When Jack and the mayor got to the man's home it was a better building than the others, but it was not by much as San Antonio was still a small town by a modern version. This was pre-revolution so it was still just a territory and not a state.
"Please come in."
Jack entered the house and was led to a room where the mayor sat down behind a desk. The man pulled out a cigar and put it in his mouth and offered one to Jack.
"No thank you. I don't smoke."
"Shame, these are some of the finest around. Well, My offer was for you to trap a few more wolves and train them for us. Seems it would be better than to just pay people to go out and kill them."
Jack nodded. "Well training a wild-grown wolf is not easy and it is better to start with them as pups. You have to find people willing to trap the puppies and put in the time to train them."
The mayor nodded. "So can you breed wolves?"
Jack nodded. "Like how you breed dogs. However, the difference being how willing a mother wolf will let you near her pups. You would not want your kids being messed with now would you?"
The mayor shook his head. "No, I would not. I can put out a few offers for living wolves to be trapped. You can get paid a share of the profits and the wolves sold."
Jack thought about it and was in need of money. He could just turn into a werewolf and run North, but he wanted to become rich as if he was in Marvel he would one day have to deal with rich people like Tony Stark, Osborn, and whoever else as he did not know.
He had a headstart on them by about 2 centuries and with inflation, he should be able to become the richest man in the world if he ignored Wakanda. He just needed to control the Texas oil fields or other deposits and he may need to buy some places where he could find other rare resources.
"Well, I am glad to do it, however, I have a question? What will you be doing with the Mexican Government."
The mayor shrugged. "Well a lot of people are wanting to get away and rejoin the United States, but many want to stay as-is. I am still loyal to my country and I assume you are from the United States as well."
Jack nodded. "I am from New York, but all this time I have not heard your name."
The mayor just laughed. "My name is Henry, Henry Colt."
Both men talked a bit longer and Henry got Jack a room at the best hotel they could, but Jack did not intend to stay long. He was going to stay long enough to get the idea out and get paid for it. With that money, he could jump-start a business in New York or Britain.
For now, he just needed to bide his time as he could not just go full-on werewolf rampage as if he did he would be leaving a trail in the timeline. He knew about Wakanda and even if he was strong he knew he was not invisible right now. He was not used to all his new powers and needed time to get used to them.
When he left the mayor's office after a long period of talk and was going toward his hotel thinking of which inventions to steal before others did and he obviously thought of the main ones.
Automatic weapons, The Bessemer Process, the light bulb, or maybe even barbed wire as he was still about 40 years early before it was invented. He got in the hotel room and went into the largest room where he let the wolves loose in the room.
He laid down on the bed while the wolves all jumped on with him. He was deep in thought at the thought of how long he should stay and where he could practice his power. He remembered what Andon said and he knew he had a few bloodlines in him and they all had different powers.
He pulled out the phone and saw that the videos he had only had the basics of the basics explaining what powers he had, not how to use them. The claws and fangs were the only things he was told about as he had no idea how to go about it the first time.
He started to watch more and he saw he had a few interesting abilities. His regeneration was top class, his skin was nearly impenetrable, he could turn into mist if needed, use it as a shield, hold his breath for weeks and use it as a form of attack, control wolves and that was not counting on the Fenrir blood that made the other abilities stronger.
He spent the day watching the short videos he saw he got a message from Andon.
'If you have watched the videos this shall be the only help you get now. The collars and chains were a one-time thing and now you are on your own. Have fun, Jack.'
Jack sighed as he was now on his own, truly on his own. He was happy he could no longer be controlled, but at the same time having a god help you was nice. For now, he needed to start planning on what his mission would be.
"Ok, so this is 1832 which is a few decades before the American Civil War where I will make the big books. I will need to get started on the repeating rifles and the Gatling gun, but I should wait for just a year before the war. I also got time before oil, steel was the multi-million dollar business."
Jack slumped as he wished he could just go full-blown werewolf and just use power to take control, but he did not know who else was with him in this world that may be stronger than him. For now, he was stuck with wolf training and selling for his first start-up businesses.
"Well might as well go out today to test this werewolf transformation."
He was free for the next couple of days so he could go any time, but it would be better to go at night as he would be under the cover of the night for his experiments. For now, he got out of bed and focused on the mist aspect.
He focused on his body and felt that he just needed to focus. The wolves all looked at him with interest as they had chosen him as their leader and wanted to know what he would do.
A small black mist began to come off his fingertips while it went up to his arms until they became totally mist and incorporeal. He just had to think about it and his arms were back to normal.
"So I can use this to block damage and even avoid it if needed. As for my durability."
He made his claws extended and slashed his right arm to see how durable it was. He saw his claws cut through his skin, but before any blood could spill all cuts all closed up.
"So my own claws can hurt me, but my healing is nearly instant. I also don't feel hungry, but I should get ready."
He sat down on the floor and began to meditate. His therapist had said that it was a good way to clear the mind, but it never helped much. He still did it every day for his own peace of mind, but it may help here.
When his mind got cleared he felt his senses were much more emphasized as he was not thinking of everything at once. His own heartbeat was way faster than a human while his blood seemed to be much darker than it should be, but for now, that was the limit.
He got off the ground and sighed.
"Well, let's go out. I need to try this transformation thing."
The wolves all followed him while the chains all got hooked up to their collars and he began to walk out of town. The town was not that large so he could walk out in a few minutes. Once he was out of the town he unhooked the wolves so they could start to run.
He decided to get about 7 miles out to the middle of nowhere. He looked at his clothes and he felt that nothing would happen to them so he did not take them off. He focused on the way he turned his teeth and claws and began to process to turn.
He thought of his wolf form and their outfit seemed to melt into his body while his bones and flesh tore and stretched. His eyes glowed bright red, his body grew black fur and his size continued to grow until he was fully in the body of a giant 5-meter tall black wolf.
The wolves with him all looked at him in awe while Jack began trying to walk, but he tripped on his own paws face first. The wolves rushed to his help thinking their leader was hurt, but only his pride was hurt. He quickly got the hang of walking and his senses were stronger than ever.
Everything felt stronger and clear than it did before while he looked at the wolves who were looking at him with pure respect. However, as he looked all around he noticed that things seemed slow as his perfection was beginning to affect him.
"Seems this was better than I thought."
The voice that came from his mouth was much more rough and deep than his normal voice and he tried to turn from his wolf form to his werewolf one. He began to shrink just a bit while his back legs got more pronounced as his front paws became claws and he took a more werewolf look, but he was still 4 meters tall.
'This is easy and there is no pain. Now I just need to turn back.' After he got his confirmation he could turn at will he returned to his human form where his outfit was back to normal. He felt that he should not stay long in Texas or he may stay a few years to cash in for the Revolution.
"Well for now I know the war is still 3 years away and the Alamo is about 4 years away. I got time to get a good business start and if I play my cards right I might even become governor of Texas."
Erebus and the wolves nodded as if they understood. "Are you hungry? You haven't eaten since yesterday."
The wolves shook their heads as being around him was better as he did have the blood of the god of Wolves. Just being near him was making them stronger slowly than any wolf along with living way longer than normal.
For now, he just needed to lay low and let his bloodline grow as he would grow stronger as he aged and he was not one a reader of the comics either. He just knew some bits and pieces of information from his time as a kid.
He sighed as he was in way over his head with the amount of trouble he was in. Who knew what kind of beings could be lurking around at this time as he had no idea where. He knew of the Ancient One, but that old man may see him as a threat and kill him.
He did have the blood of a God, but for now, it was weak. He just needed to bide his time and he felt that the divine blood of the God of wolves would grow stronger in time. For now, it was assimulating the 4 bloodlines he had. Yet, he was glad he was not just a werewolf as beings like Thanos and Odin could destroy him for now.
As he got back to town he decided to start his plan to get rich as he needed to keep himself busy as he would not age anymore. Being that old would need a goal and plan for him to make the most out of his biological immortality.
