I slept well on the bed. But my mind kept wondering if Xavier was sleeping peacefully. He was.


The next morning I woke up to a loud alarm. Which I stopped, Xavier was still sleeping peacefully. But his eyes opened.


He got up and went to the bathroom. It was just 6 in the morning. But I could hear Mom, Dad and Gigi. Xavier came out in suit. I realized it was Monday. But I wanted to spend some time with my new family!


"Is it okay if I don't go to work today?"


I went into the bathroom and got ready. I wore a nude pink maxi dress and went down.


Everyone was seated at the table. They looked at me and smiled. Xavier was there too.


They seemed like they were in a middle of conversation.


"Xavier no please, you're not going to the company today" she said sternly.


"Ughh...okay" Noah was laughing as he came to me.


"Staci, see your husband wants to go to work just the day after your marriage" He said.


"I said I'll not go. Drop it Noah" he said sternly.


"Honey, what are your plans for today?" Mom asked.


I still wasn't sure if she would like if I called her mum.


I smiled. "Mom, I was thinking I will spend some time with my bestie....then we both can go somewhere."


"Bestie? Does she live near by?" Mom asked.


"I'm the one she's talking about" Gigi said voluntarily. And everyone laughed, even Xavier.


"Okay then, but you should spend more time with Xavier, It's okay if we don't go out today"


"Mom don't worry they have ALL the time in their bedroom" Noah said.


"Mom, Xavier can come with me and Gigi"


Anastasia was really good with my family. Everyone liked her, especially Gigi. My Gigi got a new bestie.


After the breakfast, dad left for office. Noah went to sleep as he was awake all night and mom went to meet some of her friends.


Anastasia got up and took Gigi's wheelchair before I could. And started walking towards the garden. I followed them.


Talking as she walked," Gigi, you must get well soon. I want to take you to many places"


Gigi was never so positive before. She made me marry because she thought she was gonna die soon, because of her heart problem. But Anastasia had made her stop thinking about death in just one day.


"Gigi, what's your favourite ice cream flavour?"


I've not seen Gigi so happy since she got diagnosed with heart problems. 


Seeing Anastasia smile made me smile too.


After a walk of half an hour, we took Gigi back to the house. Told her to get some rest and went to our bedroom as no one else was in the house.


"I've never seen Gigi this positive before ,thanks" I said as we entered the room.


"I know you're not very comfortable with this wedding...but now that I'm married to you, your family is mine too...And Gigi is like my best friend. And I'm sure she'll be fine" 


I looked at her and smiled. She smiled back.
