It was past afternoon, and Zerith was growing restless. For the whole day, Bertha had avoided him completely. He sent messages with the maids for her. Asked her to come and meet him.

But the woman refused to reply to any of his messages or show some courtesy by coming to meet him.

Zerith had grown so used to seeing her face every day, talking to her and touching her in this past month that he missed her badly. He wouldn't have brought up Theodora's topic if only bertha had come to him.
