295. Pregnant
~Sometime ago~
"What happens to her, grandma?" asks Ben while watching Porlyusica checking Mira's body.
"Don't talk to me! I can't concentrate," says Porlyusica sternly, making Ben shut his mouth.
Sometime later, Porlyusica finishes the check-up, and then she sighs. Ben gulps his saliva nervously as Porlyusica turns around and looks at him with a serious expression.
"She is....," Porlyusica pauses there, making Ben more nervous.
"Pregnant," says Porlyusica very seriously, making Ben has a horror expression before he fully realizes what the granny has just said.
"Pre-pregnant? Mira is.... pregnant?" asks Ben with a stunned expression.
"Yeah, that's what I've just said. What happened to her before were just the symptoms of her pregnancy. It hasn't even been a week since she got pregnant, but the symptoms have appeared already. Well, she will be fine, she just needs to rest. Congratulation Ben," says Porlyusica while smiling, such a rare occasion.
Ben is still stunned though and his mind goes blank instantly.

Even AI Chip mocks him, but he still doesn't react at all. He is too stunned, shocked, surprised, dumbfounded, happy, worried, etc. All kinds of emotions are filling his heart that his mind just goes blank because of them.
Porlyusica waves her hand in front of Ben's stunned face, but he doesn't even blink. She sighs and pushes him out of her house so she can give proper treatment to Mira's pregnancy symptoms. Mira also needs to rest, so it will be bad if Ben suddenly wakes up.
He might scream or faint and fall on Mira. His presence is too dangerous for the pregnant woman because he might do something unpredictable. That's why the old woman chases Ben out of her house, it's not like she is annoyed by his idiotic stunned face, certainly not that.
Outside the treehouse, Ben is looking at the sky with a blank expression. His mind is still processing what has just happened. Then sometime later, his guildmates come, and the previous scene happens.
Ben finally back to his sense when Erza slaps him because he doesn't respond when they congratulate him. He looks around confusedly before his mind works well again. Then tears flow out of his eyes and he yells happily.
"WOOHOO, I WILL BE A DAD," yells Ben happily.
His voice is so loud that everyone needs to cover their ears. Porlyusica suddenly comes out with a very angry expression and hits Ben with a broom.
"YOU ARE DISTURBING YOUR PREGNANT WIFE!" yells Porlyusica before going back inside.
Ben shuts his mouth but his big smile can't disappear and he keeps mumbling that he'll be a father happily. The others sigh helplessly but then they smile happily. Ben & Mira have gone through a lot of disasters, but they've been very happy lately, so they all are happy too.
Mira is resting in Porlyusica's place that night to make sure that she is healthy. Ben stays by her side and helps her do everything to make sure she doesn't get tired. He is very excited about this whole thing and wants to make sure that his wife & baby are healthy.
The old doctor teaches Mira & Ben things about pregnancy and raising children. Ben notes all of them in a notebook, something that he never did because he has AI Chip. But he feels that he needs to note them himself while also asking AI Chip to note them.
3 days later, Mira's conditions improve, and her bad symptoms disappear. They just need to make sure that Mira doesn't get tired but also needs to work out a little so that she'll stay healthy. Ben promises to make sure they do all the tips from Porlyusica before taking Mira home.
He doesn't use teleportation because he is worried that the effect might be bad for Mira. They use Light Runner, but Ben drives very slowly because he wants to be as careful as possible. Mira is giggling seeing Ben drives so carefully to make sure the ride is comfortable.
"You don't need to be this careful, you know. This is still the 2nd week of pregnancy, so it should be fine if you drive as usual. Light Runner is the best car you've ever made and it's very comfortable at any speed. So there won't be a problem if you go a little faster," says Mira.
"No! The baby is still too young, they are still very vulnerable," says Ben very seriously with his eyes glued on the road.
"Sigh, alright, alright, just do what you want, Papa," says Mira teasingly.
Ben still has his serious expression, but his lips curl a little hearing what she calls him. Mira keeps giggling before enjoying the slow & comfortable ride. She keeps rubbing her stomach while smiling.
After getting home, Ben escorts Mira like a knight escorting his Queen. He doesn't even let her open the doors and carry her in his arms when they climb the stairs. Mira sighs, but still lets him do it because he looks very happy.
Their siblings return from the guild right after they get home. So Ben gathers them and gives them tasks to do during Mira's pregnancy. They all need to make sure that nothing goes wrong during that time.
"Listen! Grandma Porlyusica has taught me the things that we need to look out for during Mira's pregnancy. We need to keep the house clean all day, but it's too big for us to clean it by ourselves, and we have jobs to do. So I will hire some workers to clean the house. I will also hire some workers to take care of chores. So I need you guys to stay by Mira's side and take care of her needs."
"We will take jobs at different times. You guys stay as a team. When I take jobs, you guys stay at home, and when you guys take jobs, I will stay home. Learn everything in this note so nothing will go wrong. Let's make sure that Mira and the baby stay healthy," says Ben very seriously.
Elfman, Lisanna, Wendy, Bella, & Carla nod very seriously too. Just like Ben, they are very excited about this. Ben then tells the younger ones to accompany Mira while he will search for workers to do house chores.
The siblings go to meet Mira in the bedroom immediately after Ben left. They are curious about many things, so they want to ask Mira about them. She giggles seeing them all excited, so she tells them everything that she knows.
The next day, 5 maids and 2 gardeners arrive at their house. They are the workers that Ben has found the previous day. He has done some thorough check-ups on them and they are clean, so he chose them.
The maids will take care of house chores from cleaning, cooking, and anything else. The gardeners will keep everything outside of the house clean & tidy. That's why the gardeners are men because their jobs are very tiring.
"Didn't you find a job a few days ago? Why don't you go to do it?" asks Mira at Ben because he keeps staying beside her for a few days.
"I didn't take it, the job isn't important right now," says Ben with a rather haggard face.
"Sigh, I know my health is more important, and you want to stay beside me all the time to make sure I & our baby are fine. But you don't look fine, you look very tired. You have accumulated a lot of stress these days because you keep worrying. I will be fine, Elfman & co are here, and our friends keep coming to check on me. Bisca has taught me many things so I will be fine. I am not a weak woman, you know. I am an S-Class Mage, so I will be fine, and I'll make sure our baby will be fine," says Mira.
"But-," says Ben.
"Go take that job, Ben. You need to release that stress. Besides, this job will help you get stronger, right? What if you aren't strong enough when Acnologia appears again? Who will protect our baby if you can't?" asks Mira.
Ben gets silent before nodding. Mira smiles and pats his head. She tells her to sleep for now and the next day, he takes the job to hunt an Etherious Demon.
