Sorcerer's Bane.

At the moment Jack was sitting across Sam Houston who was looking over the new Musket as Jack had said that he would be selling to the highest bidder. That meant that if Sam did not agree Jack would sell to Santa Ana which could not be allowed.

"Sir Connors, is what you said true? You would sell to Mexico when you could help us win this war? Why?"

Jack just grinned. "I am a merchant and businessman first. I have no loyalty to Texas or anyone. I go where the money takes me and if I can make more in Mexico I will sell to the Mexicans. You can understand, right? You are a politician after all."

A few of the guards who were with Sam scowled as people like Jack profited off wars and they felt he should be on board with the Revolution. Turns out he was just someone who make money from war. Sam sighed and needed to accept this deal one way or another.

"How much is what you believe is reasonable for the new weapon?"

Jack grinned and started listing off. "A current day Musket costs about 40-50$, so how about 85$ per Musket. You saw yourself that you can fire these at many times the rate of the old type of weapon correct. I say that is a reasonable price."

Sam looked down at the weapon and they already saw a demonstration of how they work and Jack was right. It was many times faster and could shoot further than normal, so the high price was worth it. He would have liked to haggle, but Jack would sell to Mexico then.

He sighed and looked at the bright side. They would have these weapons while Mexico would not.

"I accept, how many of them do you have?"

"I have 5, 500 in stock, and all of them are ready for sale. So, how many will you buy then?"

Sam nodded. "I will take them all."

Jack smiled. "Well as you will be buying in bulk I will give you a 4% discount. Is all this acceptable?"

Sam did not even expect a discount so any was good as anything. They both signed a contract and the money was all given to Jack who in today's money had just made about 11,028,119.54$ dollars with all the inflation. Of course, he would be better off using that money to purchase land or invest in a business.

Once he reached America he would use most of the wealth he made with his sale of Barbed wire and the new Muskets to invest in a business that one day would rival Oscorp and Stark enterprises. Jack could see the money rolling in and it would be his.

He coughed to get out of his fantasy and got focused again. He shook Sam's hand once more and left the meeting place. As he was on his way home he was making sure he was not followed and when he noticed he was not he transformed into his wolf form and began to run home at full speed.

Getting home was quick and easy so he made it in about a few minutes of max speed. As he approached the home the wolves who were keeping guard saw his giant form they all howled to show his return.

He turned back to his human form and smiled as he would be getting more money than he ever made in his past life. Times were so simple to get rich as most inventions could make millions. When he approached his pets he smiled as they came to greet him. More than he could say to the world in his past life as he was thrown away after he had no use.

"Hello to the lot of you too."

Jack was swarmed by his pets who all wanted his affection and attention. He began to rub the neck of Red who might be one of his favorites. His arm was grabbed by Silver who also wanted to get pet so he scratched her sides making her kick and squirm.

After another 10 minutes of taking it easy, he decided it was enough and started to enter the house. However, he suddenly heard the caw of a Raven and looked up at a tree where one was perched. He lifted his arm and the Raven landed on his arm.

"Aren't you a pretty one? Remind me of a certain someone."

Jack realized what he said and shook his head.

"Damn succubus, who knew Death could be so seductive. Don't tell her I told you that."

The Raven nodded and jumped on his shoulder and Jack went inside to get ready to give all the weapons over while he would get his paycheck. While he was starting to pack his stuff the Raven flew onto the coat hanger and just watched him pack.

As for clothes, he did not buy any at all as his current outfit might stand out like a sore thumb, but It could repair and clean itself so he didn't bother to switch out of it. While frankly, he loved it, so why would he.

As he was done with all his businesses in Texas he could just leave when he got his money and the guns were given over. However, he suddenly heard the wolves all snarling, barking at someone and that made Jack a bit weirded out.

He did not hear or smell anyone and almost nothing could get past his senses. Except for Death and magic. He looked at the Raven and it flew on his shoulder when he began to walk outside and when he went outside he saw someone he did not want to see. It was an old man of Asian descent who was looking at him with a scowl.

Jack looked at his wolves and they were all keeping their distance from the man while the Ancient One was looking right at Red. Jack could guess why, but he would not let a thing happen to his pet.

"Go inside all of you."

The wolves all wanted to disobey, but he was serious and they all began to go into the house. Jack's claws extended and he began to growl while bones in his body began to pop, while his muscles were tense. He was prepared for a fight to the death, but the Ancient One raised his hand.

"How about you stop that and let's talk like adults, not animals?"

Jack's eyes began to glow bright red as he did not trust the old man. Lucky for him that he had an extremely magic resident body as a result of his Asgardian God physiology with Fenrir having one of the most durable bodies around.

Any damage he did take would be healed by his level 6 regeneration as even if he was decapitated he could just regenerate his head or if needed grow a new body with little to no issue. However, he was not ready to lose his head right now.

He decided to at least hear the man out. He retracted his claws and his fangs while relaxing his body from the tense state he was in. However, he was ready to turn at the flip of a switch.

The Ancient One still kept his scowl and spoke pointing at the Raven that was with Jack.

"I can see that Death had her eye on you. For good reason Jack. Ever since you arrived the timeline has gone out of order with events changing. Your putting technology that should not be used at this time, You need to stop, or even if Death stops me I will take you with me."

A series of magical chains wrapped around Jack's arms, legs, chest, neck, and torso so at the moment he looked like he could barely move, but Jack just became incorporeal mist and went in between the chains.

His ability to turn into mist was not magical and was a biological ability given to him by his demon werewolf genes which were much stronger than they should be.

Jack looked at the Ancient One and he knew that in his advanced age he was much weaker than his prime, so he stood a chance. Maybe this was the chance he needed to give his body a jump start. The danger might speed up his bloodlines growth making him grin.

"I heard that you in your advanced age struggle to cast advanced magic, so how are things going to go? I for one choose your Death, old man."

In the span of a second Jack's body erupted and he was a giant black wolf releasing so much black mist that it was making the entire area pitch black. The wind began to sweep through the entire area causing small twisters in the sky.

Seeing that Jack choose to fight Yao squinted his eyes and began to make a series of hand signals.

"You monster, no better than a beast."

From his hand signals, he created a gigantic energy blast that hit Jack and exploded in a massive explosion that Yao expected should be enough to at least cripple Jack, but he suddenly heard the sound of air being devoured.

In just a few seconds all the magical energy he used in the explosion was eaten by Jack and the damage was only a few singe marks's on his fur, but those were healed before any lasting damage could be done.

Seeing how resilient Jack was and the fact that he could eat magic the Ancient One realized that a straight attack would not work and he began to begin to use his manipulation of space, reality, and cosmic energy to bend the reality to try to trap Jack in between dimensions.

The reality began to distort while the Earth and all the area moved to his will. Yao believed that traping him between dimensions would be able to slow or get rid of Jack because he could not see him on the TimeLine.

That was one of the benefits of Jack not being born or from this reality and the only reason that Death found him easily was that Jack caused murder and death on a large scale. Yao only found out about Jack because the fact is that Jack's acts of his businesses were causing butterfly effects in the timeline finally allowing him to find Jack.

Jack's idea to lay low was in fact the worst thing he could be doing, but he was too greedy and a little misinformed. However, it was too late to regret and he should just focus on getting out of this alive.

Seeing that he may be able to get rid of Jack easily made Yao feel just a bit better, but what he forgot is that Jack's power was not just about brute force. He watched as the giant wolf took a deep breath along with the black mist that came from his body and blew it out like a tornado from his mouth.

It shattered through the wall of the dimension easily and he also noticed a problem, Jack started getting bigger, faster and his mere presence was increasing throughout the battle.

He kept on blasting the giant wolf with as many types of magic as he could muster whole he charged with energy blades in his arms and slashed at Jack's right side and while the blades broke when they touched Jack's fur.

Seeing that Yao realized why Jack seemed so nonchalant about this fight and it was not good for him.

"Magic resistance damn."

Jack grinned. "You might as well be spraying water at the sea and expecting it to hurt. Just die."

He charged while using the wind and mist to speed up his speed and swing his paws at the sorcerer in quick succession. Jack opened up his huge jaws to try to devour the man whole, but Yao attacked with a quick magic blast that entered Jack's mouth and exploded in his stomach.

It ignited in his gut, but his magical resistance was not just on the outside. He sucked in the air and his dark mist from the surroundings and started to get even bigger and felt that he had enough air. With the fire in his gut, he exhaled a giant black fire breath.

Jack all smiled on the inside as he could finally use his most deadly ability he did not have much of a chance to use.

'Adaptive Devouring, thanks for the meal.'

Yao moved his hand to the right and the fire was moved out of the way and looking at Jack right now he was double his original size and he was just going to get grow larger. Jack began to circle the man while he taunted him.

"You are getting tired, use any large-scale magic and I will survive, you will just get tired and just help me, so just shut up, and let yourself get eaten."

Jack roared and lunged trying to devour him, but Yao dodged and he just ate rocks and dirt. As Yao moved faster than what his body could maintain he had a momentary lapse in his stamina, but that was all Jack needed.

He swung his claws cutting through one of the shields that the Ancient One made and grazed the man on the chest cutting through him like a cleaver. The claw cut through Yao's chest and grazed his right lung.

Yao used magic to slow the damage, but he suddenly felt a terrible pain assault his body and he used magic to see what was wrong. Jack could also produce his venom from his claws, meaning a cut was all he needed to end a fight.

Yao's cells began to have a war with the mutagenic venom however the man's magic was allowing him to resit. While Yao would not get turned into a werewolf he would be weakened for a long time trying to fight off the mutation or he might even die.

Jack was right, he was old and already struggled with any large-scale magic that would tire him out, but he could still cast some of his magic from his prime. However, if he did that he would put his body under more strain and he could fall victim to Jack's curse and be enslaved. All those that Jack turned would serve him with their lives and it is the end for the man.

"You win this time Jack, I will not rest until you are dealt with."

In a second Yao was gone and Jack was left to sigh as he lost a chance to get a good servant or meal. The one good thing is that he had managed to eat some of the magic of Yao and he felt he had an understanding of it.

He focused on that feeling and the magic in the air began to go towards him slowly. A small fireball appeared in front of him and Jack realized the only reason he managed to breathe out so much fire before was that he already had his stomach on fire with lots of magic in his gut.

"Well, it's better than nothing."

Jack once again turned into a human and returned to his house as he was going to leave as soon as he got his paycheck. He also felt he was going to take a trip to Europe as he was stringer his senses alerted him to something there.

"One thing at a time. American can wait."

He slumped on the couch and closed his eyes to sleep even a little bit. For now, he wanted to rest his mind and his schemes could wait.
