Heather starts rummaging through the duffel bag while you check the area near the quilt. Under the pot are several overripe apples, and you take one from the pile and eat it while you place the rest in your backpack along with the pot. Under the quilt are several ladies' shirts and a pair of blue overalls all of which would fit any of the women at the Cathedral.

"About a dozen cans of food and containers of dried fruit in here. Some men's clothes. A toothbrush, an old straight razor. Fresh water. Check this knapsack."

She tosses you the bag. Inside are several family life magazines, a few classic novels, a Field Army Survival Guide, clothing for a toddler, several packs of batteries, and a diary. In side pouches are several bags of raisins and assorted nuts.

You repack the knapsack and sling it over your shoulder, then proceed to wrap up the quilt and all blankets. Anything and everything goes in your backpack, or you fasten it to some part of your body. Though weighed down, you are reluctant to leave anything here. You even cut down the mosquito net and ball it up to stuff in the knapsack.
