Inside an old wooden house, a young man with a gloomy face was perched in his seat as his gaze became distant.
He was naturally Damien, he felt apologetic towards that innocent little girl, he detested that he was punishing her for a crime she didn't commit, but...he just can't help it.
How could he ever love a woman again after what happened to him years ago? He loathed women so much because of one person. Her name was "Beatrice".
Many years back...
In a thick forest, a delicate young lady was hunting for demon varmints unfortunately, she came across a stronger demon varmint which had her in a disadvantageous dilemma
But fortunately, a young man was also hunting that day in the same forest. Hearing the cry of a young lady, his heart skipped a bit.
He surged towards the direction the dulcet voice came from, and there, he saw a young woman who was miserably defending against a demon varmint.
Without a second thought, the young man sprinted towards the demon varmint which didn't make him a minute to slay. He turned towards the miserably looking young lady in front of him with a smile plastered on his face.
"Are you alright?"
"Yes am good and it's all thanks to you," The young woman revealed a warm smile.
"Are you gonna be able to go home by yourself ?" The young man who was naturally Damien raised his brow with concern written all over his face.
"Yes, I can."
"Ok then, may I know your name before you leave?" He flickered as an ample smile formed on his face
The young woman flicked her long lashes and smiled, "My name is Beatrice."
"You have a beautiful name... Am Damien," He nodded at the young woman with a smile still visible on his lips, "I hope we meet again."
"We will if fate lets us," She flashed him a charming smile before teleporting away.
Taking a deep breath, Damien smiled to himself before he teleported back to his mansion.
He couldn't stop thinking about that graceful young woman he just met. Has he fallen for her at first sight?
Time flew by and as fate had it they met each other again. They saw each other more often, hanging out and walking the markets.
Occasionally, they got to know more about each other and he indeed did fall for her at first sight.
Things seemed to be going nice and smooth. Until one day, Beatrice invited Damien to her father's mansion.
It turned out that Beatrice's father wants to meet him and have dinner with him. Of course, Damien agreed as he was also planning a surprise, he is planning on proposing to Beatrice and that dinner was the perfect place and time.
......
The D-Day came and his two male loyal sentries which he took as best friends and brothers were both preparing him.
One of them by the name of Daniel couldn't cease teasing him, "Boss I can't wait to see our enchantress."
"Shut up you fool," The other named Alexander censured him.
However, Daniel glared at Alexander with a long smirk on his lips, "Bachelor."
"Di-did you just call me bachelor?" Alexander flared up as his energy began to surge within his body. What he detested most was being called a bachelor! For god's sake, he is just three hundred and sixty years old and they dare call him a bachelor!
On earth, he's probably considered to be an old man, but here he is still a fine young man in his early thirties.
"Alright, both of you stop. I have to go now!" Damien stood up and strolled towards the two men glaring at each other. "Take this crystal, I have one with me. If I find myself in any disastrous situation, I will crush it, and it will signal you two that I need you guys okay."
Both nodded but could not resist asking with a raised brow, "Why are you giving us this?"
"I don't know, but am having a feeling I will need you guys for something but am not sure what it wl be," Damien pinched between his brows as he glanced at the two of me
.
"Alright Boss, we can't wait to see miss," Daniel smirked and playfully shook his brow.
"You...alright I have to go now," Damien disappeared into thin air.
.......
In an impressive mansion, a white-beared man and a young lady with emotionless faces sat across a refectory table in silence.
It was Beatrice and her father Draco, who was often addressed as Drac by his peers.
"Beatrice are you certain he will come?" Draco raised his brow and slightly frowned
"Yes father, I am certain." Have a little patience," Beatrice revealed a mysterious smile as her long lashes flickered.
"Good! It will do me good to get rid of another obstacle…. Tsk, I wonder what his reaction will be if he learns the woman he loves set him up," Draco sneered coldly while still kneading his beard.
Beatrice's expression became complicated when she heard her father's word, but no one knows what she was thinking.
Minutes passed by before a guard scrambled into the mansion, "My lord he has arrived!"
"Good! Good! Beatrice, you know what to do. Do not let this daddy of yours down," Draco laughed heartily as he sauntered out of the hall. Today he was finally going to eradicate his strongest enemy
Beatrice watched her father leave and could not help but shake her head as a self-mockery smile appeared on her lips, "I wish I was an orphan rather than being used by my father! It's worst than anything I can experience in my entire life!"
"The only man who loves me sincerely turned out to be my father's nemesis, and as his daughter, I must do the dirty deed and eradicate him," She didn't know whether to cry or laugh. Sighing sadly she ambled out of the mansion to receive their guest.
Outside the mansion, Beatrice faced the handsome young man who the word 'beautiful' cannot be used to explain how fine he looked.
She stood there dazed as she ogled at the young man in front of her without blinking.
The young man who was naturally Damien was dressed in fine black pants with a white shirt. His jet-black hair curly hair was finely combed as it rained down his shoulder with his lips rosy red as always.
Moments of awkward silence passed and Beatrice still stood there dazed while gawking at Damien, who was still standing in front of her.
"Beatrice," Damien coughed a dry cough when he saw the young girl's reddened face. Why was she blushing? Was there anything on his body?
Hearing the dry cough, Beatrice snapped back to reality and with an embarrassed smile, she gestured Damien in, "Please come in."
Nodding his head, Damien followed behind her while scanning the mansion with a relaxed expression.
A trace of surprise could not help but flash across his eyes sometimes. He was surprised at how elegant the mansion was, but of course, his mansion was more majestic and grand. What made him surprised was that he never thought Beatrice was from an aristocratic type of family considering her humble nature.
" Her father must be an influential man," Damien nodded at himself as he thought inwardly.
