Chapter 28: There Must Be Light In Darkness.

"Son. Its time."

Arthur nodded at his Father words with a slight frown.

Everytime the throne is to be succeeded, the future king must go to the church and see if he is blessed with some sort of light power. If they are then it's a sign of good luck and fortune.

The king and Arthur then walked into the gates of the church. They were immediately met with people in white armour on both of their sides bowing down. The two ignored this however and kept walking until the got to the entrance of the actual church.

"Hello Ralph. Arhtur too." A priest looking man who seemed to be in his 80s spoke to them with a book in his hand. "Are you ready? You will be judged today, and I hope it all goes well." His voice sounded lazy, as his eye were closed as well making the statement even more true.

"Yes. My son here is ready. Tell him boy." The king patted Arthur's back with a bit of force. "Yes, I'm ready. To be judged, and to become the future king." Arthur had a resolute expression, but his mind was that of 'I know their true intentions. I hope I get rejected'.

All 3 of them then walked into the church. There was a long, wide hallway with doors placed almost everywhere. They then walked down the long hallway and got to a single door. The priest man then waved his hand and opened the door.

"Right this way." There was a stair well that lead down into a bright light. The 3 then walked down into the bright light, making Arthur put his hand over his eyes.

The light died down and he slowly undid his arm. 'This is the place?' It was a huge, white room that seemed infinite. "Please walk up to that bed over there." He pointed to a small black box in the distance, making Arthur slightly squint.

"Yes sir." He still said back however as he walked towards its direction. The king followed behind and after about 6 minutes of walking, they finally reached the bed. "Please lay down."

Arthur slightly nodded and went up even closer to the pure white bed with no sheets. He then took his boots off and slowly layed down. "This process won't take long. If your blessed by the light, then a bright light will go off. Is that clear?"

The priest spoke out to him, and he nodded. "You better get that light boy." The king said in a joking voice that wasn't really joking. "Yes Father." Arthur then closed his eyes and sighed.

'They wan't me to acquire this light power to counter Harutos darkness...' He fully understood what they wanted. He also knew this was the perfect chance for him to acquire said power.

The priest then walked up to the bed and prayed. A small white ball slowly appeared on his index finger, causing him to stop praying. "Now. Let the judgement commence." He placed the small ball onto Harutos chest and the procedure began.

Arthur felt the light go inside him. 'Its warm..' He faintly smiled and his conscious began fading into a place of peace. "This is?.." He looked around and noticed that he was in a white room once more. The wind was slightly blowing and what seemed to be music was playing.

▪Hello child▪︎

A soft, feminine voice spoke out behind him. Arthur, hearing the voice, then turned around. What he saw made his future set in stone. "No way.."

A huge, white dragon was slouching on the ground in a comfortable position. It had a fully white body with light pink scales. It eyes were so white that they made the room seem black. It had pink claws and a long tail with a pink end.

▪You are the first human to come into contact with me. Do you know what that means?▪︎

It never opened its mouth, but talked directly to Arthur's brain instead.

▪You will become my vessel, and I shall give you power. Is that fine?▪︎

The person in question was still in a daze. 'I-I... this can't be true...' To come into contact with a dragon during this process meant one thing: You were truly lucky. In the history of the church, a light dragon symbolizes Truth, Power, and Equality.

▪︎Hello? I'm talking to you.▪︎

Her speech pattern was amazing. Her voice could pierce anyone's soul and make them smile.

"Yes.." Arthur didn't know how to respond to all of this.

▪︎Good. Now come here.▪︎

Arthur nodded at the huge dragon and began walking up to it with a cold sweat. 'I think their going to test me.' He got closer to the dragon and stopped.

▪︎Tell me this first. What do you think about, Good?▪︎

She asked him a question. 'Good?..' Arthur thought to himself.

"I think.." He gather some words and spoke. "I think that good is...well good. I myself think that everyone is good, even if they do things at certain points that may seem bad. What matters is their intention. Did they do it for someone else or did they do it for themselves?" Arthur hoped he got his point across to her. He's never been asked this before.

▪︎I see..▪︎

She then layed up and towered over Arthur.

▪︎I see in your memories that you once did things for yourself, but you changed recently. Why is that exactly?▪︎

Her questioned surprised him quite a lot. "Well.." Arthur scratched his face with an embarrased expression. "Its because I've met someone actually. I don't know why myself, but when I met them, I changed in some way."

The dragon made an expression of 'I see'.

▪︎So this person. Are they a girl? Did a women show you the world?▪︎

She asked a question that Arthur didn't really want to answer.

"No. It's....a boy in fact.." Arthur became even more embarrassed at his words.

▪︎A boy?! Is this the famous boys love?!▪︎

The dragon then flashed and appeared as a petite child. She had the same white eyes and wore a white dress. She had on pink shoes and her nails were laced with pink as well.

▪︎How I adore boys love! A forbidden love between two things make my heart race!▪︎

She held her hands together while making kissey faces. "S-Shut up! It isn't like that! I love women, not men!" He backed away from the women and she slowly laughed.

"I'm just joking.." Her voice was that of a little girl. "Well not really, but still. Anyways, are you ready to make a contract with each other? I'll give you my powers, in exchange for you keeping your good. Is that a deal?"

Arthur's red face slowly died down as he heard the slightly serious voice. "Yes. That's fine by me." She nodded and motioned him to bow. He did and she placed her hand on top of my head.

"I, Tierra, Give Arthur Cambridge, the rights to use my power." A small glow then went off and the procedure was done.

"You will kill all evil for my sake. Is that fine with you?" She told him with a frown.

"Yeah.." Arthur himself frowned as an image of Haruto appeared in his head.

'I can't kill him. He's..my best friend..' He bawled his fist and gritted his teeth.

'I..I won't let them hurt you!' Arthur didn't want the only person in the world that he considered a friend to be hunted down by himself.

"Hey. Tell me about this guy. Is he handsome like you? Is his personality fresh?" The scene changed to that of a room. It was decorated in a girlish manner. Arthur's expression became less serious like the room somehow changed his mood.

"H-Hes better looking than me. His personality...," He thought for a moment. "Its free. He does what he wants, when he wants."

Arthur became a bit jealous of that fact. While Haruto could go around doing whatever he wanted too, Arthur had an image to protect, not allowing himself to succumb to freedom.

"Where is he now? Can I meet him?" Arthur shook his head no.

"He's not even in my kingdom anymore. I...don't even know when I'll see him again.." Arthur eyes changed to blue. "I see.." She sighed out a bit as she sat on a pink bed.

"Maybe when your strong enough, you can go visit him. Right now, your eye magic or whatever is weak. I 'Can' see potential in them however.."

Arthur didn't like to hear the fact that he was weak, especially when he thought he improved. "Let's end this chat for now. I'm getting tired.." She then layed down and Arthur shot up.

"S-Son. Did you do it?" His father was already asking questions. "Tell me boy. What did you see?" The priest spoke as well, both of them leaning in towards Haruto. "What I saw.."

He knew that this would be the beginning.

"What I saw was a dragon."

The Birth Of The End.
