425. Dragon Annihilation

To handle the flying Dragon, Ben orders his group members to use long-range attacks. The ones who use magic guns and bows are doing fine, but the ones who use melee weapons are having a hard time. They can't just stand around though, so they need to do something.

Ben tells them to channel their magic power through their melee magic weapons to shoot long-range attacks. He gives an example by creating a magic slash that flies toward the Bronze Dragon. It's a weak one though, so it doesn't injure the Dragon badly.

The melee fighters try it and they get a hang of it after some try. Of course, they still can't create strong attacks, but at least now they can continue the battle. They are aiming for the Dragon's wings while also evading its attacks with Ben's help.

However, it's still too difficult for them to defeat a Dragon by themselves. Well, they are still new to this. The other non-Dragon Slayers who joined before them were also like this at first. Using Dragon weapons to create attacks is consuming quite a lot of energy, that's why they got tired fast.

With them unable to continue the fight because of tiredness, Ben is forced to end the battle himself. He slays the Bronze Dragon by creating multiple massive solar javelins that pierce through the Dragon's body from all sides, effectively killing it even while it flies.

"You guys are improving, but it's still not enough to defeat Dragons. Review what we did today so that you'll get ready fast. The Dragons won't care about your conditions. They will kill you if you show weakness. We will keep hunting Dragons every day, so make sure you're ready tomorrow."

They return to their hideout after Ben takes the Bronze Dragon materials and turns the rest of its body into a Dragon Lacrima. It is better to make a Dragon Lacrima from an intact corpse, but he also needs the material. The leftover parts are still enough to make an incomplete Dragon Lacrima which is still very useful to make weapons.

Ben is upgrading their weapons using Dragon Lacrimas. But he'll only upgrade the weapons of the earlier members who have more experience. It's because he wants them to have the necessary skills first before using powerful weapons infused with Dragon Lacrimas.

One Dragon Lacrima can be used to make around 10 powerful Dragon Weapons. But for the S-Class level Mages, they are given weapons that have 1 whole Dragon Lacrima in them. They can handle those weapons' drawbacks like high magic power consumption that can deplete normal Mages' magic power after a few active usages.

Weapons aren't the only things that need their magic power, after all. Their armor and even their movements need magic power because they are facing Dragons. They need to enhance everything they do with magic in order to avoid being hit by the Dragons.

Ben upgrades their weapons as they hunt more Dragons on Guiltina. They use space barriers, but he knows that sooner or later, Acnologia will find out about their sneak attacks. But while he doesn't know, they can use this chance to get more materials and train the Dragon Hunters.

Some people fall in their hunts. No one can guarantee that everyone will stay alive till the end, and everyone is ready anyway. They can only do their best to minimize the casualties. But having their comrades die in a war is normal, so they can accept it easily.

No Dragon Slayer died though because they are more suited for this war. Besides, they are the main weapons against the Dragons. So everyone else is trying to protect them when they are in danger. Without the Dragon Slayers, their chance to defeat the Dragons will drop.

The Dragon Hunters keep hunting the Dragons on Guiltina. But soon, their hunt gets noticed by the remaining Dragons. Acnologia orders them to gather because they are attacked separately. The Dragons' pride is high, so not all of them are following the command.

Some Dragons think that they can handle the hunters by themselves, so they don't gather with the main group. Obviously, they fall victim to the Dragon Hunters who have gotten much stronger after hunting many Dragons.

Ben knows that Acnologia has realized that the Dragons are being hunted now. Many were disappearing without any traces, after all. So he obviously noticed such a strange occurrence. He couldn't afford to lose too many subordinates, so he ordered the rest to gather around him.

Besides, people who can kill Dragons are hindrances to him and his plan to destroy the world. So he needs to remove them as fast as possible. They will come to him sooner if he gathers all the Dragon in one place.

Ben doesn't have any problem with that because everyone is ready for the main war. It will just become more troublesome to fight thousands of Dragons at once rather than a few at a time. But with their weapons getting upgraded, they will have a much higher chance to win even against thousands of Dragons.

Still, the Dragon Hunters hunt the groups of Dragon that don't gather around Acnologia until there are no small groups left. It will both reduce the number of Dragons and annoy Acnologia. The Dragon King is surely annoyed that some Dragons ignored his order which made the hunters ignore him too.

He wants to have a good battle too after so long and the Dragon Hunters will surely give him that. Though he also has a very unpleasant feeling as the massive burn scar that spans from his neck to his waist is itching. This scar was caused by this timeline Ben in the last battle that killed Ben.

But that scar won't just itch anymore, it will feel hurt once more because Ben will really show up. The war preparation has finished, so the Dragon Hunters will attack the Dragons' main group soon. They are just waiting for the best time to attack the Dragons.

Some days after the last small group of Dragons gets exterminated, the Dragon Hunters finally start their attack. But Ben is appearing alone near the main Dragon nest. He is hovering high in the air while hiding his presence as he observes the Dragons.

"1,743 Dragons in total. The strongest presence must be Acnologia, there are 13 that are as strong as Dragon Kings. The rest is just normal dragons that are more powerful than the average normal Dragons. This will be fun."

Ben smirks before he uses Space Magic to open space storage. Hundreds of lacrima crystals of various colors fly out of it and move quite high in the sky. They spread all over the Dragon nest and obviously get noticed by the Dragons.

"Well, let's reduce their number first. Thanks for these Dragon Lacrimas, I will use them well."

The lacrima crystals that hover in the sky are the Dragon Lacrimas Ben made using the dead Dragons. He will use them to create a very wide-scale attack to kill a lot of Dragons at once. The Dragon Lacrimas glow brightly and alert the Dragons, but it's too late.

"Dragon Slayer Ultimate Art! Rage of The Dragon Lord: Dragon Annihilation!"

*Zzt* ..... *BOOMMMMM*

A massive explosion engulfs the whole Dragon nest and the Dragons there. The shockwave is spreading everywhere, but strangely, it stops right in front of Ben and doesn't hit him. The same thing happens in a very wide circular area.

The whole Dragon nest area has been covered by Ben's space barrier. Even the Dragons didn't realize it because Ben cast it when he released the Dragon Lacrimas. It took the Dragons' attention, so they didn't notice the barrier.

From the outside, it looks like a massive explosion happening in a tight dome. There's no leak of energy, so the full power of the explosion is trapped in the dome. It will make the Dragons take the full damage with their bodies.

Even Ben himself wouldn't take that attack with his body and would use magic to defend. So he knows that there won't be many surviving Dragons. But the ones who survived will be the toughest opponent they'll ever face in this war.

The Dragon Hunters who wait from far away can see the massive explosion. They tremble as they think about whether Ben really needs their help to end this war or not. But then they remember what Ben always told them that they need to fight for their own freedom and he is just helping them.

"Everyone, get ready! The explosion is subsiding. We'll start the attack soon."

Wendy shouts to remind everyone in the group that they'll start attacking. Everyone gets ready while looking at the explosion smoke that starts to disappear. Ben also keeps looking at the explosion area and after a while, the smoke finally becomes thin enough for him to see the result.

The first thing he notices is the destroyed forest that now becomes a massive hole. He scans the area using his magic sense and feels that most of the normal Dragons have died or gotten weakened a lot. The contained explosion of hundreds of Dragon Lacrimas has a massive impact that can change the terrain, so the normal Dragons won't be able to handle it.

Ben senses that there are still 24 normal Dragons left alive, but all of them are gravely injured with 3 barely alive. The 13 Dragon King level Dragons only get weakened a bit, while Acnologia barely gets weakened. When Ben takes a closer look, he can see that the Dragon Kings & Acnologia were using normal Dragons as shields.

He couldn't see it happened before the explosion, so the normal Dragons must've been moved to block the impact using a spell by one of the Dragon Kings. Acnologia might rule the Dragons, but Ben knows he doesn't have the power to move other Dragons like that.

"Well, well, well, I've expected this, but I have hope that you won't be here, Irene."

Ben can see Irene in her Dragon form among the remaining Dragons. Now he is sure that the one who strengthened the Dragons was Irene. But he doesn't care about that now because his focus is still on the most troublesome enemy, Acnologia whose power has become scary enough to make Ben nervous.

"Damn, he is almost twice as strong as when I killed the one in my timeline."
