Alexandra's loud voice echoed throughout the desert and was heard by everyone there.
"You were the one who killed our ancestors in droves?" the chief asked, raising his lance. His fierce eyes got rimmed red and he drew his hand back, about to throw the lance at her. "You killed them all to further your agenda. And we were the ones who suffered."
"I did," Alexandra said, placing her hand over her heart. "I had sworn an Oath to the Great King. I was his servant," she replied. "And I regret my decisions."
She didn't want to pass every blame on Luke. She knows that Maximus wants her to be blameless. He thinks that nothing was her fault. But she differs in her opinion. She is at fault too. Her stupidity is at fault.
"I should have stopped him. I should have realized my calling sooner. But I was blinded. And I paid my price," she said.
