Assassin of Ice (3)

I spread out my wings. Oh they looked so much cooler than my ones from the past.

Flying, how to describe it. Like what you would dream of but also different. Like have new arm muscles in your back. The scenery zipped past below us as Blank and I headed for Deck's location.

Below us the ground slowly changed from lush green to dead. The dark graveyards entire surrounding area was the dark forest. The sky grew more overcast and the clouds started to thicken. Even though it was not late out, the entire place became the same as night.

In the distance I spotted the edge of the graveyard. The entire place was 10 square miles. Not a hangout for people scared of ghosts.

I headed for the southern part of the graveyard. Within another few minutes of flying I spotted Deck. He was surrounded by zombies rising up the graves. A very standard occurrence in these parts.

Had the wings improved my eyesight? I felt like I could see further than before. Maybe a hidden stat? Those were also rare.

I watched a decaying hand shoot up from the ground. It was followed by a horrid body that should never have seen fresh air again. Deck was a shield type and was taking the majority of the damage from the beast waves. Beside him were two others. LoveStruck and Avian9?

What were they doing as a group? Those were two different guilds. In fact I don't think I had ever really seen them do team ups because of their sizes. There was no reason to.

That aside, not like it was important. Avian9 seemed injured which would explain why Deck hadn't just left yet. Figures he had a soft heart, playing shield for the injured shield. Why'd he have to call us though? Couldn't that silly warrior girl kill off the mobs?

As we landed I saw Deck staring at my wings.

"Dude! The two of you look epic with those! Where did you get them, spill!" Deck yelled as he blocked another zombie.

I waved some ice freezing the nearest five zombies. Blank was being a pyromaniac and burning down the graveyard. Maybe the dead would stick a few curses on him. I smirked as I pictured a dead soul cursing him for overheating their home.

Within a few minutes we had suppressed the zombies. Another wave would launch in probably five minutes if the game still had its standard spawn time.

I smirked at Deck "Secret" I said.

Sadly at the same time Blank said "The orb gave them, we just happened to be teamed at the time."

I saw Deck give me a look that said 'you should just marry the guy.' I rolled my eyes back at him.

"So needy summoning me for a pack of zombies." I said.

"You know shields have no attack power!" whined Deck.

"What of the mage?" I motioned to LoveStruck.

"Ran out." She replied. "I love your wings you look quite handsome in them."

"Uh thanks?" I replied. To myself I muttered about how she should go adore Blanks wings.

"Can I touch them?" she asked.

"No." I replied firmly. She looked like she wanted to pout and I ignored her. When had she gotten so clingy? Go touch Blanks wings you germy female!

Blank was checking on Avian9 who had a damaged leg. He looked gross, I would have to leave the first aid to Blank. In game didn't affect me as badly but I had no intention of willingly toughing other gross and potentially hazardous humans, flesh or code.

"You know RoyalBlue, if you're ever feeling lonely or just want some company, you should let me know. I'm more than willing to spend time outside of our new 'job' with you." LoveStruck was watching me.

Oh great, I thought. So she does have a crush on me. Isn't she supposed to be the cold ruler of the WinterRoses?

"Apologies, but I prefer to be alone." I replied.

Just great now I had two annoying crushes to deal with. I shot a glance at Blank who was wrapping Avian9's injury. I should have just stayed away from everyone and pretended to be mute.

The next wave of zombies started to spawn and I started to turn them into popsicles. Using my magic had made it much stronger over time. If I wanted I might be able to just freeze the nearest 100 feet.

Avian9 kept looking at LoveStruck with puppy dog eyes. I snorted slightly to myself. If you want her go get her pal, she is 100% available. Please do me a favor and attract all her attention. One potential headache is more than enough for me.

In fact if you're into males please by all means try seducing Blank as well while you're at it. Just go make yourself a harem of both. Hmm could I help him create that? Then I could just send all my potential 'lovers' to him.

A rather dark smirk crossed my face. How about I make you a harem whether you want it or not?

We headed back toward the nearest town as a group. Sadly for me both Blank and LoveStruck remained interested in me more than Avian9. Come on guys! The poor guy is injured! Go shower him in all your love and affection.

I glared and dodged LoveStruck's nonchalant attempt to hold my hand. I need a fly swatter that works on humans.

We decided to get dinner as a group as well. Blank signed me up before I had a chance to refuse. What a pain. They better give me the corner seat.

I sat munching my tacos with a vengeance. How long was this going to take? I watched the others eating their food. Honestly eating as a group isn't very efficient. You waste time waiting for the slowest eater and you have to engage in friendly chatter. Or you can be me and just not.

I sat quietly watching them. This was taking forever. That and food prepared by others can hold so many germs if you aren't careful. At least in game NPCs are not germy. If they weren't I might have to just burry myself in the ground and starve.

I finished my food quickly to avoid any accidental contamination then just sat while bored, watching the others. Avian9 had a bad habit of talking with his mouth full. Words cannot describe the level of gross from that. LoveStruck picked her teeth at one point making me cringe.

Blank though, why just why, he did so many little things, but none of them annoyed me. I'll just have to classify him as an anomaly. He doesn't make any rational sense.

"Hey Royal you want to fetch more fries?" Avian9 held up the empty basket.

I glared at it for a solid second before grabbing the smallest tip that I could. I carried it to the counter to order a new one. Jokes on him, I was totally going to eat a few of the new ones before giving it to him.

The new batch came and I ate a quick ten before returning to the table. Nice and salty, they had a slight herb arrangement on them as well. I handed the basket to Avian with a scowl.

"Get you own food next time." I purposefully ate another fry before he got his grimly fingers on them.

Heheh the look he gave me was totally worth it. I drank another sip of my water to wear down the salt. So salty, I drank several more sips while examining the scenery in this specific restaurant. The laptop game mode had nothing on the dive in terms of details.

I noticed Avian watching me intently. He really was so weird. Suddenly my eyes seemed to spin for a second and I blinked. What? Was Avian9 grinning? I glanced down at my water. It was slightly cloudy! Had he put something in it?

I felt sick. Not so much from whatever was in the water, the stuffs effect was low. No my mind started playing through all the thoughts of what 'could' be in my water.

"Be back." I muttered quickly getting to my feet.

Blank looked up at me, "You good? You look pale?"

"Fine" I replied already headed toward the bathroom.

I slipped into one of the far stalls and stared at the toilet. Focus, I thought, I am clean, completely clean. He just stuck some dumb drug in it as a prank or something.

I started fumbling with my inventory to pull out one of my anti-poison potions just in case when a wave of nausea hit me. Shadows danced alone my eyes as I dropped the potion. It fell to the ground and shattered spreading liquid all over.
