When the red flag is in your face, but you don't see it because all you see is red.

A/N: I created an auxilliary chapter for the fic. Go check it and tell me your thoughts. Besides that, enjoy the chap. That's not a suggestion, it's an order.

Oh yeah, do someone know how to use special characters, or change the writing style? It's for Kass dialogue.

"Can you please give the emblem to me?" Julian asked as he saw Emilia rapidly making her way toward them from the other side of the street. Not for the both of them specifically but more probably wandering across the city randomly.

Felt hesitated for a bit before searching in her pouch and giving it to him. At least he asked.

As Emilia passed the duo, Julian stepped in front of her and simply presented the emblem to her. "Is that perhaps yours?"

"Yes, it is! I was still searching for it until now." Emilia jumped as she was first surprised but answered after seeing the object Julian's was showing her.

Julian's was in no way against bothersome situation. But sometime straight and to the point was the way.

So just giving it to her as he had the urge to smile at seeing her own joyous one. Julian gave no pretense as he said. "If it's not a problem. I would like for you to accompany me and our dear thief to the meeting she set up with the client who gave her the job of stealing your emblem."

"Eh? The one who wanted my emblem stolen?" A perplexed expression appeared on the half-elve's face as she didn't even register the fact the thief who gave her so much trouble was there.

But Felt, hearing what Julian said. Looked like she swallowed a bug as she bellowed. "What!? You still wan-"

Julian shoved a candy he always kept on him for these cases in Felt mouth as he rolled his eyes. "I'm not just here to protect both of you, I have a personal grudge against her and I'm using both of you to lure her out."

Felt face turned sour both because of the candy and because of his words.

"Protect us? Lure her out?" Emilia was completely out of the loop as steam could almost be seen come out of her head.

"No matter, could the great Puck-Sama can manifest himself to confirm if my next words are the truth or not? Julian sighed as it was hard to carry a team of brain dead noobs on his shoulders. Why couldn't they be knowledgable of the future and the world like him?

And there the great spirit of fire appeared in all of his glorious fluffiness as even with his great wisdom. Puck had no idea what was happening. This guy he never met knew he was an empath. Like what the heck?

"Errrr, I'm not sure where you're coming from. But sure, go ahead." Puck shrugged in the end as he didn't feel any bad intentions toward Emilia beside some resentment that wasn't directed toward her in particular.

Julian took a deep breath as he looked at both of the girls. "Okay then. If something dangerous were to happen to one of you. I'll gladly put myself between this danger and yourself and give it my all to protect you."

The silver as well as the blond haired girl gazed at each other and back at Julian, the former with confusion written on her face and the later with a frown, thinking he couldn't possibly say the truth.

Even Puck non-existant eyebrows twitched multiple times as certain people would consider that a confession. The worst, was that. "He isn't lying."

Emilia confusion just turned out for the worst as she crouched and put her hands on her head.

'Maybe some kind of defense mechanism?' Julian mused as he wasn't in the least ashamed by what he said. Even as he was aware of the possible implications of them. Implications that didn't meant anything to him.

Gazing at the chaotic sight of a royal candidate crouching on the ground, a great spirit with thought of murders in his mind and a thief giving him the cold shoulder. Julian strangely felt something bubbling within him.

It was frustration, and anger.

An illogical outburst that came from nowhere.

No... It wasn't illogical.

Nor did it come from nowhere.

In the span of a day, he died two times. Saw more death of familiar people that he ever had. And even if he was lucky, and didn't feel any pain, still could remember the coldness of the feeling of being cut open countless time by blades vividly.

But it was also much more than that, something deep inside himself, that was always there with him. That he never acknowledged, a fragile equilibrum, already broken. Balancing on the fact that it was carefully locked away, under multiple self made padlocks.

The more he saw the people around them just going around their day at this instant. Laughing, bantering and talking. The more he felt these locks leaking what they contained. And it wasn't pretty, a soup of emotions having been restrained for far too long.

He had taken an unconscious initiative to vent them abit with messing around with Felt like he did earlier.

But it clearly wasn't enough, not even near.

He wanted to roar, go on a rampage and kill everything in sight. Let go and laugh out loud as it would be oh so, so easy to just stop caring and snap. It do him good, he would feel better afterward.

It's not like it would even really matter in the end, would it? After all, he could just reset after that...

The only think keeping him from going on a massacre was the image of green-haired little girl - lost somewhere around where he was - flashing through his mind.

Julian could actually feel whatever was happening striking at his sanity, at his restraint. Blow after blow striking at the leesh he had on them. His body tensing in answer and his breathing growing ragged from the sheer effort of repressing it all.

Julian put his hands around his face and groaned, gritting his teeth.

Searching around with his eyes for some other way than violence, his eyes lingered for but a fraction of a seconds on both girls around him.

Puck wasn't the only one to get disgusted as Julian piled only more self-loathing on himself. Making his mind almost give way in consequence of even more pressure on the dam that was his will.

He had to get away.

As a shard of ice was sent his way, Julian slapped it away and decided it was best for run, and run fast. To a place devoid of people, where he wouldn't do something he'd regret.

And just as he began to dash away to somewhere, anywhere else. He heard a gentle voice in his head.

[Do you need help?]

'Yes' Julian barely was able to formulate the answer before the familiar phenomena of the world turning grey and fading away happened.

Something akin to a warm hug enveloped him as he was transported to a beach filled with ragged looking people. The only explanation he received was Kass' voice resonating one time through the place.

[I created this world recently, it's home to the worst scum of all, picked up from your original world. No need for restraint.]

It was all he need to know as the next thing Julian knew, he was dashing ahead, toward the criminals...

—————

Next thing he knew, Julian was standing atop a mountain of corpses and literally drenched in blood from head to toes.

What he did was a blurred, and he didn't exactly remember the details. But if there was one thing he knew, it was that he felt was much more clear headed before.

He sighed as he looked up at the abyss that composed the sky of this realm.

What the fuck was up with him?

—————

~Kassmorra POV

The goddess of death watched impassively as Julian butchered hundred of criminals she personally judged in the past.

Tearing limbs, heads and puncturing holes in their body with his fists. The current Julian would surely scar for life everyone who ever came to know him.

As he wasn't even grinning sadastically while ripping apart everything in sight. No, it was even worse than that.

The teen only sported a blank look like he wasn't really looking at the world around him, a relieved expression on his face. Making him look like what he was doing - reaping human bodies like someone would in a hack n slash - was a therapeutic activity.

Closing her eyes and sending her sight across realities, she finally stopped it on Julian's original world.

Precisely, she observed a greying old man depositing flowers on two grandiose tombs made from marble with accents of black. For the former, he put roses. And for the latter, black dahlias.

The graveyard was as extraordinary as the tombs were, with an enormous statue bigger than lady liberty. Made from millions of tiny golden cogs, the statue depicted a young man pensively reading a book, a sort of tiny robot on his shoulder.

However, the old man didn't care about the beauty of the graveyard as he had visited it countless time before.

Only deep weariness could be seen on the man wrinkled face as he stayed there silently gazing at the bigger one of the tomb and reminiscing a time long gone.

Kass retracted her attention as she knew it wasn't something she could help with.

She wasn't even sure if Julian would finally learn from this ordeal.

That he will never achieve happiness nor will he ever ascend in dimensional level if he kept his current state of mind.

Kass sighed as she shook her head lightly.

One step at a time... One step at a time...

Her eyes flashed as she made a decision.

Maybe she couldn't help him directly, especially after her last stunt of giving him essence sight. But she could still set him on the right path.

As such, Kass opened her mouth and asked directly to Julian in a soft voice. "There is no need to hurry, you know? I'm here after all. What do you think about going back to your family?"

—————

~ Julian POV

Julian listened as Kass ethereal voice vibrated through the world again.

He threw a gaze at his blood soaked hands, clenching and unclenching them.

Go back to his family? But what about his dad? Would he be able to look at him eyes to eyes whitout having a solution to right his stupid past mista-

"I take that as a yes then." Julian thoughts were interrupted as it seemed he had no real say on the matter.

This time, the world did not merely froze in a gray colors like before, but just straight up vanished, breaking down to particules before his very eyes.

—————

When he opened his eyes again, Julian was back into his parents arms. As if his recent adventure was all just a dream.

Unconsciously, his body relaxed as he found himself in a familiar environement.

Strenghtening his hug around them, Julian mouth opened reflexively. "I love you both very much you know?"

Kassidy and Jacob, simply smiled in response. The former teasing him. "It's the second time you say that. But we also both love you very much."

Julian stayed silent for a bit before exiting the hug. "No, I didn't say that earlier. I said that I knew how both of you loved me. Not that I myself love you. So I just wanted to make it clear."

Feeling much lighter, Julian turned around and struggled before making another promise. "Give me one year dad, and I'll find a cure for your infertility. I promise"

Seeing how serious and feeling the weight of his son's words on the matter. Jacob decided that his pain wasn't worth crap if it put pressure on Julian's shoulders. "Oh you know, it's not that important to have our own child. At least, it's not if it make you feel stressed."

However, Julian shoulders trembled for a bit before calming down before he stated with finality. "No, it's okay. If I can do it. I will do it. Just give me some time, at least until my eighteen birthday."

Resisting the urge to add more, Julian went back to his room after finishing in silence his breakfast with his parents.

He was beginning to see some patern to his own behavior, and all was inclining toward some sort of problem.

But what sort of problem could he possibly have? His life was downright perfect right now, it was all he could have ever wanted. There was some hardships, but that's what made life interesting.

Plus, re zero was a psychological nightmare. Normal that some problems popped up resulting from his short time there.

Props to Subaru for dealing with that, really.

Julian smiled as he entered his room, It really was nice to come back from an hostile environement to a still hostile, but familiar one.

As his eyes caught sight of the almost nude girl on his bed. Julian remembered the what seemed like the lifetime past crisis his treatment of her caused him.

Julian made a strange face as he realized that, all in all. Not even 24 hours had passed since then.

No wonder he was going crazy then.

Shaking his head, and since school was not starting before a few hours still. Julian went on some shopping after asking his parents for some pocket money.

He bought some girl clothes for Raynare, as well as some maid outfits. Because he fucking could.

And he didn't want to brag, but the pervert trio of DxD powers were really nothing compared his.

As with one look alone, he could determine the three sizes of every girls he saw as well as the color of their panty. As well as other things he didn't want to talk about because it was just weird.

It came down in the end to his limitless pletora of talents his third wish gave him. He had no idea why this world thought that a prodigious Nephilim should have this kind of talent. But he was in DxD in the end. So it really wasn't worth to exhaust his brain power over.

He came back to his room at the right time. Raynare just woke up.
