"I told you, you would get sick."
"I thought my optimism could have my very terrible immune system lay off. That really didn't work."
"Clearly." Leon rolled their eyes and looked down at Liam, who had been laid on his bed all day. He had a cold. A bad one. He was given medicine, so he was doing a bit better. Leon had taken up the responsibility of taking care of him. Which was basically entertaining him for the most part.
He had sat up a couple of minutes ago, now having his back pressed against the headboard. "Do you want anything? Anything that's not soup, you'll be getting that anyway." Leon questioned, more to see how he was doing than actually wanting to get him anything. If he asked for something like water, that usually meant he was doing fine. On the other hand, if he asked for something like, iced coffee, meant he felt like he wanted to die.
"What about iced tea? That would be nice." Leon hummed in response, nodding his head some, before taking his phone out of his pocket and promptly walked out of the room. Iced Tea. That was a new one, they had no clue what that was supposed to mean. Though it was likely that he was just in the mood for iced tea, and it held no significance whatsoever.
Staring at their phone, they contemplated who to call. Their father was busy, Aunt likely the same. Their mind drifted to Phil as they remembered that he had offered to come over the previous day, knowing that Liam was likely to get sick. Dailing his number, he waited for the other to pick up before giving a rundown of how Liam was doing and asked him to bring iced tea over. When Phil had thankfully agreed, Leon thanked him and stuffed his phone back into his pocket.
"So, Iced tea. What's that about? Where does it fall on the scale?" Liam glanced at the other a bit, before answering in a rather raspy voice. "Somewhere in the middle." Leon, though a bit confused by the sudden raspiness of the other's voice, nodded before leaving to get him a glass of water. If iced tea was in the middle of the spectrum, then that means he was doing a lot better than he had at the beginning of the day. Which would've been at the end of the spectrum.
A couple of minutes later they returned with the glass of water before handing it to Liam; who couldn't seem to be able to grip it properly. Leon let out a sigh before swatting the other's hand away and helping him drink the water. Once Liam seemed satisfied they placed the cup onto the bedside table and sat at the edge of his bed. "Better?" Leon questioned.
"Yeah. Mhm." They noticed that this voice was sounded significantly better before nodding their had head. Now they were left with silence, an uncomfortably one at that. Liam looked around the room for nothing in particular, while Leon had started fidgeting. Seemingly out of nowhere Leon stood and was about to announce that they were going to leave when they heard a knock on the door.
"Oh, thank god," Leon whispered before turning on their heels and walked out of the room, not sparing Liam a word. Going downstairs, he walked over to the door; opening it to reveal Phil. Just who they expected. He could be seen holding two cups, one of which they could only hope was Iced tea.
"Hi Phil, did you get the iced tea?" The male in question nodded before waiting to be let in the house. Leon did just that and stepped aside, letting the other in. "I also got you coffee, figured you could use some." He passed one of the cups to Leon, who thanked him before leading to the room where their brother was currently in. As they stepped into the room, they were immediately met with Liam who was in the middle of a coughing fit.
Phil, as if on instinct, immediately rushed to his side and started helping him. Leon did not do this, knowing full well that this could not be helped, and simply stood there and watched. What a helpful person.
