Chapter 92

After a few pages, she had to pause again as she took a sip of the cold beverage. The afternoon sun was demurely hiding amongst the clouds, giving a shady and cooler afternoon. Anna's mind began to wonder as she began eating the tarts. It has been more than a few days since her last hunt and her monster was still silent.

It was a rare occurrence to her, especially because she had always dreaded the monster's sudden awakening. The monster's insatiable appetite was something she was frightened about every time she went on for a hunt. It just ate and ate until it devoured herds of game and livestock.

What if the monster ate everything inside that forest? What would it do then? She knew the answer to that. It would hunt the nearby villages and if it met some unlucky soul along the way, either human or animal, their fate would end the same way… inside her stomach.
