CHAPTER 19

JANE POV

Andrew had kept on driving for the past 6 hours without stopping. We finally were out of the city and it seems we were now traveling into woods and trees, I wasn't honestly free because even Andrew could abduct me also.

I woke up with a soft groan. The room looked well furnished and the mattress was more comfortable, the fact that this was the first time I was sleeping well for a long time made me smile to myself.

I turned around to check for Andrew but it seemed that he wasn't around. The room looked elegant and beautiful! The bed was queen-sized and I wouldn't budge to continue sleeping on the bed, where we'll have a decorated cushion and a mirror.

Whenever I stared at myself in the mirror I still came back to check myself. I guess I was just pleased that I wasn't in camp, I looked to the other side to notice a fireplace that looks decorated with ceramic tile. The whole floor was tiled neatly! I wouldn't just mind spending my whole life here.

"Hey, good morning?" Andrew said as he entered the room with a tray that contained food in his hands. "Morning?" I replied with a wide smirk on my face.

"How was the bed?" he asked, dropping the tray of food on the bed. "Well, it was the most comfortable one I have ever napped on. It felt like I was sleeping on a fluffy substance," I murmured as the aroma from the tray hit me hard.

"How are you feeling?" he asked again and I nodded fine as I took a big bite of the meal he had prepared. "What is this called? it tastes wonderful," I remarked as I drank more from it. "Coffee," he said, making me nod.

"I need to get to the mansion today, I don't want things getting suspicious," he said, making my heart thump very fast. Was he trying to leave me here all by myself? What would I be doing here alone?

I was still in my thoughts when we heard cars parking outside the building. I can notice Andrew trying to take a glimpse through the well-furnished window, “how did they trace us?” he let out, making me Panic.

“I think Marcus located us,” he said, making my head go numb. “I would put you in the wardrobe and leave for some minute through the back door, don't make any sound,” he said before evacuating.

After a few minutes of staying silent in the empty wardrobe, I could hear plenty of footsteps! I couldn't help it as I let out a slight howl.

“Are you that stupid?” the voice of Marcus asserted.

Was he even talking to me? Did he hear me? I thought as I held my mouth. “I wished you would just be a good girl and just do whatever I say. Do you think running away from me would keep you safe?” I could hear him playing with the tray I was eating from.

“Why don't you come out of the wardrobe and be the good girl you always used to be, I don't want to forcefully get at you myself,” he said as I could hear him munching on my food.

I couldn't help it as a sob escaped my lips. What did he think of himself? What was his problem? I could feel my voice cracking as I began to sob uncontrollably. I was still holding my mouth when the wardrobe flung open, and I was face to face with Marcus.

He looked too elegant with his sterile clothing and neatly polished shoes. He stretched his hands to pull me out but I didn't take it as I stepped out by myself, he took a few steps closer to me and I began to back away.

My back rested on the wardrobe as he fixed his hands at both sides of the wardrobe putting me in the middle. I could hear his breath fanning my face, he brought his face close to my ear.

“You are my chosen slave and what I want I get,” he said, making my whole body shudder. “Why don't you be obedient and just come with me like a good girl,” he said close to my ear.

I could feel the hotness of the tears on my cheeks. “Please?” I begged and he stared at me like I just cracked a joke. He took his hand close to me and I wiggle my face to the side.

He used his hand to push my face so he could catch a full glimpse of me. After staring at me for a while he used his thumb to clean my eyes, why was he acting weird?

He took my hand and we exited the building. What was he doing? What about Andrew? “I wonder why you chose to run away from me, I’m Marco Martinez I can go any length just to find you! So why don't you save your future husband from the turmoil?” he said as a sickening pain came to my stomach.

MARCUS POV

“Boss, I think Noah had three unknown houses. I think it was a private place built for himself,” Marcus' guard said as he nodded. He knew he had mistakenly killed the only person he had accepted as his brother and he had come to hate himself, his other Mafia in the business had known exactly what happened and they had been on his neck to get the girl and kill her.

He sure didn't want them to kill her. He just didn't know the reason behind his change of mind but he wanted to protect her, maybe because he felt he owed Noah a debt.

However, he had prayed that Noah forgives him for the stupid and selfish mistake he had committed.

He had made a vow of protecting her. He knew it was going to be hard to gain her trust but that was the list of his problems since he wasn't attracted to her one bit, he was only trying to marry her so he could tell his other Mafia colleague that she was dead.

He didn't know if he was thinking well but that was the only plan he could come up with.
