Chapter 54: Decisions.

After his confirmation with the Demon King, Haruto thought long and hard the next day.

'Smh. I said all that crap about the entire continent pulling up on him and taking him down when I can't even control my own kingdom..'

He turned over and stared at the neck in front of him.

'Am I even worthy to lead this kingdom? I'm a ruler who let his kingdom be attacked. I'm a ruler who let his people die while he was off eating from a foot. I'm a ruler...who plays in shadows..'

The neck then turned and a women with mint eyes stared at him.

"I-Im not ready to go again.."

He kept starring at her, ignoring whatever she said in the process.

"H-Haruto?"

"Master. My name is Master."

He slighly snapped at her, making her flinch.

"M-Master. What's wrong?.."

Haruto moved in closer and embraced her naked body.

"Hey. You've only been here for 2 days, but could you tell me how I am as a ruler? Good? Bad? Terrible? Not worthy?"

He placed his head between her flat chest and bit down, making her moan slighly.

"W-Well, from what I've seen..you are a...you are a...you are a good ruler. Y-You care for your people, and..and I see how much thought you put in to make sure everyones safe.."

She then turned around and Haruto grabbed below.

"Do you think...that I could rule an entire continent with that mind set?"

Haruto moved slighly and started rubbing himself between two, soft cheeks.

"Ah~ A-An entire continent?~ I-I think so master~ There will be...there will be hardships because of y-your magic, but that shouldn't be a problem if you~you show them that it can be used for good~.."

Haruto eyes grew bigger as he heard her words.

"Will that...be all?..."

Haruto stared at Jura with wide eyed.

'W-What the hell is she thinking?!'

Jura kept starring out at the people. Haruto then looked over and saw Haru doing the same.

"Please. Tell me what you think on the matter."

The people snapped out of it and started murmuring with each other.

"W-Well.."

Rose stood up with some sweat on her face and a gulp in her throat.

"I-Is it really okay for a Dark Mage to rule over the entire continent? W-What if he tries to...what if he tries to.."

Everyone knew what she was trying to say. After hearing those words, Haruto slighly sighed.

'There will always be doubt. I..can't rule over this continent when I know people will always be in fear of the idea that a Dark mage is ruling over them.'

"I can promise on my title as empress that Haruto is not like that. Go on Haruto. Tell them what you strive to achieve when your done building your kingdom."

After she said that, it was all eyes on Haruto. Feeling the stares on him, he groaned out and got up.

'I guess..I should sell it. I don't think I'm ready to take over the entire continent yet, but I can still try. I have the power to protect my kingdom now, so maybe..'

"So.."

Haruto coughed a bit.

"In this world, we face discrimination everywhere. That is a fact. I hope to change that fact into something along the lines of an opinion. I want to make a kingdom where Elves, Demons, Humans, ogres, vampires, any race basically, could live together in harmony. No matter your age, sex, and obviously race, you can live here in peace."

Taking in his words, the people became surprised.

'A Dark Magic user wants to...create a kingdom without discrimination?..'

'That's all? And here I was thinking he wanted to just take over the entire continent.'

'I..don't know. What if hes lying to all of us to cover up the fact that he wants world domination?'

People has mixed opinions with what Haruto said.

"What have you done so far to back that statement up?"

I looked over at a man in all black. He was a vampire and wore a small glasses that never went over his eyes.

"One thing that I have done is made it so that any race is allowed in any or all buildings. As you know, in most cities, they could have the same type of shop, but..humans let's say are only allowed in it."

"I-I see.."

"Why should we let you?"

Haruto looked over and saw a rat looking man.

"Why should we let a person, who couldn't even keep his own kingdom safe, rule over all of us? I do see what you want to accomplish, but how can you when you can't even protect the place where you sleep?"

He asked Haruto a somewhat difficult question.

"Well...my kingdom was attacked when I wasn't home, so that's one reason, but that's just an excuse. It was really attacked to do my negligence in seeing this happen. Well anyways, I will be taking the dome technology that this kingdom has and implant it in my own. My dome will be equipped with a 'Danger sense' feature, meaning if anyone has any sort of malice against the kingdom, they'll instantly be figured out. From there, we'll use 'Tags'. Tags are something that my guards will mark people with before they can enter the kingdom. Those marked people will then be logged in a book. If a marked person goes into the kingdom, but has malice to attack it, it leads back to them being figured out. A weapon system will immediately point them out and that should take care of it for now. I will develope it farther in the future."

In conclusion, think of an X-ray at an airport. That will be at the entrance of Harutos dome. If a person walks through that X-ray with the intent to Harm the kingdom, it's people, anything like that, then the mark they would receive will light up, making every guard on sight immediately point their weapons at them.

If a person manages to outdo the system then that's when I'll show up. The mark they receive isn't a regular one after all.

"S-Such thinking! Is that the Dark mages in you boy?!"

The rat with a top hat said to Haruto.

"I will implant this system at every city if I manage to become the ruler over this continent."

Haruto then sat back down and waited for more questions.

"Are you really a nice Dark mage?"

"Yes."

"You plan on ending discrimination."

"You could never end it, but I'll definitely try to make it less common."

"What would be your first act as ruler over the Forbidden continent."

"Not calling it the Forbidden continent."

"What do you mean by that?"

"I mean that I don't like the name 'Forbidden'. It makes it seem like your not allowed in this sandy place when I want the complete opposite."

"I'm a little hesitant, but...I can vote in favor of him becoming the ruler."

The rat man spoke out, surpsing some people.

"Thank you."

Haruto said to his answer.

"Hes too young and immature. I'm not saying he can't do it, but he still doesn't get my vote."

A vampire spoke to Haruto. Haruto only stared back at the man. 'You've been gunning for this position haven't you?'

"I'm...skeptical. This man could be lying to us all, but from what he said, he sounds very honest. I..want to take a gamble and give him my vote."

Rose said outloud, causing Harutos lip to curl. He had to stop himself however as he didn't have the best smile anymore.

After that, a few more people came to a decision and the final votes came down too..

"7 votes for Haruto to become the new ruler and 7 votes for Haruto not to become the new ruler."

With Jacob leaving, it messed up the votes.

"I-I-I-I'm here! I have arrived!"

We all looked back and saw a child in rags. He had a bandaid under his left eye and wore a huge smile on his face. He had bruises all over his arms and didn't wear shoes too.

'Is that him?'

There was an empty seat in front of Haruto.

"Hey. This isn't a meeting for kids. Run along now.."

"I-I was invited! Look!"

He held out a paper with a stamp of gold on it.

"My name is Yukio! Nice to meet you all! You may not know who I am because my village only consists of a single house, but I still went through the process of owning that land around it, making me the chief and only person living there!"

He was kind of loud.

"I see. Please take your seat young man. You..came a little late, so we'll have to inform you on everything."

Haru came up to him and guided him to his seat.

'Quit starring at me like that..'

The kid never took his eyes off Haruto. It was like a cat looking at catnip.

The kid then sat down and Jura looked at him.

"Its nice to meet you. Seeing how you already introduced youself, let me explain."

Jura then told him my ideals and all of that. It kind of embarrassed Haruto, hearing his own words again.

"Oh, I see! I vote yes!"

""EH?!?!? JUST LIKE THAT?!""

Even the people who agreed with me on becoming the new ruler was surprised by his decision.

"C-Can you say why?"

Jura asked him, as she was slightly surprised too.

"Sure! It's because I use dark magic too! Us dark mages have to stick together right?!"

He put his thumb up at Haruto.

"What?! Another dark magic user?!?!"

The vampire spoke for everyone. Even Haruto was surprised by his words.

"Yep! So does that means hes the new ruler now?! That's awesome!"

I slightly smiled at the child.

"N-No right?! W-We can't have a kid decide the final vote like this!"

There would be 16 people, including Jura and excluding bodyguards like Haru, in the room total if the big guy was still here. Did Jura plan on making him leave like that for me? Nah, that's absurd. Even she wouldn't go that far for me.

"Well, hes was invited to this meeting, meaning hes as equal to you as he is to me. That means..."

Jura looked at me with a smile.

"Haruto, The Dark Monarch, Ruler over Harmony, is now the Ruler Of The Forbidden continent!"

Confetti went off and music started playing. Haruto saw how some people made disgusted faces at that.

"Mr. Ruler! Can I become your student?!"

The kid shouted at Haruto, but he couldn't really hear him. Haruto then pointed to the side and the kid nodded.

"Congratulations."

Haru said as Haruto started walking to the entrance of the tent. Haruto then came out the tent with an huge smile on his face.

'I-Im actually the new ruler now? This is..this is what I wanted right? Right?'

The tent came open and the kid appeared. He had short black hair that showed his small ears. His features matched Larius actualy which surprised Haruto at first.

'Fate works in odd ways...'

The only difference was his eyes. Everything else from the feminine features to the height was the exact same.

"W-What did you say kid?"

"I want to become your student!"

Haruto was slightly surprised by his words once again. 'Student? I'm still a student myself. How the hell would I train another?'

"Please! I promise I'll be a good student! Please!"

I stared at the boy then at the scratches on his arms.

"O-oh this? It's kind of hard living alone in the middle of no where.."

He forced out a laugh while rubbing the back of his head.

"Yukio was it?"

Haruto started walking up to the boy.

"I..am thankful for your vote in making me the Ruler over this continent, but I..."

His face started scrunching up, making Haruto sigh in the process.

"But I cant be your teacher. I'm still inexperienced myself. I don't have the capabilities of teaching another."

To other Dark mages, Haruto is probably a perfect representation of what they should be. Power wise atleast. He knows himself though that hes no where near ready for his future. Making this kingdom has set him back some, but henwanted to leave a mark on this world in some way. Selfish it may be, but its what's been getting him through these last couple of months.

"P-Please...I have no where to go..."

He started crying.

"I-I can barely defend mYself at night. The animals attack me and take my food! I..haven't gotten slEep in the past fEw weeks as I..as I..as I have to stAy awake to not die from the monSter that crawl through my Village.."

Haruto felt a slight touch of empathy for the boy.

"P-Please! atleast teAch me how to survive on my own! I-I'll do anyThing! Your slave! Lover! Pet! Anything! Just please tEach me.."

He fell to the floor while holding his face. His tears seemed infinite as the hit the sandy floor.

'Damn it..'

Haruto bawled his fist.

'Damn..it...'

....
