The Crown Prince is born

It seems like nine months passed in blink of an eye soon the day of the birth of the baby arrived. Though it was a moment of happiness but the King's blood was running cold and he was tensed as well. Soon the Queen went into labour the Imperial doctors and maids hastened for the delivery and were rushing in and out of the room to get water in necessary stuff for the delivery. The Queen was fighting tooth and nail to give birth the screams were audible to the King who was holding his breath outside the Queen's room. With every scream his heart sank deep into worry he prayed to Heavens for the safety of the Queen and their baby. After sometime a child crying was heard the King was happy. Soon the doctor came with the handsome baby boy wrapped in silk blanket and handed him to the king the king held the baby while the baby's eyes were still closed he kissed his forehead gently and the baby open his eyes.As he opened his eyes they shined red leaving the King in confusion but he thought maybe it has imagination and he shrugged it off and asked about the Queen.

King: "How is the Queen?"

Doctor:" The delivery was risky and difficult but your highness remain strong and the heavens bless your highness now she is completely out of danger at the cause of the delivery he is very exhausted."

King:" Thank Goodness!"

After hearing the Queen is alright the King finally sighed in relief and thanked the Heaven's a 100 times his happiness double when he turned the baby to see whether he have Golden Wings or not and saw the spaces of the Wings on the baby's back.

After handing over the baby to the doctor again the King headed to The Throne hall to announce the birth of the Prince.

King:" I know you all are eagerly waiting for the news of the baby so I am really happy to inform you that Heaven's have blessed us with a Prince and I gladly announce that tomorrow we will celebrate the birth of the Prince and hold the Crowning ceremony of the Crown Prince."

Everyone Bowed and congratulated the King and hailed:" Long Live The Emperor! Long Live The Empress! Long Live The Crown Prince!"

King:" I would like the state heads to issue the Royal Notice informing people about the birth of the Clown Prince and feed the people of your respective states a Royal dinner in the celebration of the birth of Crown Prince."

After the announcement was completed everyone nodded and the King left and all the people went to do their assigned jobs.

In the meantime the maids helped the Queen to get cleaned and helped her change and placed the baby beside her after everything was done.

The King went to see the Queen and he saw the Queen sleeping peacefully and sat beside her. Not wanting to disturb her sleep he held her hand slowly and softly kissed her forehead and whispered "Thankyou" in her ears. The Queen woke up because of the whisper in her ears. She opened her eyes to see the king smiling at her she tried to sit up and the king help her sit.

King:" How are you feeling?"

Queen:" I'm much better now."

King:" Thank you! for once again giving me one of the biggest happiness of my life."

Queen:" Thank you! for agreeing with me and taking so much care of me."

King:" Loving you and taking care of you is my priority and now of our baby also." he said smiling.

Queen:" So what will you name our baby the next heir of The Throne ?"

King :" Since he is the future of Goincus- kingdom of the Golden Wings (Empire's name)

so I want it to be bright so I decided to name him Lucidus the Bright and Unshadowed." he said while looking towards the baby who was sleeping next to the Queen.

Queen:" Indeed Your Majesty is wise."

King:" I have ordered to arrange a banquet for the celebration of the birth of our baby and It will also be his Crowning ceremony as Crown Prince. I was thinking to distribute some sweets and clothes among the people of our Empire."

Queen:" It's a great thought Your Majesty."

The King hugged them both and they seemed the perfect happy family.

The next day the day of the banquet and Crowning ceremony there was a lot of Hustle bustle in the Palace since there was only one day for the preparations still the Palace was beautifully decorated with flowers and ribbons and many other things. Many performances of singing,dancing ,magic show etc were prepared for the entertainment in the banquet. Large tables for guests were prepared with a variety of delicious food . Palace officials High Reputed Families and Family Friends were invited as guests.

After sometime all the guests came the King and Queen also arrived with the Prince. Everyone greeted them and they gave the permission to start the celebration the banquet started with a dancing performance and all the guests came one by one to present their gift to the Prince. When everyone was done presenting their gifts to the Prince the King and Queen stood up and the King announced the Prince as the successor of The Throne.

King:" Today I officially announce my son lucidus who is By Nature born as the next ruler of the Goincus- kingdom of the Golden Wings he is blessed with golden Wings as the Crown Prince of Goincus."

"Goincus Crown Prince Lucidus the Unshadowed!" he said while lifting and him in his arms and showing his Golden Wings to everyone.

He then raised a toast and said King :"Congratulations to you all for your Crown Prince!" Everyone also raise a toast and congratulated the King and Queen and said :"Congratulations to His Majesty and Your Highness" then hailed: "Long Live The Emperor! Long Live The Empress! Long Live The Crown Prince!" and then all of them drank the cup of wine and enjoyed the rest of the banquet.

Three years have passed but these three years were not very good as they seemed. The Crown Prince had once in a while an attack in which his eyes turned red and he cried a lot and he remained in the condition for a few minutes after that he became normal. The King ordered many doctors to see why is it so and treat it but no one was able to find the cause of it or was able to treat it. The king was in these thoughts of the Crown Prince when suddenly a man came to his mind who gave the King the potion and the King ordered the Guards to find him and bring him to the King.

A couple of days passed but no news from the guards came about the man. He was worried about the Crown Prince when a guard came and bowed to him and said Guard :"Your Majesty! the person you said to find had died few days ago."

King." What!? How!?"

Guard:" When we searched about him we found he had no family he lived alone and upon asking his neighbours about his death they said he died a natural death because of heart failure."

King:"Ok. Leave".

He bowed and left.

The last hope he had of curing his son faded away. Days passed like this but since it was not really serious and happen occasionally the Queen told the king not to worry so much everything will be fine as he will grow up.

One day the King was in the Throne hall assigning the jobs to the ministers when a guard came running to Throne hall and shouted "Your Majesty! Your highness is poisoned!" King:"What are you saying!?" the King quickly ran to the Queen's room he saw Queen taking her last breaths with her shiny nails and her cheery lips turned blue and her soft skin turned pale he held her in his forearms while holding her hands which were turning cold with every passing minute and she said protect our son he is in danger Your Majesty...

He said while crying and sluttering

King:" I will...don't... don't worry we will together protect him.... stay strong I... I know you are very strong...."

Queen:" Take good care of Yourself and Lucidus..... and love him on my behalf also.... and make him a great King just like you...."

King:" Don't say this... I...I know I couldn't protect you...I am a...a... bad husband but...please just.... don't le...leave me..."

Tears were continuously running down his eyes.

Queen:" You were the best husband anyone ever had....I was the luckiest woman to have you...."

King:" P...please....don't leave..m..me.."

Queen:" It's ok....don't cry...stay happy... I will watch over you and Lucidus....I...I love you..." she said while caressing his cheeks and wiping his tears.

King:" I...I love you...mo...more...."

She smiled and closed her eyes and in a moment her soul left her body leaving her once warm embrace ice cold.The King was in such a trauma that he couldn't even utter word and tears were continuously running down his eyes.His heart was aching like someone stabbed it. He felt someone ripped a piece of him while he's still alive. But all he could do was kissed her forehead and hugged her giving her the warmth she gave him all her life one last time.He then places her on the bed gently and looked at their son who lost his mother before even remembering her properly and loving her He wiped his tears saying under his breath " Don't worry father will love you on behalf of your mother also."

Lucidus whose eyes were filled with confusion looking at his father crying and his mother laying he ran crying to her mother and hugged her and felt his mother's warm embarce which is his home after everytime he cries which held him everytime he was in pain is now not the same. He took his mother's hand and felt those hand which wiped the tears even before they fell down are not wiping them even when he is crying uncontrollably. He asked his father

Lucidus:" Father, what happend to my mother why is she not hugging me!? he asked with teary innocent eyes looking at his father's teary eyes. The King tried ro control his tears for Lucidus so that he don't become sad or feel his mother left him.

King:" Your mother has became an angel....

Lucidus:" did mother left us?"

King:" No...son...she will be watching us from Heaven she became your guardian angel to guide you to right path....she will always be in our hearts and live there forever....

On hearing what his father said Lucidus turned to his mother and hugged her saying

Lucidus:" Mother Father said you will forever live in our hearts I will keep you safe in my heart and I promise you I will become a great King like Father as you wished because I have you as my Guardian angelto guide me....I will study hard and practice hard to become a great King....Don't worry about me and always remains safe in my heart and I will protect you and watch over me from heaven....I love you mother and I know you also love me alot...."

He then kissed her mother forehead.The King was now unble to control his tears and hugged them both and asked Lucidus to wait for him outside the room. Lucidus nodded and stood outside the room waiting for his father.

The King then fuming in anger asked

King:" Who dared to do this!! where were the Guards and everyone!!??

Everyone was scared to death and knelt down begging for his Mercy.

King:" I want everyone who visited the queen today right now!"

The guards nodded and left to bring the people who visited the Queen. They brought all the people who visited the Queen in front of the king but none of them seemed suspicious.

In the meantime the maids prepared the Queen for the funeral after cleaning her and changing her clothes.The King then with the heavy heart and face like a wet weekend held the funeral of the Queen and buried her very decently as the Empress of the nation in the ancestral Graveyard of the Royal Family.

He bid her farewell holding their baby in his arms saying I'll surely fulfill your last wish and will love you till my last breath. After the funeral rituals the King went to their room leaving his baby with his best friend's wife whose son was also lucidus's best friend and cried his heart out missing her looking at her things. When suddenly he heard a knock at the room's door he asked who it is and he heard a female voice "I am the late Empress's maid may I come in?" He permitted her to come inside and as she came in and bowed to him the King said

King:"Are you not the closest made to the Queen where were you at that time of her death? I don't remember seeing you there ."

Maid: "Don't doubt me Your Majesty I was in the kitchen cooking Soup for Your Highness as she said she wanted to drink soup."

King:" Why did you come here?"

Maid:" I came here to tell you something regarding the death of Your Highness. "

King:" Say it."

Maid:" When I was leaving for the kitchen I was the only made the Queen had at that time in her room. I saw head Imperial doctor of Queen heading inside the room holding a bottle in her hands I thought it was a medicine and didn't bother much but then I heard the news of Your Highness's death. I couldn't believe what the people said and rushed to Your Highness's room by the time I reached there Your Majesty already left."

King: Why you didn't told this to me earlier?"

Maid:"Beacuse Your Majesty I didn't suspected her as she has been serving as Head Imperial doctor pf Your Highness from so long but when I heard that she was outside the Palace when the Guards were searching for her to bring her to you and also she was not present at the time of the death of Your Highness it's odd of her not being there because she is the head a doctor Your Highness. so I started to suspect her that's why after the funeral ritual I rushed to tell you all this."

The King called his most trusted general and his best friend who is with him always.

King:" Fidelis!"

Fidelis:" Yes,Your Majesty."

King:" let's go to the head Imperial doctor of the Queen's place."

They headed to her chamber where she lived and verb as soon as they reached there they found her dead with blood running from her wrist. Fidelis rushed to her and tied her wrist with a handkerchief to stop the bleeding and see if she is still alive or not but he found her dead.

Fidelis:" She's dead Your Majesty."

He found a note on the table in front of her the note had written on it " I admit I poisoned the Queen because she was about to know the truth about me that I was responsible for her previous abortions because I was bribed by the doctor who came here with the portion so that he can take his revenge because he was not selected as a Royal doctor. I committed suicide to give myself a peaceful death to escape the torture and public execution from the King."

But Fidelis noticed that her neck is broken may be someone killed her and then cut her wrist to show that she committed suicide.

Both the king and Fidelis believed that someone else was behind the death of the Queen because none of the doctor had a capability to do so much without getting suspected and poisoning the Queen. So the King asked Fidelis to investigate the case on his own in private not alerting anyone because he don't trust anyone other than Fidelis for this case and also don't want to give the enemy any chance to escape because he believed may be there can be the link of his son's condition with this.
