The loud ethereal voices woke up Anna. She opened her eyes, only to be welcomed by the darkness veiling her sight. She turned her head, desperately looking for a sliver of light. However, that bright ray never came. The world she woke up on was darker than the night.
Anna felt a cold liquid embracing her body. It was thick and heavy, too viscous for her to move. It served as her shackle as the voices became louder, as if the people chanting it were getting closer to her.
She tried opening her mouth, but the cold, viscous liquid muffled her voice, gagging her only means of salvation. Despair immediately came to her. Her screams of help were lost in the dark water, never able to surface.
The voices were getting closer until it was overwhelmingly loud. It felt like the people were standing atop of her, looking at her from beyond the darkness. She wasn't able to see them, but she felt their presence.
