S1-8: To The Capital (a)

Desmond woke up feeling much better. That night when the monster appeared, he had been frozen stiff with fear. The only reason why he was able to move was because he wanted to protect Lied, or at least try to protect him.

Thanks to Lied's protection spell, the monster's attack did not kill them, but Desmond had taken the brunt of the damage.

He was in a dire condition where it was possible for him to die if he had not been treated appropriately.

Thankfully, the doctor who had helped them was capable enough.

Desmond looked around the room, he head hurting. He did not know how long he had been asleep for, and he was too much in pain to care much.

He glanced to his right, where there was an empty bed, the blanket tossed aside and half hanging over the bed.

Desmond let out a sigh of relief, knowing that at least Lied had managed to survive, even if they were to never meet again.

Right on cue, Desmond heard some noise.

"Doc, I'm back," Came Lied's voice.
