This morning is still the same as the previous days, the sunlight still shines brightly in the morning providing warmth. Yes, warmth. But this feels a little different for Kevin. He felt something warm embraced his body, like the warmth his mother often gave him when he was a child. The warmth of a mother's embrace that he missed so much. Since his father and mother worked for the government, doing research that was quite complex and confidential, he had very little time with his parents.
This morning for some reason he felt the warm embrace that his mother used to give him but how could that happen if his mother rarely came home. Kevin became used to living alone at home.
Ah! This hug was getting more and more stifling. Kevin wakes up. His eyes, which were still reluctant to open, were forced to open, even though it hurt because the light that began to penetrate between the curtains of the bedroom window, blinded his vision.
"Aaaaaa!!!" Kevin shouted in surprise and shifted to the corner of the room. This wasn't a scream because he had overdone the effects of the light this morning but because a creature had suddenly appeared nearby.
"Who are you?" he said nervously.
A beautiful girl with long hair, smooth white skin, face like an angel, was sleeping sweetly on Kevin's bed.
"Get up!" Kevin touched the girl's long legs with the tips of his toes.
The girl was still stubborn, she didn't respond to Kevin's actions. The curious Kevin gave a bolder course of action. He pulled the blanket to disturb the girl's sleeping position.
"Huwaahh," the girl opened her mouth wide with her eyes still closed then stretched her stiff muscles. Only then opened her eyes, her eyeballs looked beautiful with bright eyes and long and curly eyelashes. The girl blinked her eyes dazzlingly. There was no surprised expression on her face when she saw Kevin. Who is this girl?
"Good morning," said the girl. Her voice is melodious. This girl is perfect like there is no flaw at all. Honestly, Kevin was fascinated by the girl but he immediately threw the thought away. Kevin felt strange about the existence of the girl. The first thing he would do was find out where this girl came from.
"Who are you?" Kevin asked still in doubt.
"I?" her voice spoiled as she approached Kevin. "Aiko," she said casually.
"Where did you come from?" Kevin asked, sounding strange to the girl's ears.
Aiko smiled faintly, "Don't be afraid, I will be your savior," she touched Kevin's jaw with her slender fingers.
"My savior?" Kevin didn't understand what this girl meant, she called himself Aiko. Kevin removed the girl's finger from his chin.
"Argh, what are you asking? Didn't you create me yourself?" she said then sat down on the edge of the bed.
"What?!"
Kevin's face, which was still a mess, was shocked, he turned his gaze to the door of the room across from his bed. Kevin then jumped from his comfortable position, running as fast as lightning towards his work. My project! he said in his heart.
Aiko just snorted in embarrassment. "To think my Master was this stupid, but it's still fortunate that his face isn't too bad." Aiko got up and followed Kevin into his work.
Kevin was dumbfounded after seeing that his experimental table was empty, the robot that he expected to finish in a week had disappeared. Kevin then turned around and looked at the strange girl intently. Examined from head to toe. He slowly walked towards the mysterious girl in front of him.
"You... My handiwork? But how come? You're alive?" his nervousness reappeared, disbelief in Kevin's mind.
"Yes, I'm alive. As you can see," Aiko spread her arms and spun around.
Her leg sprained due to carelessness, Kevin's luck caught him swiftly. Kevin hugged Aiko's body which was about to fall, the two looked at each other. There was a strange feeling that slipped inside Kevin's heart, it was strange because Kevin felt nervous when he was in front of this girl. A girl who doesn't know where she came from, if so she is the result of her work. How can she live with a perfect appearance like a normal human? This was strange, not even acceptable to the common sense of a genius like Kevin.
Although technological developments in this world have increased drastically, a robot can't be transformed into a creature like humans in general. This is impossible. It's too disobedient if this happens, it's like God's ability. It's impossible just by dreaming.
No! This is not possible. I must be dreaming. Kevin said in his heart. He started slapping himself on the cheek to wake him up. But Kevin felt pain, he then stopped and looked back at the girl carefully. Kevin even grabbed both of the girl's arms, watching her closely.
This girl is really real, she is very similar to humans in general. Ah no, she is indeed a human because there is not the slightest sign that she is a robot. I can't believe it myself if I don't see it myself. I want to not believe her words but my almost perfect robot has disappeared and there's only this girl near me now, Kevin thought to himself.
The security system where I live is very sophisticated because my parents designed it to protect me from attacks by people who might want to get their hands on my parents' work.
"Hmm, can you let me go?" Aiko said a moment later.
"Ah sorry," Kevin released his grip. Kevin felt guilty for hurting her.
Bruck!
"Aww it hurts, can you slow down? How can a guy be this rude to a girl," she complains.
Kevin glared at the girl's face. He was surprised to hear the girl complaining of pain. How can a robot feel pain? Hah! Could it be that I have gone mad because of my pent-up obsession?
"Hey! Did you hear what I said?"
"Sorry, I didn't mean it like that. Erm, if you are my handiwork if you're a robot. How can you feel pain?" Kevin's logic still couldn't accept it.
"That's how great you are the creator that you can't even describe yourself." Aiko grabbed Kevin's hands then said with a smile. "Your hands are very skilled and it makes your work amazing because..." Aiko touched Kevin's forehead with her index finger. "The one in here, so amazing and perfected by..." Aiko lowered her hand and gently touched Kevin's chest. "Your sincere heart."
Kevin could only stare at the strange girl who called herself Aiko without blinking, digesting every sentence the girl said.
"We still have plenty of time to go over everything. Now we have to get ready for college or we'll be late."
"We? To campus? Ah I mean, why did you come to campus?" Kevin asked cluelessly.
"Learn, I will also attend the same campus as you. I will also help you achieve your mission."
"My mission? What?" Kevin was confused.
