Hopeless Examinee

All the examinees spread out. They pick their own place after getting a wooden sword given by the squires surrounding them. Their hands trembled at the thought of swinging the heavy wooden sword for an hour.

The NPC examinees have frustration written all over their faces. The information they got from the early examinees was off! The wooden sword should only weigh five pounds, yet what was on their hands was twice of what they mentioned.

The female players on the other hand were confused. They felt like they were only holding a paper-weighted wooden sword. It wasn't as heavy as what the NPCs have been reacting to.

"Late starts are not counted. You'll immediately fail this round if you do! As a knight, we do not wait for our enemies to attack us. The first to attack determines the winner. Those who would be able to stand and not tremble until the end of the time will pass."

"Level 1 Examination, commence!"

All examinees busied themselves, focusing to stabilize their stamina until the end. They strike the air weakly to preserve more energy until the last hour.

More than half of the examinees stopped swinging their wooden swords 15 minutes after level 1 of the examination started. Those who persevered were either doing good, gritting their teeth, or almost dying.

At the end of level 1, only 78 people passed. However, those who failed could still make a comeback.

Most of the examinees were lying on the floor, gasping for air. Fortunately, those who felt like they were dying stopped when they felt their sight was running on its own.

On level 2, the examinees faced one practice dummy each. They thought it would be easy, however, the practice dummy seemed to be made of tungsten. No matter how heavy or plenty of their attacks, only a few of them could scratch on it.

At level 2, 111 examinees passed. Only 26 were able to pass. They are sure to pass even if they failed the last level.

Shadow fighting in the third level would determine the fighting reflexes of the examinee. It was pleasing to hear that they would only need to fight a version of themselves that boosted with 300% of their current ability.

Each of the examinees was given a black stone. It has an irregular shape in palm-size, white specks of dust glimmered as the light shone on it.

「Carbon Obsidian: Create a carbon copy of the holder's physical features; Obtain 100% of the original's basic attributes; Receive 300% Boost of Attributes for 10 minutes; Specifically crafted for examination purposes.」

Frinces stared emptily at the banner hanging in front of her. 'So I have no choice but to stay focus on this part of the examination?'

She thoughtfully queried herself as she watched the obsidian in her hand glow. The glowing light tendrils oozing from the obsidian pervaded her skin, giving a warm and cold feeling.

She stared in front of her. A replica was slowly forming in front of her.

「Error! Copying the Special Character is restricted」

"..."

Everyone whose eyes focused on her was speechless. Their eyes widened thrice than their original sizes.

They couldn't believe their eyes as they definitely saw how hopeless Frinces was!

On the first level, she stayed idle until the last minute of the allocated time. She had no plan to take the exam seriously. But they immediately repealed their thoughts. Maybe she would finish the two levels perfectly.

They couldn't prejudice the examinee whose background was unknown to them. After all, they have a unique rule for Knight Examination. Only when one passed the test would they be able to register their names to the management. They didn't want to know or reminisce the failures who lacked the skills.

They better be rogue cultivators.

However, on the second level, that examinee only hit the practice dummy once. Then she halted. She didn't spare much effort into getting serious about being a knight. They were just wasting their time and also wasting their resources.

No one noticed the unnoticeable dent that appeared on her very practice dummy. It was inconspicuous and only when one looked at it keenly will they be able to see.

Now in this third round, they were expecting her to, at least, get serious about the examination. Even at just that level, they would be happy.

What they hated the most was when someone didn't know how to remain gratified by the things they receive without paying a hefty amount of resources.

But what luck could the girl have? She was just holding the obsidian for around near a minute but it suddenly broke into specks of dust.

Or… What monstrous strength could she have?

Before level 3 ended, by the order of Knight Janu and permission of Grand Knight Wauker, the squire was permitted to give another spare of Minic Obsidian to her.

Holding the stone in her hand, Frinces was confused. Didn't she already get one and break it?

Her eyes darted at the stage in front. Most of their attention was on her.

Frinces blinked and looked somewhere, acting that she coincidentally looked at the front.

'Ah! What have I done?' Frinces screamed in her mind. She wanted to hide in a hole to avoid those eyes.

They seemed to be expecting anything from her. Isn't she showing them how lousy she is?

She let them see that her capability to knighthood was meager.

After swinging the sword, she showed them laziness and tiredness. She hit the practice dummy to show them how weakling she was. And unintentionally at this time, she showed them how reckless she was.

Then, what are they expecting from her? Shouldn't the NPCs be programmed to look into others and not just her?

Excuse me! She was not alone here, so many examinees were struggling to pass the test. If they kept their eyes on her, they wouldn't able to catch the cheater, if there was.

The stone glowed and broke again.

Frinces helplessly sighed. It was just resting on her palm and it destroyed itself. What a waste.

In a minute, Knight Janu declared the end of the examination. Those who failed to pass in two levels sadly slumped on the ground. The other players also logged out, not interested in what would happen.

Those who passed walked in the front with big smiles on their faces. Traces of fatigue disappeared knowing their results.

Grand Knight Wauker had just broken his attention from Prince, yet he could no longer see her.

His beautifully arched brows furrowed. He looked from afar and saw the tall figure walking away from the examination grounds.

He's sure that she intended to do those tricks and even dared to play in front of him.

'Heh… Interesting.'

"My guest, what are you hurrying to go for?"

「Affinity to Grand Knight Wauker increased to 3」

Frinces paused in her steps. She didn't hear what the Grand Knight said but she saw her affinity to the third boss increased!

Why can't he just leave her alone!
