Later in the day, after work has been done, the survivors prepare for a family-style dinner. Uncle Lou stops you in the hall outside the Gathering, apron already on, with a large smile and look of someone ready to ask a favor.

"Food isn't plentiful, I know, but we've all been working hard and could use a nice meal tonight—a Sunday dinner like you'd get at your grandmother's after church. You know, something you want to eat then sit on the couch, unbutton your pants and watch the game. Would it be alright if I cooked up a nice dinner with some extra food?"
