In the middle of night, a heavy thunder wakes you from a restful sleep. You sit up and hear the sounds of a commotion in the hallway, so you climb out of bed and head out of your room.

On the second floor, all of the survivors have left their rooms.

"What was that?" Candace asks, as she pulls on a pair of pants over her pajamas.

"It sounded like thunder but not from overhead," Heather says. "Maybe from the front of the Cathedral."

Mindy bolts down the stairs, and you follow close behind along with the rest of the group. Through the Gathering and into the Sanctuary, all of you rush to find a cloud of smoke and ash coating the area. The front vestibule of the church has broken stone and gravel scattered about and appears the epicenter of an explosion. The outer doors are blown apart, though jagged fragments cling to the frame. The vestibule ceiling has caved in, creating a sizable pile of rubble. The inner doors are blown open but appear intact though scorch marks show the blast radius.
