One man show.

"I'll take the deal." Bruce nodded, "So where do I sign?"

"I knew you would, otherwise you wouldn't show up here." Gibbons sat down as well, "I will be lending Becky, here to you as support for the time being, so there are two of you, right? There's another soldier on standby that I can add, so that'll make a good enough team."

"One of me." Bruce shrugged, "I want to test the waters first. You shouldn't have any problem as long as the job is done right?"

"Gibbons, I have been hearing his blabber on for way too long." The third person in the room, a blonde woman said with a frustrated sigh, "We have some good people in our team aside from your X's. I wanted to trust you on this but this kid's organization is barely even real. What can a one-man do? If you want him dead so bad, why not just put a bullet through his head right here and now."

"One man can change everything." Gibbons said not turning back to the woman, "That was the first thing I learned after dealing with Xander, so you best believe when I do something, I do it with full awareness. And how many of your soldiers can keep a straight face after knowing all this. I can guarantee half of them would be shitting themselves and the rest would have to be assigned therapy."

"So we're left with 10 dead soldiers, and who knows how many dead civilians and your solution is a one-man show, who also happens to be an unempathetic psychopath?"

"This operation does require a smaller team to function, and I would appreciate it if you don't tell me how I should do my job," Gibbons said looking annoyed as he turned to Bruce waiting for him to say something,

"It's okay." Bruce said standing up, "I know, trying to sell myself as a one-man army sounds really preposterous, but I can prove myself. A bit of self-advertising shouldn't be too bad."

"How do you plan on doing that," The woman snorted,

"You tell me." Bruce shrugged, "Will fighting your soldiers satisfy you, we could hit up a gun range, or I can take you, hostage, in this facility filled with soldiers and extract you wherever you want to, whatever grinds your gear old lady."

"Old? Listen-"

"Your shooting skills would do." Gibbons interrupted her as he stood up as well, "In fact, even I am interested to see what you've got. Those rumors tend to only fuel my curiosity, so I hope you can satisfy it."

"Don't act like you didn't purposefully put me in this position."

----------------------------

In the booth, three people stood dumbfounded looking at the scene in front of them. The man who caused the ruckus was nowhere to be seen, as Gibbons finally snapped out of it.

"I am a hundred percent sure, he's not a mutant." Gibbons said, "But I've never seen such shit before. Maybe the rumors were true."

"What rumors Gibbons?" The blonde lady from before asked looking way too curious about it all of a sudden, her previous attitude from before completely flipped to a 180,

"You don't want to know." Gibbons shook his head, "Agent Marke, I am sure you have no further doubts about my decision right? Then let's call it a day."

"I pity that someone with such skills has a big mouth. I wonder how far can he take it without hurdles." The woman nodded with an obvious threat as she walked out without saying anything further,

"Anything to add Agent Clearidge?" Gibbons turned towards Becky who still had her mouths wide open,

"It's a new record," Becky said fiddling through her tablet, "A 100% accuracy, I thought he missed a couple of shots in between but looking back at the footage, the bullet passed through the same hole each time. This simulation I created based on very unlikely events, the highest anyone has ever got was 72% but this is completely something else-"

"Breath!"

----------------------------

"Yeah! I guess I'll be leaving soon so keep up with your training, I'll make sure to call in now and again. And you know the drill in case of emergencies." Bruce said on the phone informing Suki about what happened, "I'll miss you."

"Your girlfriend?" Becky came forward as he hung up his phone,

"Yeah, well no... it's a bit complicated," Bruce said looking a bit awkward as he hadn't thought about where they stood in the relationship, "So, who is this other soldier they are dumping on me?"

Bruce asked suddenly trying to change the subject,

"I haven't met him yet, but they say he is exceptionally good." Becky said, "Erik Stevens, Navy Seals. He has a pretty good track record, in fact, there's a rumor that he is going to be recruited by the JSOC unit."

"Is that impressive?" Bruce asked with his head tilted,

"I wouldn't know. But I am sure it is with how every agent has been fangirling over the guy." Becky shrugged, "Follow me... As you heard from Gibbons, I am going to be your support for your operation and for the hopeful future to come."

"That's the most optimistic thing I've heard in some time," Bruce chuckled poking fun at her uneasiness, "So a spy among my group, huh?"

"No- wait, is that what this is?" Becky looked back at him with innocent eyes that looked overwhelmingly shocked.

Bruce couldn't help but let out a laugh, "Don't worry, they are just trying to create a link, after all, they need someone to hold me responsible. Make sure I do my job and not just fool around on government funds. So miss spy, you shouldn't think too much about it."

"That makes sense, but you shouldn't be worried either." Becky looked at him with a teasing look, "I don't go out in the field so I don't mind looking the other way around sometimes if you know what I mean."

Looking at her obvious 'I'll keep it a secret' winks, Bruce was glad that not everyone out here had a stick up their ass or trying to play mind games with him. But the rollercoaster of emotion she was throwing at him was a bit hard to keep track of.

"Can I ask you something?" Becky asked,

"Go ahead."

"How many people have you, you know?"

"Killed?" Bruce nodded, "Ah! I lost count after a hundred... just kidding, but you shouldn't ask questions that would likely terrify you."
