"Hey. Are you there? Can you hear me?"

There was a stunned silence before a familiar voice uttered, "…Luke?"

Luke's features softened, and his lips slowly curved into a smile. "Zach," he said, unable to hide the relief in his tone.

"Luke?" Zach's voice was trembling. "Luke, is that you?"

"Yes. It's me. I'm sorry for deactivating the commcrystal."

". . ."

"Zach?"

". . ."

"Zach," Luke tried. "Please say something."

". . ."

"I know you're mad at me, but I really had no choice. I couldn't take the risk of having you chase after me. I know you too well."

". . ."

"Zach?"

"…I'm glad."

"What?"

"I'm glad you're okay."

Luke let out a breath, his whole body relaxing in relief. The thoughts that were buzzing around in his head finally calmed down at the sound of Zach's voice.
