erin smirked while he scanned through the latest post on his blog. it was just three days ago and he already had over 10thousand reads. everything was going accordind to his expectations, even the praise from newbie adventurers. his site, 'hacks for noobs' had gained a lot of traction in the newbie adventurer world even though it just started. even those who had yet to awaken where participators of this. all because of the 'mass awakening event' that would take place next week.

'hehehe. i have well over 6thousand dollars in my account now. all thanks to this valuable piece of knowledge stashed in my beautiful head. just a day or more and i will awaken my system and become op.' erin couldn't help himself and began to laugh with a large smile plasterd all over his face. he brushed against his puple streaked black hair, staring intently at his laptop screen. in truth he was not an awakened yet and information regarding beasts was usually not shared but he knew all of this. why? he didn't know why but he just ended up with it. waking up one day to discover he was an encyclopedia on all living monsters from F grade to C grade. he started up a website, monopolizing on the noobs that had awakened before the mass awakening and those who had yet to awaken. usually he would have been arrested by now since only an information brooker or registered websites could sell this information but with the help of his innate talent for hacking and making connections, he was able to swerve the law for a while. it was currently impossible to shut down his site as he had curries the favor of some hackers who were interested in his knowledge. he had to pay them a percentage of course.

'when i awaken i'll shut this site down,' he mumbled getting up from his cushion chair for a stretch. he did a couple of pushups and some cardio before resting on his bed. he formulated everything he was going to do the moment he awakened. he had to first get to level 15 so as to participate in the ranking test. then apply as a solo hunter( even though that was reckless and stupid but he just wanted to) and begin grinding using all the knowledge he had. it would be smooth sailing from there. he checked the time on his watch, 'huh, its still around three! but I'm all pumped up'. tomorrow was the beginning of the mass awakening event and many lights could be seen on in the neighbourhood as there were an abundance of people expecting to become awakened. alas not everyone's wishes could be fufilled, many would enter into a state of depression and end up commiting siucide. why? the world was hard before but after the appearance of the awakened, it got even worse. any sensible families prayer was to ensure their close relative awakened or else they wouldn't last long. 'but that's not going to happen to me,' erin thought with a smile. he had done a statistic check and found out that in the 3 year interval of the mass awakening event, the age group varied. sometimes, majority of those 15 to 18 awakened and others times 12 to 14. he fit into the later( at age fourteen) and according to his tests this time it would be his age category.

six days passed into the week like a blurr for most people . for eric however, it was a slow and agonizing period. a time where he got to realize his dream may not come true. his facade of not being touched by the situation was beginning to crack and his Brenda, his mum and Emma, his younger sister tried to futily console him. his colleagues in school who had awakened, dropped out a few days later to become adventurers. his school was out for the peroid and he had more time to sulk. today was the last day and it was already half past eleven. thirty minutes more till his dream officially slipped away from his grasp. he had just finished typing his next blogg essay. 'fighting against an evolved dire wolf'

'i dont think i will get as many views since this is quite advanced oh well, its gonna be in season soon and i will need the money after all'. he placed his mouse button over the upload button but beffore he could click, he was interupted by a purple holographic screen that appeared infront of him.
