Dread battle

The beast chuckled then shrugged.

"You are right. From here, I can see so much that I don't care. And the answer is yes. I saw your creature pass by, or to be more exact, I saw it being carried by the sharp-clawed legs of a winged beast.

"Where did they go?" hurried Zion in an agitated voice that Kleb never thought would come from him.

But the beast did not answer immediately and stared at his interlocutor, seeming to evaluate him even before sketching a carnivorous smile.

"What do you give me in return."

"Tell me what you want, apart from the jewel of course, this one, so silly, chooses its own master. And after several decades of not having done so yet, I find it pathetic."

The beast regarded Zion in bewilderment.

"You had the audacity to call the jewel of the waters pathetic?"

"The jewel of the waters?"
