[Meditation, Passive, Rank: D- Allows you to meditate and absorb the spiritual energy in the world to cultivate. Cultivation level: 1, Spiritual Energy: 0/100]
'Hmm this is interesting, I wonder what will happen if I raise this Cultivation level instead of my class level?' Sam was intrigued by this turn of events, did this make him stronger than the average player already? Was this like already being level 2 from the start? Well there was no use in dwelling on those questions, he just had to start playing the game and figure it out. Looking around him, Sam could see other players running around, talking to every NPC they could find, hoping to get a quest or mission from them. Sam chuckled inwardly, missions wouldn't be so easy to come across unless they were given by important NPCs. Of course there would be hidden missions and quests, but Sam doubted they would be found in the beginning town of the game.
Instead of talking to every single NPC, Sam decided to look for the equipment store to get some starting equipment. Each player was given 20 copper coins to use as starting funds. this was just enough to get a set of level 1 common equipment from the one store in town. Sam chose simple leather armor and a one handed sword as his equipment. As soon as he equipped the sword he got a notification that made him laugh.
[There are many paths in cultivation. Would you like to begin the path of the Sword? Y/N]
Sam obviously chose yes, that's when he received his very first mission:
[Use a sword to kill 50 enemies: 0/50]
[Reward: Sword mastery LV. 1, 5 Stat points]
He grinned at the rewards, one had to know that 5 stat points at this stage of the game would separate regular players from experts. Sam then proceeded towards the town gate to begin his monster hunt. On his way there he saw a few players looking for party members to adventure with. Most of these players were solo and only needed parties to make monster hunting easier in the beginning of the game. There was a forum online for Mythic Legends that stated that there was no level restrictions in the game. Meaning that there was a very real chance of a level 1 player meeting a level 10 or even level 20 enemy in their adventures. Infinite Games had stated that they wanted the game to mirror reality as much as possible while still providing a balance to the world. With great risk and danger, came greater rewards.
Sam ignored all of these players and continued out of town on his own. The areas around towns were safe zones, these safe zones extended about half a mile and were considered buffers so that no high level enemies could kill new players. But that didn't mean there were no monsters, in fact there were monsters around the Town of Beginnings, they were all level 1. Sam decided to travel to the edge of the safe zone to hunt, there were many players around and he didn't want to be bothered.
Looking around he finally found his first opponent:
[Saber Boar, LV: 1]
