Chapter 39: Continuous heavy rain
Bai Yi Yang being her siblings to the right room to go through the stuff they bought, she wanted them to be active and do something so that they won't fall asleep since it may be difficult to fall asleep later at night. Bai Yi Yang unwrap all boxes of tea she have and told the children to bring the garbage basket here to throw away the plastic.
"Jie, I really don't understand you, why do you drink bitter drink like this." Bai Yi Mo went over all the boxes of tea, he will took a sniff once in a while. It smells good, but the taste is not.
"Hurm..no reason. I just like the scent. When you grow up you will also drink either coffee or tea. That's a well known conflict, either coffee lover or tea lover." Bai Yi Yang said with a smile.
"Euww…I don't like coffee. Grandpa Zhou always drink them in the morning." Bai Yi Fang said. She knows that coffee is more bitter than tea.
"Then, what does Fang Fang like drinking?" Bai Yi Yang ask.
"I like milk..strawberry milk. Er jiejie sometimes bring it home from school." Ba Yi Fang grinned.
"Then at the supermarket, why didn't you tell me to buy it?" Bai Yi Yang ask.
"Because Fang Fang saw a lot more snacks that I never try, I must try them all." She answer.
"I see. When we start using the fridge, jiejie will buy you a lot of strawberry milk." Bai Yi Yang caress her hair.
"I can drink it everyday?" Bai Yi Fang eyes shines.
"Of course, Fang Fang can drink one everyday." Bai Yi Yang said.
"Yeah!" Bai Yi Fang cheers.
"Jiejie, jiejie..Xiao Mo wants chocolate milk!" Bai Yi Mo also stated his request. Bai Yi Yang immediately nod and added it in her cart at the supermarket apps so that she won't forget. Seeing that she is serious, they children wanted to request a few more things but Bai Yi Yang reject all the irrelevant things they want. It's okay to eat snacks, but not too much. She wanted her younger siblings to get enough nutrients. But they were still happy as they went through the things one by one even though many of their requests were rejected.
After 45 minutes, they hear a sound from the washing machine and Bai Yi Yang brought them there again, it has finished washing and there seems to be no issues.
"It's done, it's done!" Bai Yi Fang cheer. Bai Yi Yang took out the clothes from the washing machine, untangle it and open the dryer door. After untangling the clothes, she spread it into the dryer machine, only about 3/5 of the clothes can be fit in before the limit height is reached. She preset the temperature and duration before teaching Bai Yi Ling where the start button is.
After that, the machine immediately start rotating. As for the remaining clothes, it was put inside a pail for the next round of drying.
"Bring over the rest of the unwashed clothes, let jiejie see how you do it." Bai Yi Yang said to Bai Yi Ling. They have many clothes unwashed so they need to use the washing machine 2 times and the dryer 4 times to wash all their accumulated clothes.
Bai Yi Ling cautiously open the empty washing machine, put the dirty clothes inside. Then, she took the detergent, softener, stain remover and pour them into the provided drawer. She was so careful, she doesn't want it to overflow. Then she carefully push the drawer back. She look at the most conspicuous 'Start' button and look at Bai Yi Yang before pressing it. The washing machine immediately start working after that.
"Good, you can do it well now." Bai Yi Yang said. Bai Yi Ling smile happily.
"Next time, we will test Xiao Mo and Fang Fang so that the two of you can help your sister do laundry in the future." Bai Yi Yang said to the two little one.
"Yes!" They answer.
Bai Yi Yang then went straight to the kitchen. It is already dark, she can start cooking rice now.
She wanted to cook a simple meal, white rice cooked with Chinese sausages on top, they will be infused with the flavour and become very fragrant. Then she will heat the meat stew, stir fry the remaining broccoli with garlic and make a simple soy sauce based sauce to be mixed with the rice later.
Bai Yi Yang let the the little one watch cartoons using her phone and Bai Yi Ling seems to be unable to sit still and going back and forth to the washing machine. It was her first time using it after all.
Bai Yi Yang let her be.
Bai Yi Yang then start cooking earnestly, it didn't take long. By 7.30 pm, all the dish are cooked, and between that a cycle of drying is also finished, the fresh laundry is warm, the children even wanted to change into it immediately, they were amazed that they didn't have to dry it to get fresh laundry.
After transferring the fresh laundry from the dryer, Bai Yi Yang ask Xiao Ling to show her how to use the dryer now.
Since it is a bit high, Bai Yi Ling use a wooden stool. She copy Bai Yi Yang action as she spread the laundry into the dryer one by one. When the limit is reached, she close the dryer door then press start, once again, it starts spinning.
"En. Good. Now go bring the dry one inside the house." Bai Yi Yang said before returning to the kitchen. Bai Yi Ling was happy as she returns to the Main house. Bai Yi Yang can hear her telling this things that she found fascinating with Bai Yi Chen happily.
Talking about Bai Yi Chen, when they the rest of the siblings was doing all sort of things this evening, he was doing his homework. Why? Because he feels threatened when he saw Bi Yi Yang almost finished three books worth of homework. He read her essays too, they were excellent, even the unfinished one from last night was excellent. So he has been trying to suppress Bai Yi Yang Chinese language essay.
Bai Yi Yang let him be. She will go with her own pace. Tonight, she can finish one or two more books, then after that she will bury the homework inside her bag until the semester starts again. She do this partly to shut Bai Yi Chen up.

Bai Yi Yang smiled hearing her current points which exceeded 100 already. This morning, she gained a lot of points after working for 5 hours straight. She gained 3 points for every 30 minutes of working so she straight earned 30 points. At this rate, she can buy the system skin in no time.
Bai Yi Yang served the dishes onto the table. When the two siblings watching cartoon smells the fragrant rice with sausage, their head immediately turns towards it.
"Jiejie, we don't want to watch cartoons anymore." The two said. They are focused on the food now, how can they watch cartoon? As Bai Yi Ling predicted, they really are a bit hungry than usual. Bai Yi Yang only smile, she took her phone and put it inside her pocket then ask Bai Yi Fang to call Bai Yi Ling and Bai Yi Chen to eat while Bai Yi Mo help with setting the the table and eagerly wait to eat in his seat.
Bai Yi Ling was coming hand in hand with Bai Yi Fang, Bai Yi Chen is behind them holding an empty mug. When all of them are seated, they start eating dinner.
"The rain is not stopping any soon" Bai Yi Chen comment, he was paying attention to the rain and it really hasn't stopped since it started. He is not worried about their house anymore, the roof is repaired, their house is at a mountain so there is no need to worry about flood.
It's just that he is a bit worry about the village, it this really continue, it might really got flooded. December to February is usually rainy, but this year, the rain in this period is scarce, today is one of the day with the heaviest rain this year.
"Yes, it will only worsen, it will stop a while during midnight, then continue again at 2.30.am." Bai Yi Yang repeat her weather prediction.
"Yang Yang, your instinct is really accurate sometimes.." Bai Yi Chen smile.
"Ge, you can believe me on this one. Right, why don't we put a calendar in the Main house, I will write the whether of the day so that we all can get prepared in advance." Bai Yi Yang said.
"Do as you like.." He said as he smiled.
They ate heartily for dinner, a bowl of rice with delicious sausage topped with the sauce, then crispy stir fried broccoli and a bowl of perfect warm beef stew. The meat has become very tender, the potatoes and carrots melts once it enters the mouth, it was very delicious. It's just that, other than Bai Yi Chen, the three children seems to only enjoy it a bit, the taste is a bit towards Western style stew so it is understandable if they are not used to the taste. But they still finished their bowl though, Bai Yi Mo and Bai Yi Fang even ask for rice refills. In the end, all food except the stew went into their stomach.
Bai Yi Chen then wash the dishes, Bai Yi Ling cooked hot water for her to wipe the children and for herself. She doesn't want to give them a proper bath, only wiping with warm water. Bai Yi Ling heat a lot of hot water inside the big iron pot so it was enough for all of them. Bai Yi Yang first wipe the children clean in the West house bathroom then she took a simple bath, not wetting her hair.
Only after that Bai Yi Chen went to take his bath. Bai Yi Yang asked Bai Yi Chen to add more water into the pot and use small fire, they can use it later to wash their face before bed.
In the main house, Bai Yi Yang play around with her small siblings on the bed after their comfortable warm bath. Then she went outside to the living room to do her homework, Bai Yi Ling also decided to open her books today and the two sisters ends up doing homework together on the floor, as for the two small one, she let the children do what they want as long as they didn't disturb them.
"Why are you sitting on the floor?" Bai Yi Chen came in from outside to the living room.
"Ah..we are doing homework together." Bai Yi Yang said.
"Xiao Ling is quite good." She add, praising her sister. Bai Yi Ling only smiles.
"I will go take quilts for you to sit on, the floor is cold." Bai Yi Chen returns to the East house and bring out a quilt. Bai Yi Yang also knows that there is an old cupboard in the East house, it has Bai Yi Chen clothes and some quilts in it. The whether is usually hot here, so they don't have use to it on usual hot day. Bai Yi Yang gladly sat on the quilts that Bai Yi Chen has spread for them and continue to do her homework in speed.
"What subject are you doing today?" Bai Yi Chen who is sitting on the chair ask, he is using the table to do his homework.
"Chemistry, I have finished my last two Chinese essays just now." Bai Yi Yang said in a bit bragging tone.
"Ge, jiejie writes her essay very fast, there are these much words too. I was really amazed." Bai Yi Ling look up from hr book and said.
"I have read your essay too, its good." Bai Yi Chen said.
"I need at least an hour to think for a good short essays, I don't think I will be able to be like jiejie." Bai Yi Ling add.
"En, it's quite hard to be on my level. But if you reads a lot, you know a lot of things too. You will easily be able to write a good essays then." Bai Yi Yang gives her advice to Bai Yi Ling.
That is indeed that case with her, she just knows a lot of things so she has many ideas to write, as long as she knows the format of each essay, she has countless things to write about. Her essay writing speed didn't come in a second like her fishing skills or the other skills. This is just her pure strength without the system help.
"Your sister is right, read a lot of good articles from the internet, news from reliable sources. It will be useful." Bai Yi Chen said to Bai Yi Ling.
"En, I will listen to gege and jiejie." Bai Yi Ling nod.
The three then returns to doing their homework, Bai Yi Ling also doing her homework smoothly, the three science subjects of biology, chemistry and physics are her strength, so she easily complete the high school level chemistry syllabus.
Bai Yi Chen also is doing his chemistry, when he saw that his sister is doing so well, her pen sliding through the paper like waves, he finally ask when he was stuck on one question.
Bai Yi Yang isn't a type that look down on people, she knows that Bai Yi Chen is only a high schooler, it is normal that he doesn't understand a lot of things. She patiently explain it to him, show him an example and also other alternative way of answering this type of question. Bai Yi Chen will then attach the method Bai Yi Yang taught him using sticky not on the same page and attempt doing the question by himself.
He is also a top student after all so he only have a few questions and able to do the rest by himself.
Bai Yi Yang wasn't only teaching Bai Yi Chen, she is also teaching Bai Yi Ling at the same time, so her speed has been greatly reduced, she only managed to finish a book after 45 minutes, which is still very short.
