"Well then, enough cutting off my limbs. Time to work on mana. It does fuel a majority of my combat skills."
Saying so, Vance began to think about how he would deal with his mana production. He thought about how it was something that had a base in intelligence and spiritual power. He though about giving his soul an upgrade, then thought about his intelligence. He realized that he could simply harness mana regeneration in the form of a gene, just like his healing factor. He would make it so that his body would absorb mana quicker and would also be able to generate it.
"I will be undefeated when it comes to mana generation. Drawn out battles will be my best friend. They won't be able to kill me, or tire me out mana-wise."
Vance worked on the designs for this gene. As he did with the Healing Factor Gene, he made sure that it would be able to merge with his body easier. He designed it so that it would make his body able to store and generate mana in each individual cell.
"It isn't infinite mana, but it's coming damn close."
Vance was done with the designing a short time later. In his hands was another syringe gun. This time it was filled with a slightly transparent blue liquid, that seemed somewhat energetic. It seemed as if it could flow straight out of the gun and become a free gas.
"Time for another upgrade."
Vance stuck the syringe gun into himself and pulled the trigger. The liquid quickly flowed into him and began to merge with his body. Inside him, his cells began to fill up with a mysterious blue energy.
"Oh god, if I'm going to be merging genes with my body, I gotta make it so that my body's DNA won't get fucked up when all these different genes merge."
Vance then began feeling the different changes in his body. He felt like he was closer to the mana in the air, as if it was a part of his very being.
"This feels really good, like I can't get tired, or like I have unlimited energy."
Vance tested out to see just how quickly the generation of mana worked. He began to use Space magic, and he teleported to various locations rapidly. He did this for a few minutes and eventually got back to his room.
"Wow. It feels like I still have so much mana left. If I ever create an infinite mana thing, I'll definitely have to suit it to this gene."
Vance continued admiring his mana capacity for a short time.
