It was a clear threat, a warning that Leon was sure would spell defeat for them the moment they tried to resist.
He watched with trepidation as the villagers began to rush upstairs, intent on capturing Ardyn while he was unaware.
Next to him, Luke stiffened, but before he could open his mouth to say anything, Cliff suddenly stood before them, his stance and gaze sharp and intimidating.
"You two are coming with me. No funny business," he said, all traces of light humor or weariness gone from his tone and expression. "Otherwise, I'll be forced to do something I don't want to do."
Leon pressed his lips into a thin line. "All right," he conceded quietly.
It was too late now. Leon would have to come up with a plan later, once they were in the shed and had some time to think without all these people around.
