The wailing didn't stop for more than an hour. Anna laid on her bed, staring blankly at the ceiling. Not sure of what to do, whether to comfort the poor butler or stay away from him. There was a great chance that Serafin was too upset to even listen to her explanation, and might even try to attack her for what she did. Those footsteps she heard earlier were a good indication of a good ass-kicking if she opened that door.

Anna contemplated on things, since her guilt was poking at her like an annoying sibling who just wants to pester her by enumerating all the bad things she did. The cries of the poor middle-aged man kept playing in her head. His voice of agony and pain over those pets that she devoured stabbed her down to the bone.
