Lady.

Storm's P.O.V-

Today's the day Roman and I go to find our perfect little girl. After two years of marriage we both felt as though we were missing something, don't get me wrong I love Roman but we both want, no, need someone we can take care of.

I should probably tell you a little about ourselves, my name is Storm Russo, I'm twenty six, dark blonde hair, blue eyes and I happen to be covered in tattoos. Roman on the other hand has only a few tattoos, golden brown hair and green eyes. We both live in a medium sized house on the outskirts of Cambridge and own our own tattoo parlour.

On a different note let's get on with the day. Sitting up in bed I check my phone and see that it is nine in the morning, leaving us with an hour to get ready before we are supposed to meet a lady named Maggie who owns the orphanage we will be visiting. Getting out of bed I head for the kitchen making myself and Ro a cuppa before heading back to our room to take a quick shower. Once the tea is made I swiftly move back towards our room, managing not to spill anything on the way, kicking the door open I notice Ro isn't in sight so assuming he's nicked the shower before I can, I make my way to the other bathroom down the hall.

After showering and changing into jeans and a plain t-shirt I move towards the kitchen to eat a quick breakfast before we go.

"Ro!, are you ready?" I yell, hoping he hurries up.

"Calm down I'm here, why're you so excited anyway?"

"Because" I draw out. "We're getting our little girl today"

"You don't know that for sure, don't get your hopes up" he grumbles. 'Always so negative'

"You're always so negative, for once can you just slap a smile on your face and be excited about something?"

"Fine" he rolls his eyes. "But don't come crying to me when we leave empty handed again"

"I won't, I have a good feeling about this" I grin before walking out the door not waiting for his reply.

I'm soo excited, I don't know what it is but I just have this incredible feeling that something amazing will happen today. Hopping into the passenger seat of our car I wait anxiously for Ro to start driving,

I swear he's like an old man walking extra slow just to annoy me.  "Finally!" I all but yell when we start driving.  "Don't start acting bratty or I'll turn this car around and we won't go" he snaps.  "Sorry" I pout.  "Just don't let it happen again".  I decide it's probably better I don't say anything, I don't want to have any arguments today.

We drove for what felt like hours but in reality was no more than half an hour before finally reaching our destination.  'Miss. Maggie's home for boys and girls' is written on a huge sign outside the rather large but old looking building, if you didn't know what it was you'd probably assume it's abandoned, the paint on the outside walls is peeling and some of the windows have cracks in.

"Are you sure this is the place?" Ro asks looking confused.

"The sign says so" I shrug while glancing around.

"Maybe if we knock on the door we will find out"

"Okay" We park up and both walk towards the door, Ro knocks on the door and we both wait patiently for someone to answer.  "Maybe no one is home" I say, looking through one of the windows.

"Or, they just didn't hear us knock"

"I suppose"  Before either of us can knock again a woman in her late thirties opens the door looking a little tired.  "I'm so sorry for making you wait, I had to sort an issue out" the lady explains.  "That's okay, are you Maggie?" I ask with a smile.  "I am, you must be Roman and Storm, yes?"

"That's us, it's nice to meet you I'm Storm and that's Roman" I say pointing to my grumpy husband.  "It's nice to meet you both" she grins. "Why don't you both come in and we can have a little chat about what you're looking for" she says slightly moving out of the way. "Thanks".

Maggie leads us towards her office which was surprisingly a lot more presentable and clean than the front of the house, in fact the inside of the house is beautiful, dark hard wood floors, cream coloured walls and modern furniture. Maggie tells us to take a seat while she fetches a few sheets of paper work.

"Okay, tell me what it is you're both looking for"

"Well, we would like to adopt a girl if possible" I say glancing at Ro to make sure I'm right.

"Okay, am I right to assume this will be a permanent thing and not just a spur of the moment, because frankly I don't know either of you and my kids are my life, I'd hate anything bad to happen to any of them"

"Of course, we have been looking for our girl for about a year now" I explain, my tone turning to a sad one as I remember all the days we'd come home disappointed. "We've decided that if we don't find her this time we will stop searching and maybe try again later"

"That's all I need to know, let's go and meet the girls" she says grinning as she gets up and opens the door. "That'll be great!".

We follow Maggie to a medium sized room, on the door it says 'play room'.

"As you can see this is the play room, most of the younger girls spend their time in here whereas the elder girls stay in their rooms"

"How many girls are there?" Ro asks.

"There are six in total"

"Great, let's meet them!"

"Girls!, come here please" Maggie shouts causing five heads to whip around startled.

"Miss. Maggie!, who are they?" A short red headed girl asks.

"This is Storm and Roman, they're here to meet each of you and hopefully adopt one of you"

"Really?!" The girl squeals.

"Yes!"

"Hi!, I'm Lily, would you like to meet the others?"

"We'd love that sweetie" I say smiling at her as she grabs my hand and pulls me towards the others.

"I'll be back in half an hour to see how you're getting on, girls, behave!" Maggie says before walking away.

"Hi, I'm Tina" a girl with short black hair says.

"Nice to meet you Tina, would you mind introducing us to your friends?"

"Okay, you've met Lily, the girl with the long brown hair is Tilly, next to her is Violet and lastly is Ria" Tina explains pointing to each girl.

"It's nice to meet you all, I'm Storm and this is my husband Roman"

"Hi!" They all shout.

As the half an hour goes by we get to know each of the girls and although they're nice, unfortunately they're just not what we're looking for. Standing up with yet another disappointed look on my face we say goodbye to the girls and head off to find Maggie.

As we turn the corner in the direction of Maggie's office we hear a small squeal and some giggles, I quickly put my arm out in front of Ro motioning with my finger for him to be quiet as I listen in on the conversation a couple of feet away from us.

"Miss. Maggie!, I did it!, I got another medal and certificate" the small girl says excited.

"That's great baby!, did you remember to point your toes and smile?"

"Yes!, they said I had the most beautiful smile they'd ever seen!"

"Wow!, that's great, did they give you any feedback?"

"They said they want to see me do something different next time, maybe tap or modern dance"

"We will have to work on that won't we"

"Definitely!"

"Okay sweetie, I've got to go and check on our guests now, why don't you wait in my office for me"

"Okay!"

The small girl runs off in the direction of Maggie's office and we carry on walking around the corner and down the hallway. I can tell from the way Ro is frowning that he is thinking hard about the girl we had just seen, she was beautiful, long turquoise hair, cute round face and a curvy but slim figure with tattoos covering both arms. She's dressed in a black tulle dress with worn out ballet shoes on her small feet. 'How can someone dress like an angel but look like a sin?'.

"Ah!, I'm so sorry for keeping you waiting again" Maggie apologises.

"No need to apologise, we just came to let you know that unfortunately none of the girls are what we're looking for" Roman tells her with a sad expression on his face.

"Oh, I'm sad to hear that"

"Miss. Maggie!!" The small girl from before comes rushing out of the office, tears pouring from her eyes and her lip trembling.

"What happened?!"

"I fell and cut my knee!, now my tights are ruined, I'm so sorry" she says through her cries which are only getting harder.

I take a chance and slowly walk over to the girl, bending down onto one knee I cup her face gently and use my thumb to wipe away her falling tears.  "Hey beautiful, what's your name?" I ask in a soft voice not wanting to startle her.

"L-lady"

"Hello Lady, I'm Storm, it's nice to meet you"

"I like your name" she says sweetly giving me a breathtaking smile.

"Thank you, I like yours as well" I give her my best smile and tuck some of her hair behind her ear.

"How about you come and meet my husband over there and then we can take care of that knee of yours"

"Okay" she says quietly while blushing.

I pick her up and place her on my hip, she's so small, I see Maggie grinning as she hands Ro a first aid kit and directs us into an empty room. "Okay sunshine, let me introduce you to my husband, he's a little grumpy today but I bet you can put a smile on his face"

"I can try!" She giggles.

"Hey little one, I'm Roman" Ro introduces himself.

"Hi, I'm Lady, why're you grumpy?"

"I'm just sad sweetie, we both are"  I see tears glisten in her eyes as she glances at both of us before dropping her head and pouting.

"What's wrong sunshine?, where's that smile gone?"

"You guys are sad, that makes me sad" she sniffles.

"Oh baby, don't cry" I say pulling her into a tight embrace and running my fingers through her long hair.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you" Ro says looking pained.

"It's okay, but I still don't know why you're sad"

"I'm just sad that we can't seem to find a girl that we can take home and give all our love to"

"That's no good!"

"We are used to it now, I guess it's time we give up"

"I'll be right back!" Lady says hopping off the table and skipping out of the room.

"Do you think we scared her off?" I ask Ro.

"I'm not sure, what I am sure of is that she's exactly what we've been looking for" he pauses, taking a deep breath before continuing. "She seems kind and sweet, but also has that edginess to her"

"I know, I don't think she's up for adoption though"

"Maggie said there were six girls in total maybe she's the sixth?"

"Let's hope so, I can feel it in my gut, she's the one Ro".

Ladys' P.O.V-

"Miss. Maggie, it's time" I say to her knowing she knows exactly what I'm talking about.

"Are you sure about this?" She asks raising her left eyebrow slightly. "I just can't stand to see you heart broken again, and with your secret...." she trails off.

"I know, but I feel it in my gut" I sigh lightly before taking a seat opposite her.

"I think I've found my perfect family"

"Well, I thought you'd say that, I've already sorted the paperwork" she grins at me, a knowing look in her eyes.

"How did you know?"

"I finally saw that sparkle in your eyes"

"Wow, I'm really going to miss you"

"I know baby, me too, but we will see each other again don't worry"

"I hope so!, let's go and tell them"

"Okay, let's go!"

Maggie and I leave her office and walk back to the small room that hopefully my new family is in, I really hope they want me as much as I want them!

"Storm, Roman" I call quietly, gaining both their attention.

"Hey sunshine, we're so sorry if we scared you off" Storm explains.

"You didn't, I actually wanted to ask you both something"

"Go ahead sweetie, we're all ears"

"I was wondering if you both would like to adopt me, it's okay if you don't" I say shyly, blushing a little.

"We'd love to!" They both say in unison.

"Really?!"

"Yes!, where do we sign"

"I'll take care of that with you both in a minute, Lady, why don't you go and get changed and pack your stuff" Maggie says.

"Okay Miss. Maggie" I giggle before running off up to my room.  When I reach my room I pull out my three purple suitcases from under my bed and open them up, I fill one with all my shoes, making sure to leave a pair out to wear, the second one I fill with all my clothes and lastly I fill the third with all my other stuff. Once I've finished packing I head into my little bathroom and start to undo my braided hair so I can pull it into a ponytail, next I unzip my black ballet dress and neatly fold it along with my now ruined tights and pop them both in a bag, removing my ballet shoes comes with a sigh of relief as I can finally start to feel my toes again.

"Lady?!, are you almost ready?"

"Yes, I'm just changing"

"Okay, don't be long baby!"

"I won't" I reply before hurriedly changing into my distressed denim shorts, grey top that says 'Last Name Hungry, First Name Always', I grab my green and black checkered shirt and tie it around my waist, I quickly put my black high top converse on and race down stairs with two of my suitcases, making sure not to tumble and telling Maggie that there is one left that I still need to bring down.

"I'll go get that for you, Storm why don't you go and get Lady settled in the car" Roman says before heading up the stairs.

"No problem, have you said your goodbyes sunshine?"

"I'll miss you, thank you for everything you've done for me Maggie" I say while hugging her tightly and trying not to cry.

"I'll miss you too baby, make sure you behave and have fun!"

"I will, love you"

"Love you too"  Storm grabs my hand gently and leads me to a black car that looks expensive.

"Here you go sunshine, hop in"

"Thanks daddy!" I say quietly. 'Shit why'd I say that!, stupid!'

I turn to close the door once I'm seated mentally scolding myself as I go, only to see Storm with a blank look in his eyes and a surprised look on his face.

"What's wrong?!, did I do something bad?"

"No sunshine, I'm just so happy we found our girl" he said while making sure to keep his eyes trained on the ground.

I could tell he wasn't telling the truth from the way he kept avoiding my eyes but I decided to keep quiet which is probably for the best. 'I don't want to be sent back before I've even left the driveway'.

"Oh, I'm glad you're no longer sad"

"Same sunshine, same" he says as he shuts the door and helps Roman put my suitcases in the car.

As we drive away from the only home I've ever known I start to think about my new adventure and how happy I am that maybe, things will finally work out for me.
