Erin, after leaving the shop made his way to the testing area. it was not too far away and even if Erin walked, it would have taking him almost under twenty minutes. he arrived at the testing grounds, still wearing his tracksuit and everything else stashed in his bag. he wouldn't want to reveal himself just yet as there could be stalkers who would jump at him seeing his equipment on. even carrying his bag there already sent signals that he might have been carrying something important or useful. he checked his watch as he noticed more and more people joining him on the bare path towards the brown gate entrance to the testing area.
' its not even half past seven, why are so many of you already coming'
he shrugged of the feeling that people were watching him, loosening his tight grip on the straps of the bag. he was not going to let a little pressure get to him, he thought confidently. striding faster to the gate.
the testing grounds were a beginner awakened environment were people could train to gain power. they accepted any and everyone, as long as you could pay. one hour in a regular training field was close to fifty dollars and you could pay even higher for a better experience. Erin was planning on paying 100 for an hour and practicing once everyday till he got to level fifteen. he was already at level two, a breakthrough stage for most people as the earlier stages were the most difficult to advance. his plan was to ultimately rise in strength without attracting attention and joining a guild. preferable a strong one of course. it was every ones dream to join a strong guild but only the strongest were allowed in. with his unique ability to boosts a weapons stats, he could pull ahead of others regardless of his late timing.
when he approached the gate, he noticed a toll booth were people paid and were giving badges. these badges could detect if someone had entered the right training zone and if someone entered a higher costing training zone without paying for it, he or she would be easily detected. taking them off would offset the alarm and only changing in the designated to training zones (resulting in taking them of) was allowed.
he walked over to the kiosk and handed the man inside, his card. the man was initially shocked when he saw just a kid walking to him but he tossed his doubts away. different people of different age categories were here after all and he did not have time to investigate them all. he let Erin in after handing the badge to him, a small smooth red disk with black ring in the middle. Erin already knowing what to do, stuck it on his right chest and moved away from the growing line. the black haired man handed Erin a brochure which Erin didn't need but still accepted it and moved through the a gap brown large gated.
the moment he crossed it, he was met with a large stone path that stretched into many different paths and surrounded by treasures of flowers of many sorts. roses, tulips,, daffodils and the like spread out and trimmed to perfection. the shrub wall were aligned perfectly with no visible sign of pruning. he only got a whiff of it before but he could now distinctly tell that the air was much clearer and had a sweet fragrance behind it. there was a guard at the entrance and seeing him having a red disk, which signified that he paid about a 100 dollars, he pointed the direction in which Erin needed to go. the main stone path bridged into four different paths, one for each price list. 50, 100, 250, 400. each one exponentially better than the former. he was guided to the second on his right and walked straight ahead, paying no heed to any other lingering details as he rushed ahead.
the path became much narrower and with people following behind, he begun to feel claustrophobic. he picked up the pace but immediately stopped dead in his tracks when the path opened up to reveal a large gymnasium like building. it had a lot of glass paned walls and looked similar to a green house which made it clearly exposed but it actually wasn't. there were large white walled rooms twice as large as Erin's hall inside. this was why he opted for 100 dollars. below that price, they would practice in the open and that was the last thing Erin wanted. he didn't know anyone and his confused demeaner would give everyone else a hint that he was new. in essence, prove he was easy picking for robbing. his thoughts about the place that wowed him were soon interrupted when a guy bumped into him. he looked to about seventeen and was chatting with a friend when he bumped into Erin. he sized Erin up, thinking he wasn't much before snickering and walking of. Erin, greatly upset by this decided to analyze the boy in front of him, shocked by the results.

he shut his now agape mouth and glanced at the red head walking away from him.
'a gem!' Erin thought
he had discovered a few things when the checked Brandon's status but he mainly dwelled on the more important facts. first of all he was a barbarian hunter, a rare class indeed. it did not match his physique but it was undeniable, he was a gem. gems were people who fell under the following characteristics. unnaturally high leveling up or skill acquisition speed, possessing an innate magical ability distinguished from their class, or having a unique job classes, etc. Erin could be classified as a gem as well but compared to the more known yet very unique job class such as the barbarian it would not match up. his stats were also too high for someone who had just awakened about a week ago and he was not even wearing any armor or artifact. he planned to check the guys friend out but he decided against it so as to not waste time and save himself from the disappointment.
he paced up behind them, trying to stay as hidden as possible. Erin did not waste time and immediately went to the last rows of the visibly large rooms. they were all connected but had dividers between each of them. segregated into two sides with a large walking space in between. Erin walked calmly while checking for any unoccupied rooms. one could tell if the room was occupied by a black disk on the walls. if it was occupied, it would glow a dull shade of red and if empty would periodically flash blue. despite what he thought, there were more rooms and people. all of the earlier rooms on both rows were already taking but the rooms seemed to go for hundreds of meters. Erin could barely see the end.
'must be using a space expansion gem' he thought.
just like the name let on, it was an artifact that could expand a room for several yards on end without any visible change on the exterior. it could turn a tee cup into a well or make a house that seems small, larger than a mansion on the inside. he tried to locate the usually cyan blue gem but couldn't. with its adaptable size it could be changed into anything and was quite uncommon and expensive. Erin begun to think as 100 was too low for such a luxury but still delighted in it.
he had finally found an empty room but before he could claim it as his own, a person zoomed passed him and placed their hand on the disk. a method of registering it as one's own. It was seized by a black haired kid. Erin had recognized him to be Brandon's friend and simply walked away, gritting his teeth.
'sorry but you were too slow' he said slowly but with a laudable chuckle.
'F**K YOU' Erin thought.
after getting the same thing happening happening to him twelve more times, he had finally found an empty room. he tried his best to not retaliate whenever someone would cut him of the room he had choses for himself but it still pissed him of and it clearly showed.
'I will become stronger than you guys and then we'll see who's who'
in truth he had found that every one else had their weakest stat( except for intelligence) at least 10 points higher than his and thus he resorted not to do anything. he hastily registered the room as his own and let the wall door slide open, allowing him entrance. he walked in with a calm expression but his excitement was killing him inside. he opted to act natural until the door closed. the door closed and he was now left alone to do what he wanted. a grin formed on his face as he stared with intent at the wooden dummy in front of him.
now only noticing the white rooms were much larger than he realize. his hall would have to be multiplied by 3 in order to barely fit in it. there was a large bench at one side and he walked towards.. he made sure not to enter the white ring on the tiled floors as he thought it would activate the dummy. despite buying the armor and sword he would only use the latter. effort helped to ensure that one could level up faster than with gear on and so he had chosen this method. he only bought the armor to make sure that he would have one when the time had come. he was extremely lucky to come across any cheap gear at all (cheap! this bastard again). they weren't cheap, just more or less affordable.
he sat on the bench still staring at the dummy while he pulled out the curved his curved hilt and zipped the bag close. his mana had yet to recover fully and so he chose to consume the potion after it was exhausted which would not be so far away. he walked towards the dummy and stepped on the line. the outlines of eyes on the dummy suddenly glowed red.
'level requirement?' it said in an automatic robotic voice.
' level two'
