Chapter 16: The Village (1)

I woke up the next morning, and I was just as tired as last time no change yet. I hope I don't Immediately collapse at the village. (sigh) Oh well I guess I can only home right? Anyway back to the story.

Like I was saying I woke up the next morning feeling the same as yesterday. I looked to be about 9:00am right now by looking at he sun. I got dressed and braided my hair. Then headed to the dining room to eat. "Oh hello mom." "Hello sweetie. How you feeling?" "About the same as yesterday no change." "Well the boys will be here to carry you if you get tired ok? Just let us know before you collapse ok?" "Yeah mom." So we ate are breakfast and said good bye to Leo and to have them take care of those babies in the belly. "Haha Yeah we will. See ya." So we were off to the village.

It was already dark and we decided to stay in a tree hole under the tree. Luckily we had flashlights in this time and my uncle and Loki had brought one. "Good now we can see for a bit." Said Loki. "Hey Akela how you feeling?" said Uncle. "A little tired. I'll try to get some sleep. Uncle? Thanks for carrying me." "Oh no worries we were almost to the tree anyway." Then I turned into a wolf to stay warm and comfortable. Loki did the same. Mom did too. Uncle was warm enough he had to keep a lookout but brought some blankets just in case.

Akela was restless in her sleep again. She was doing low growls and Loki noticed since he was next to her. He was a light sleeper. He thought he had to be to protect Akela. Loki turned human and touched Akela. "Its ok girl. Its ok Akela. I'm right here." Said Loki. "I'm right here." Luna woke up to see what was going on. She saw Loki sitting in his human form while she saw Akela sleeping. She saw he was trying to comfort her from a nightmare. She smiled and went back to sleep.

It was the middle of the night and Uncle Kira was still out on watch. He thought he sensed or heard something. He was on guard and did not drop it. He looked to see if anyone was awake and saw Loki up. "Loki. Loki!" Said Kira in a whisper. "Something is coming. Stay here with them ok? Wait till I come back. If I am not back by morning go ahead without me. I will probably already be there ok?" "Yes uncle sure." He couldn't sleep anymore knowing they might be in danger.

He went further to where he heard/sensed the feeling. Then he was knocked down. "What the hell?! Who the hell are you?!" said Kira. "Kira? Is that you?" said Man 1. He got his flashlight and turned in on. "Oh its you idiots. Don't scare me like that. I'm surprised you are still living here." "Yeah we don't plan on leaving anytime soon." Said Man 2. "So where are they?" Said man 1. "Leave the be. They are sleeping. So what are you guys doing here?" "Well we heard you were coming to the village with an old friend and her daughter. You have a boy with you as well huh?" said Man 1 "Yeah what of it?" Said Kira. "Nothing. Nothing at all." "Hey you better watch it. That is my niece. The boy with us is her fiancé." "Oh shucks already taken." "Yeah well even if she wasn't she would be to young for you." "Haha if you say so. Hey since we came out here can we be your escorts to the village? You will be there in 12 hours." "Yeah but we have a problem. My niece isn't doing to well. She may need to be carried. I have carried her a little bit before we got to the tree. She is getting weaker everyday. Is the old man still alive?" "Oh old man Fang? Yeah he is still alive." Said Man 2. "Good I need to speak with him about my Niece." "Your niece. Is she?" "Yes she is part wolf but didn't know until she was 8. That is all you need to know about her story. I will tell more to fang." "OK OK jeeze." Said Man 1. Then Kira went in to let him know everything was fine and to go back to sleep. He tried and for a few minutes he did then woke up and never went to sleep. He stayed with Akela though.

The next morning it was around 8:00am. We were eating our breakfast and I didn't feel like I got any sleep at all. "Crap. I'm getting weaker." I didn't know I said that out loud. "Hey Akela. Are you ok?" "Oh did I say that out loud? Sorry." "Its all good. By the way uncle. Who are these guys?" I asked curiously. "These guys are my childhood friends. This is Nico." "Hey there beautiful." He saw Loki's look. "Hey man I'm not going to eat her Jeez." "This is Aries." "Hey there." "Nice you meet you both. I am Akela. This is my mom Luna but I guess you already knew that." Then Loki introduced himself. "I'm Loki. Akela's fiancé. Don't go making any passes at her ok?" "Yeah yeah we know." Then we were off a half an hour later.

Time passed we finally made it to the village after a few rests and carries. We were at the gate and I almost collapsed but uncle caught me. "Akela? Akela! Dammit! She is getting worse. Lets go to the old man and fast. This is not a normal phenomenon." They all nodded and headed over.

"Hmm. Cough! Cough!" Now Akela was coughing. "Is she getting worse old man Fang?" said Kira worriedly. "Relax. I might be able to help her. First we need to get a bucket of cold water and something to leave on her head. She has a fever. Its mild but it still is one. Then I will need you to tell me what exactly happened. When did she start feeling this way?" "Yes sir." Said Loki. He ran to get the water and came back with a bucket of cold water and a rag. Then Loki explained when this happened and who she was.

"I see. So that is what happened. Well I'm sorry about Orion Kira and Luna I'm glad she survived back then and you as well Luna." "Yes thank you sir. So can you help her?" "Well you said she started having tired symptoms after that night right?" said Fang. "Yes she did. Its getting worse everyday until today when she collapsed." Said Loki. "Hmm. Well the elder is right on 1 thing. It does have to do with her and her dad. Have you heard of anyone having a power before?" "Yeah I've heard of it? It hasn't happened in 200 years. Does it have to do with Akela here?" "Yes. It does. It has to do with the mother as well." He looked at Luna. She looked shocked. "I see I didn't think it would pass on to our children. Could she have 2 of them and unconsciously used them at some point?" "Hmm that is what I am thinking but I am not sure. You have the power of moonlight that is probably why your mother called you Luna. When you were a baby they had to put you in a special pool because you were weak. It was purple water. It is was kept you alive and turned your hair and eyes a different color. Your sister was just as weak. Your natural color hair was an auburn color. Same as your sisters. Your eyes were a beautiful green like your sisters as well. Your sister kept her eye color she wasn't as weak as you were. The god of the moon saved you both. You both happened to get powers. As you know you have moon power, Your sister has a power she doesn't want to talk about. Orion also had a power. Did you ever see what is was?" "Yes I did. It was the power of fire and ice. He had 2." "Yes he did. She may not have had all 3 but maybe she ended up with 2. As for helping her all I can do is use my healing power to calm her down. Rest is the only thing I am afraid I can do to help. As for the continuous tiredness I know who you can talk to. He already has a couple kids of his own now. You know him Luna and Kira. Its Echo." "I see so he has two kids of his own. I wonder who he married?" "You will find out soon enough. Leave her here and go get him ok? He lives about 4 houses down." "Yes sir." Said Kira. Loki and mom stayed right by her side.

About 30 minutes later Echo came rushing in. "Hey Old man Fang! Where is she?! The girl!" said Echo. "Shh. She is right here." Said Fang. "Oh Akela." Said Echo. "You know her?" said Luna. "No I don't. When your late husband Orion came to visit when you found out what you were having he was the happiest man alive. None of us had seen him that happy before. He said that you had a name picked out for her. He liked the name Akela." "I see. So that's why he was gone for a day or 2. He came here. He said he had to go tell people and I was curious how long it took to tell people. He was right though. Did he ever tell you that he thought his kid was going to have his face?" "Yeah he did. He was right. But she has your hair and beautiful blue eyes. I think the gods power passed on to her for some reason. Don't worry it won't hurt her." "Oh that's good. So can you help her wake up?" said Luna. "Yes. You said she kept getting weaker after a certain incident right?" "Yes I did." Said Leo. "OK I need to be alone with her to do this. It will cure her tiredness. Tell her to be careful and learn to control her power ok?" "Yes sir. I will." Said Loki. Then they all went out and Blue light showed on Echo's hands.

(Inside Akela's head.)

"Akela? Akela? Can you hear me?" "Yeah I can hear you. Who are you?" "My name is Echo. I was your father Orion's best friend. I am here to help you from your tiredness." "Oh is that so? Why do I have it?" "Heck I didn't even know why I had mine but with someone's help it was cured. That is why I am here now. There is something else. You have power. You may have 2 or 3 of them. Your father had fire and ice and your mom has moonlight power." "I'I see. Could this tiredness be from me using my powers unconsciously and somehow interfere with what is happening to my body?" "I'm not certain but I think so. That is why I don't know for sure what happened." "Oh I see." "OK my time is almost up here. You will see me when you wake up. But you have to will yourself to wake up. You have to want to come back in your heart." "Thank you Echo. There is one more thing I have to do before I do. Then I will do my best to wake up ok?" "Ok then. Don't be freaked when you see how handsome I am." I looked at him weirdly. "Hahah just kidding. I'm married and have wonderful kids. I'll see you when you wake up ok?" "Ok thank you."

(Outside of Akela's head.)

"Ok almost done…..Done! Pfew! Ok now Akela don't keep everyone waiting too long you have business here." He went out to let the others know they can come back in. Then when they did he told them about what happened between them. "I see. So she will be ok?" said Loki. "Yeah I think so." Everyone drew a breath of relief.

The next morning Loki was left alone with Akela. He kept brushing her hair back like he does to put her to sleep and wake her up. Then a little while later she was starting to wake up. "Hmm. Ha…..Ha…..Oh it was only a dream. Where am I? Hmm? Loki?" "Yeah its me. How are you feeling?" "Not tired anymore. But feeling a little strange. Is there a man here named Echo?" "Yeah do you know him?" "So it wasn't a dream after all." "Want me to go get him?" "Yes please. Thanks Loki." He nodded then went to go get Echo.

A few minutes later, not only Echo but Mom and Uncle came in as well. "Hmm. Why are you all here?" "You don't remember Akela?" "Remember what? Where exactly am I?" "You still seem a little out of it. You are in the village where your biological father grew up." "Oh yeah. Now I remember. Sorry everyone." "Jeeze don't scare us like that idiot." Said Loki. The Echo checked on Akela to make sure she was ok.

While he was checking me out I said, "So you are Echo huh?" "Yes and what you saw in your head wasn't a dream. I really did talk to you. You are a rare case." "I-I am? Is that a good thing?" "Well depends on what you call good. Besides you should be fine now. If you feel anything strange come back and let me know. You do however have power. We are not sure what kind yet." "Honey I don't know if you know this but, I have the power to control the phases of the moon and the brightness of it. I call it moon power but its really called Lunar manipulation." "Yeah I have heard of it mom but I have never seen you use it. Did dad have any?" "Yes he had two. The power of fire and ice." "Wait a second mom. You said you had the power to change the phases of the moon and brightness right?" "Yes why?" "Now that I think of it that night the sky was looking a little weird that day. I didn't think anything of it. I just knew it was some strange thing going on and ignored it. I didn't think I would have something to do with it. Also that night I felt like I was freezing cold. I touched a leave and it frosted over which was freaking me out. That was the day I went on my walk and found the place where the thing happened with me protecting uncle Leo." "Oh I see. So you have the power of the moon power like me and ice like your father. In time you might even get the fire power as well. Hmm. Lets see. When we get back home or even here I can help you controlling the moon power. As for your fathers I don't know what to tell you." "Actually. My son Drake has the power. He learned to control it at an early age when he was younger. Maybe he can help you while you are here. Maybe I can send him over with you until you are able to control it ok." "Are you sure Echo?" I said worriedly. "Yes its fine. I will be staying here. His mother will be going as well. I have already talked to her about what I thought might be going on and she agreed." "O-ok. Loki I'm good on my wolf form right?" "Yes your training is done. Took you long enough though." "Haha sorry I'm not as smart as the others." "Its all good. You were just a little weaker." "Aww such a sweet couple."

"Hey Echo. Don't go making fun of us." "I'm not it just is." "OK you two. Can I go out and look around the villiage? I have some business here along with Loki and uncle Kiran." "Yes you may go. Just be careful. Later tonight you will be staying here while you are here so I will bring over my children and wife." "Oh really? I can't wait." So we left to look around the village that dad and Kiran grew up in.
