Chapter 44: Slight Problem.

"Is there a problem?"

As we came outside, we saw a herd of 98 people. Some had their arms crossed as they stared at us while others had weapons in their hands.

"The chief may approved of you, but we dont!"

A man with a club yelled at me. He looked like he was just of 6 foot. His clothes seemed more fancier too, surpassing the chiefs.

"My name is Jim. I'm the protector of this village. Fight me to prove yourself worthy of being our Master."

Master? Only women call me that.

"What will you do?"

He asked me.

"I..will kill you if we fight."

"Ha! Kill me?! A mere human wants to kill me?"

"I'm not just a mere human.."

My shirt ripped from the back, revealing a giant, black and purple wing.

"W-What?! Your...a dragon?!"

"Yeah, that's right.."

I slowly walked up to him. Sweat could be seen on his and everyone elses.

"Do you still want to fight, Jim? Or do you want to be a good boy, and surrender like your friends over there."

I pointed behind him and he slowly looked back.

"Guys..."

He saw them all kneeling with their heads down. A dragon was the top predator in the world. No matter of their appearance, whether it's a dragon snake, mouse, dog.. you would still bow to them and show respect.

Jim has to find that out the hard way like I had to with Uri. I could still feel my bones shattering from him only touching my shoulder.

"I-Im sorry! Please-"

He kneeled down. Not because he wanted to, but because the bones in his left leg shatter.

"This is me being kind, you inferior creature. Know your place next time."

I spat on the ground near him and walked away with my wing disappearing.

"Let's go to the next village."

A sound of metal fell to the floor as we jumped into the sky.

We landed in the middle of a village that was no bigger an 2 arces of land.

"Let's hope is goes easy.."

I looked around and noticed that the houses were made up of brick. 'There quite advanced. Well, more then the oni atleast..'

I think the inhabitants here are regular demons. Regular demons: They are humans with horns.

That's literally it. They posses 2 black horns on their head. The position is random. Anyways, those horns absorb magic, so I guess that what truly sets them apart from humans.

Just then, I felt magical energy forming from my side. I looked at it and saw a women in what appeared to be a Chinese dress. Her hair was braided while being in some sort of bun at the same time.

"Who dares to enter my village?!"

She had her head down slightly, making her two 6 inch horns point at me. 'Damn. Is she going to use a cero? I should probably dodge it then..'

A black ball with a purple outline started forming in the air in front of her horns.

"U-Uh...we should move.."

Jessica commented and Reina agreed.

"No. It wont hurt.."

A small flash of light went off and a black beam was shot at me. 'Fast..' I put my hand out and the two connected. It pushed me back slighly, but was still absorbed in the end.

"That was dangerous lady..."

I looked through my fingers and saw her panting. 'Did she put everything in that? We have a genius here.'

"Who are you?! Why have you come?!"

She breathe was becoming heavier while slouching.

"My name is Haruto. May we have a word with you?"

"Smh? A word? Why should I?"

Her retaliation slightly surprised me.

"Because you have nothing to lose, no? You might as well hear me out."

Just then, I felt magic gather from all around me. 'Even the kids?!' They all shot out a beam, making my eyes go crazily around my socket.

"Your all going to regret this..."

The black beams, whether it was small or large, disappeared out of nowhere, leaving shocked expressions on their faces.

"W-What are you?! You look human, but that power...its evil!"

She stammered back slightly. The other demons followed as well.

"Demons are really aggressive. I introduced myself and you people still attacked me.."

Chains emerged from the ground, pinning them to it.

"W-What?! Unhand me bastard!!"

"No. Your going to attack me."

I then pointed at a group of random people and Reina ran at them with her sword in hand.

"Wait.."

She stared at Reina who only got closer.

"Wait!"

Reina now stood over the people. She slowly put her sword up and swung back down.

"STOP IT! PLEASE!!"

I snapped and Reina instantly stopped. The person who she brought her sword down stared bleeding from her forehead.

"Will you cooperate now? Or do you want me to tell my soldier to continue?"

I could tell that Reina was having fun. As much as she agreed with me on having a kingdom with races being able to live together, killing a demon was something that got her blood going.

"Y-Yes. I can hear you out. Just please...please don't harm my people.."

"Okay. That wasn't so hard was it?"

I undid the chains and a few tried attacking. Reina stopped them however, leaving a huge smile on her face. 'She's one of the best swordsman in the world. Good luck.'

"My name is Haruto. I'm establishing a kingdom not too far from here, and I just wanted to know if you'll be willing to join."

"A...kingdom? You want us to join your kingdom?"

"Exactly. I can promise you housing and food. I just need your loyalty and farms.."

They had a huge farm in the back. I think I saw things like tomatoes and carrots.

"Can you not make your own farm?"

"No. We have the seeds, but no techniques."

You don't need techniques to grow a farm do you? Well, maybe you do. Location, size, those are things you need to take into account right?

"Let's speak more about this inside. Its..very cold."

I hated the cold. It reminds me of that fan from earth. The only thing I was never able to fix.

"O-Okay. Follow me then."

She lead me to a brick house and we sat down. A table was between us.

"So? What will you do? Will you join us?"

She started pouring tea into two cups.

"Well, will you kill us all if we don't?"

She looked up slightly as she poured the tea.

"No, of course not. What I did earlier..was just me grabbing your attention. I'll leave now actually if you want me too."

"N-No. I'm actually...quite interested."

"Are you? Why is that? I thought you would have tried to kick me out at the first chance you got."

"Well you see.."

She passed the cup of tea to me and continued.

"We live in fear. Fear of being attacked by those monsters out their in the sands. That's why...that's why I'm willing to follow you. I want to assume that you'll give us protection under your influence..."

Nature.

Weak bowing to the strong.

"Ah, yes. Your right. If you join me, I'll make sure to protect you. Though, in the future, it'll have to be the other way around."

"O-Of course..."

I pulled out a scroll and sat it down on the table. She picked it up and started reading over it.

"It says here..that your allies with Prosperity? H-How?"

Hm? Is it that hard to become allies with them?

"Yeah. It was...tough?"

"Yeah, I bet it was. No one has ever been able to establish relationships with them in over a hundred years. You must have had something that they wanted."

A hundred years? I guess I'm really lucky. Well, Haru did say that Jura knew I was coming. I'm pretty sure he also said something about her knowing that I had a dragon in me. That probably led to her trusting me out of...Fear? Is Jura scared of me? Did she think I would attack her if she didn't form some type of relationship with me?

"Okay. I read everything on here. If I'm not mistaken then we'll provide military and farming. You'll also require out land. We'll get food and housing. Is that all correct?"

She said something, but I was still in thought about the Jura situation.

"Yes. That is correct ma'am. Please accept this as a token of our gratitude."

Jessica pulled out a bottle of wine and sat it down on the table in front of me. It was mead.

"O-Oh my. This is.."

She picked it up and examined it.

"This is...mead?! How did you get this?!"

I snapped out of it and smiled.

"I..had a friend who passed away. He had a bunch of it in his storage, and said that I could have it before he died."

This was a lie. Larius had this in his inventory and gave me it.

"Thank...you. I wish we could give something in return, but sadly we can't right now. Our food was taken by bandits a few days ago, so were all just barely surviving."

"Really? I'm sorry...to hear that. Take this Ms...Ms.uh.."

I never caught her name did I?

"Stella. It's Stella."

"Ms. Stella. Take this..."

A huge pile of meats appeared on the floor near her.

"Take this for tonight. Throw a huge feast in celebration of joining us."

I slowly got up.

"W-Wait! We..can't accept another gift like this without giving you anything back!"

She hit the table while screaming at me.

"When you...when you come tomorrow, I'll have something you can do to pay me back."

We walked out of the tent. Stella had a stupefied look on her face as we did.

"That's my mead.."

Larius pouted while looking up at me.

"Come on..its only 1 bottle out of a million. Don't be so greedy."

"But..But..."

I patted his head and looked away. All the demons were starring at us, making Jessica flinch. 'I wonder if I could get Xp off them..'

I felt something touch my leg, making me look down.

"Who are you?"

I saw a small girl. She wore the same clothes as Stella. She even had the same hairstyle.

"M-M-M-Mister! D-D-D-Don't hurt us!"

Her legs were shaking as she talked to me.

"Hey Larius. There you go."

I sat him down next to her. They both then looked at each other.

"Ew! She's a girl! She has germs!"

He ran back to me and hid behind my leg. 'How..is his acting so good? And where does he gets those word choices from? I've never heard anybody say them in this world. Although I have been living in seclusion for my whole life.

"G-G-Germs?! Your mean..."

She started crying, making me sigh.

"Apologize."

Larius shook his head no.

"Yuna dear! Don't make trouble for him okay?"

Stella came out and picked her up. 'Must be her daughter. Wheres the father then?'

"He's our protector now. He won't hurt us."

She smiled at her daughter. Yuna slowly calmed herself down, hiccuping in the process.

"I'll be going. Do what I said, and let lose. Good bye for now."

We disappeared into the ground, surprising them all.

"He's...a dark magic user? But he's...Nice?"

Stella stared at the ground and slighly smiled. 'With him, we can finaly be at peace..'
