Chapter 51

I remained silent, waiting to see if Travis' grandmother would say anything else about his father. Even though I was now dying to know more, I couldn't be the one to breach the subject. He had to either do it, or someone in his family would have to tell me.

"Grandma, I think we should get going." Travis said, suddenly drawing both mine and his grandmother's attention to him.

"But the both of you just got here." His grandmother pouted.

"We will be staying for a couple of days. I will be sure to come see you a few times before we leave." Travis promised standing up. "It was a long trip and we stayed up pretty late last night."

At his words, Travis' grandmother's face seemed to take on a knowing look that immediately made my cheeks flush red.

"Not like that." I said quickly, but by the look she gave me, I knew it was pointless to argue. "Nevermind." I sighed.

Standing, I gave another smile as the old woman stood and wrapped her arms around me once more.
