S1-198: Confrontation (a)

~The Capital, 6115 a.d. Day 175~

Lied was in the carriage that Desmond had hired. He sat there, staring into blank space. He thought about going directly to Desmond's family but decided against it. He simply could not bring himself to speak with them. The Vampire had been rather dormant the entire journey. He could tell there were things on her mind that she was not willing to talk about.

"Hey," Lied called out.

There was no response.

"Vampire," Lied called out again.

The Vampire appeared in his line of sight, seated across from him. She frowned and told him, "Do not refer to me in that manner."

"It's not like I know your name," Lied muttered.

"Call me Valentine," The Vampire told him.

"Okay then, Valentine," Lied started the conversation. "Do the souls of humans get swept up that quickly? I remember finding you in an area where not many souls were collected."
