"The name's Sesil. I came from the Church of Death."
The class weren't noisy to begin with, but now it kind of feel... dead. Well, I'd say mission accomplished.
The mousy teacher seemed nervous. Her eyes were darting all over the room. I sat down and leaned back at my seat while she stammered as she called upon the next student.
I didn't really pay attention to the introductions. Everyone would avoid me anyway, now that they know I'm from the Church of Death. I fiddled with the pages of my brand new student handbook--not reading it since words somehow flew over my head, but just flipping the pages back and forth. There were pictures of the Royal Academy in the past, royalties who were graduates, pictures of the facilities, and so forth...
"Rudrarava Germadhi Grios. From Karsa."
The familiar gruff voice made me look up. I didn't realize the funny braid guy from the bus was in this class too. His name sounded weird and I didn't recognize where he came from, but he somehow managed to kill the mood too. The teacher even looked more freaked out than before.
"Ah... Yes! Of course... Um... We've been informed that... that there is a... uh... f-foreign student... Welcome, Mr. Grios!"
Huh? Did that mean he's from outside this kingdom?
Once We got a 15-minute break before the school tour started. Things got rowdy right away once the teacher left. Of course no one dared to approach me. No one dared to get close to braid guy either.
"A death cultist AND a terrorist?"
"What has the Royal Academy turned into..."
"The crown prince is in this school, right? How could they allow villains within His Highness's vicinity?"
"Can we ask for a class change?"
"Ssssh! The terrorist's looking this way!"
I sneaked a peek towards braid guy's seat across the room. Uh, I thought he was actually staring at me? The gossiping bunch just happened to be crowding in the middle.
A terrorist, huh? He did look and sound like it. I wondered why he was called a terrorist though. Did his name ever turn up on the papers or something? Or is it that "Karsa" place he mentioned?
I thought he was gonna talk to me again, but he didn't. We went on to tour the school complex right after the break. We dropped by the massive field, the labs, the library, the schoolrooms... This place was just too large. How could I possibly remember them all? I didn't really want to put that much effort for a... temporary place.
The rest of the day was uneventful. People stayed out of my way. This was a pretty okay first day, I supposed.
Until somebody grabbed my arm and forcibly dragged me into the bushes near the school entrance when I was on my way back to the doorm.
"Who the h--!"
"Ssssh! Please, do not scream!"
"Mmf-!"
I couldn't scream even if I wanted to since a hand was firmly covering my mouth. Still, I had to put up a fight. The people in this school could label strangers as "villains", but they would abduct students in broad daylight. What the hell is wrong with this place?
"Promise me you shall not screem, then I shall let you go."
But the guy wasn't strong enough to hold me down. I managed to break free with a single push. I had to catch my breath though, so I used the chance to give them a good look.
They wore the school issued cape with its hoodie up, but I could see a sliver of gold hair and a metal circlet on his forehead.
Why is the crown prince abducting people?
