Chapter 6:

All of Ming Xiayu's complaints towards the quest disappeared then and there. 'Motherfucker, I have finally become a protagonist!' He read the details.

[ Protagonist's Aura(Epic-Tier Aura): The owner's chances of favorable events occurring are increased. In addition, people will find the owner more charming and his presence more known. ]

Ming Xiayu internally pumped his fist. Although he was unclear about what the first line entailed, he knew that he became more handsome.

For him, whose ideal life was living in laziness while being spoiled by women, a good face meant that he would be successful in both business and love affairs. After all, that was how the world worked.

Of course, Ming Xiayu thought. A Protagonist's Aura was destined to be special, hence he did not doubt the system evaluation of it being Epic-Tier.

In his own happiness, he did not realize it but the crowd had suddenly grown even larger.

Looking around in confusion, he saw that all of them were staring at him with strange expressions. Most of the looks came from females, but there were also a few males here and there.

Meeting eyes with the males instinctively made Ming Xiayu uncomfortable, though he did not know why. He wanted any reason to leave. Thankfully, it seemed that the old lady had already left, no longer needing his supervision.

That was when he remembered that he was late for school, as he hopped back onto his back and pedaled away. Thankfully, no one chased him. Still, that did not stop them from watching his back disappear over the horizon.

After that, they all seemed to break out of a trance, sighing and continuing with their day.

In one shadowy alley, a hooded figure with a small, white hand peered out. Even after Ming Xiayu disappeared from view, it continued to gaze with curious eyes.

Arriving at his classroom door, he was extremely thankful for the system as unlike what he expected, the guards did not make it hard for him despite being late.

On the contrary, they were extremely nice to him. Ming Xiayu believed that if he were to ask whether he could stay over at their house or not, they would likely say yes.

Ming Xiayu knew that this was the effect of the Protagonist's Aura.

As Ming Xiayu looked at the closed door in front of him hiding indiscreet murmurs, he mustered up his bravery. 'So what if I'm a little late? I'm the protagonist and the protagonist always makes a late, flashy entry.'

Thinking along these lines, his shame flew out the window as he swung open the door and walked in with a sunny smile.

Of course, the Protagonist's Aura could only do so much. He was still scolded by the math teacher, however, it was not too harsh compared to what he remembered of his past life's school days.

After a lengthy complaint, the teacher finally heaved a sigh as he let Ming Xiayu do a self introduction.

Unsure of what introduction to give, Ming Xiayu decided to just be normal. "Hello, future classmates. My name is Ming Xiayu, Xiayu as in 'Rain.' I have no real likes or dislikes but I am always up for good fun. At that time, I hope you all can include me, thanks."

The class was deathly silent, causing Ming Xiayu to worry if he messed up his self-introduction. After that, he sat next to a rather pretty but cold-looking girl in the back. Next to the window, of course.

For the rest of the day, no one spoke a word to him, including the teachers. However, he could feel their gazes on him constantly, Although he kept a smiling expression, Ming Xiayu could feel some sweat on his forehead.

When class ended, still no one talked to him as they ran through the classroom exit as if they were escaping some grave terror.

Ming Xiayu was slightly depressed by this. 'What shitty protagonist is this? The Ring movie?'

Feeling the need to talk to somebody, anybody, lest his highschool youth be over before they began, he looked over to his left at the cold beauty, the only one still in the classroom with him.

As he opened his mouth, the girl directly gathered her books and left without a word.

Ming Xiayu had wallowed in sadness for a bit. 'Huh? I'm not crying, you are!'

Thus began his eventful school life.
