You won't allow yourself to leave until you've found the sniper. Looking around in each direction, you can't spot anything.

Then, another shot. It hits you like a freight train. You feel your feet lifting off the ground, your body weightless, and it all seems to happen in slow motion. The world flies past you in a blur, and then returns to normal as you crash to the asphalt on your back.

Pain shoots through your entire body, spreading from the gaping hole in your ribcage where the bullet struck you. You've felt pain before, of course, but nothing like this. It feels as if your nerves are on fire. Blood is everywhere.

You can't breathe. Did your ribs shatter? Did the bullet collapse a lung? You gasp for air, but none enters you. Jaime screams your name, but all fades to white.
