Chapter 10

Lucianna's office door opened to reveal a very excited Quinnie. She rounded her desk and mounted onto her lap.

"Hey mom."

Lucianna's heart palpitated at the word as she tried not to let her thoughts stray.

"Hey Quinnie. How was your day?" She asked with a tender smile.

"It was okay. What about you?"

"I was missing you a lot but I'm fine now that you're here."

Quinnie gave her a full blown smile as her eyes lit up.

"Uhh ... mum, one of the girls in my class was talking about how dinning with her parents in a pash restaurant was very fun. Can we try it too? I only ever dine with daddy." She said sadly.

Lucianna's heart ached for her as she decided to fulfill her wish no matter how awkward dinning with her father might be.

"The word is 'posh' hun not pash. And yes what time do you want us to meet?" She chuckled as Quinnie let out an excited squeal.

"Maybe, six? And thanks a lot mum. I need to go get ready. See you later."

She waved as she rushed out. Lucianna shook her head with a smile and resumed working.

" You look chewy", Lucille commented.

I stared at her sprawled out figure on my bed with a weird look on my face.

"Chewy? Please don't tell me you are now a vampire."

She burst out into laughter and my heart soared at the total look of joy on her face. I was so glad that she is okay now.

She stood up and stared at me and then reached out and unclipped my hair.

"You look beautiful with your hair down. And what I actually meant was that you look totally bangable. Like if I was a kid you would've been my favorite candy. Wow, that actually sounds weird. I think there's something wrong with me. Don't you think so too?"

"Oh gosh Lucille. Is bangable even a word? Anyway, thanks for the... uh ... compliment. I appreciate it. Anyway I'll see you later. Adiós!"

I climbed down the stairs and took my coat from the coat rack.

"DON'T FORGET TO USE PROTECTION!" She yelled as I opened the door. I erupted into laughter at her childish attitude and exited the house.

Entering my car and setting off, I messaged Stone that I had set off and resumed to listening to music and driving.

My nerves ricocheted as I neared the restaurant. I was going an date with Quinine and her father and I was nervous as hell. I mean, this was Quinine's idea.

Me being me would have never suggested that idea since I wouldn't want Stone to feel like I'm trying to make a move on him or anything but all Quinnie had to do was pout and make puppy eyes and I was goner.

Gosh, I'm so whipped for that child.

I arrived in less than 45 minutes and left my car keys for the valet to park. I was led by a waitress into a private room upstairs.

She opened the door after knocking bid me to enter.

I entered and was immediately engulfed in a hug by Quinnie.

Oh dear lord, please help me through this.
