~~~(POV: Lyatt Scott)~~~
~~~(Date: February 7th, 2297)~~~
I slowly walk the path that leads out of the forest, and I have a lingering lost feeling... The same feeling the first time I lost my father... I take my time and calmly walk. I look at the trees as night slowly creeps, but my Passive Buff Dark Vision allows me to see in the dark. So I'm not worried. The path is winding and rocky, just like when coming in. After a few minutes, I'm out of the forest, and I look at the crops that are on either side of the path—most of its wheat. Horris Village is a farming province, after all. The path leads straight back to Horris.
With every step, my mind replays what I saw, what the Darkness did to test me... In a sense, it's what I did to test myself. I'll never forget this, a new painful memory to attach to the original... I lose track of time as I'm lost in my own head. I lift my head to see I'm on the outskirts of the small village. I can hear laughter and cheers coming from the village. I follow the sound, and I'm met with the small inn filled to the brim with people. None of them will know yet. No one will until the World Lore Tab comes out. Even then, people will have to look me up specifically.
In a way, I'm safe. I don't really have to worry about anyone finding me. I have to give them a reason to look me up in The World Lore Tab. If I don't give people a reason to do that 2 weeks from now, then I'm good. I have to be careful around everyone. NPC's included. They'll have access to it too when it comes out. I walk towards the inn, and people are drinking and dancing outside in the middle of the dirt path. Following the music being played from inside the inn. I'm not really in the party mood. I'm not a fan of alcohol either.
I walk past some of the dancing drunks and enter inside the inn. I make my way towards the bar to speak to the innkeeper. I don't have any gold on me. So all I can do is hope he'll give me a free place to sleep tonight. I make it to the counter after gently making my way past people. "What can I do for you?!" The man has a happy and energetic tone. I don't know what's happening here, but he seems to be giving all this stuff away for free. It must be some celebration. Devin wouldn't have experienced it since he got the class 2 years into the game.
Here goes nothing. I don't want to sleep on the floor or ground outside. "I was hoping that you have a room that's available! Sadly, I don't have any gold to pay you! I'm willing to help with something for payment!" I have to shout to get over the noise of the party happening all around me. The innkeeper just smiles and tosses me a room key. He points upstairs and tells me the first room on the right. He informs me that it won't be easy to sleep for the next couple of hours. I say my thanks and head up to my room.
I use the key to unlock the door, and I enter. I close the door behind me, and I head straight for the bed. I lay down and stare at the ceiling. I need to think about my next move. There aren't any stats like strength, speed, dexterity in Libertas. Skills both Magic and physical require mana. Mana is the most important thing. Without it, you wouldn't be able to use any of your skills. Gear and items are level locked. This means certain items and gear can't be used unless you reach a certain player level. There are items and gear out there that don't demand such a thing.
There is one item located in a dungeon 45 miles from here. Near the abandoned town of Nettleton. It's a Rare grade ring that boosts mana by 500 points. Players will learn that things start to get good once you reach the Rare grade tier. But also hard to come by. I need to be at least level 5 to enter the dungeon, but I can level up on my way there. Anything Rare grade and above will be worth lots of real-world and in-game money. The ring itself is called Sir Grant's ring. He was a mage that fought off an invasion of demons in that area. He lost, but he put up one hell of a fight.
