The masked man had already seen Slyk go invisible, and he would not be fooled twice. He started chanting to cast another spell.
Slyk noticed something interesting. The Mana released by humans remained after a spell. The fire had made the surrounding richer in Mana.
"Bloody rat," The masked man grumbled.
He released another wave of fire. Slyk curled into a ball again, letting the wave of fire roll over it. This time, however, it was not stopping. Slyk waited for a second or two before realising the man was not going to stop.
Slyk's mind raced, filling its mind with excruciating pain. It could try to shock the human again, but with its eyes being burnt off, it could not locate the human. The longer it waited, the more pain it felt, particularly near its chest.
Was there something in its chest?
