Aiko8. Fever

With the warning sound of the door opening, Kevin headed home.  He breathed a sigh of relief after seeing the shoes Aiko wore this morning on the shoe rack near the entrance.

Kevin looked for her on every side of campus.  Kevin even abandoned Viola's Lunch invitation because he was worried about Aiko.  A rare opportunity that Kevin has been waiting for.  He had always dreamed of being able to spend time with Viola.  Now, the time had come for him, Kevin had not been able to enjoy it.  Kevin's attention was focused on Aiko.  The results of the work that he had created with all his heart.  Unexpectedly, Kevin cares for her more than his love for Viola, the campus queen.

"Aiko, are you home already?"  Kevin said, calling Aiko while looking for her in every room.

Kevin found Aiko lying on his bed.  When she sleeps, she looks amazing.  It's an amazing piece of work.

"Hey, did you sleep?"  Kevin is trying to figure it out.  Approached Aiko and examined her more closely.

Her eyes were closed, but her forehead was furrowed.  It seemed she was enjoying her dream.  Ah, a robot can dream?  Hah!  I feel more and more abnormal.  This work exceeded my expectations.  Kevin chuckled.

Kevin looked back at Aiko's face.  He marveled at the flawless sculptures on every part of her face.  Hard to accept with logic.  Even people would laugh at me if I introduced Aiko as a robot.  I will be called a braggart.

Naturally, Kevin's hand moved to touch the perfect sculpture.  Kevin was curious about the surface of Aiko's facial skin that looked clean and glowing.  It takes regular care to have facial skin like this.  Ah, Kevin doesn't even remember the material used for this piece.

Kevin was surprised when he managed to touch Aiko's forehead.  "Fever?"

Kevin touched it again to make sure.  Right, Aiko did have a fever.  The surface of her forehead is hot, or she's just been thinking too much today.  So that the components in it become hot.  I have to check it out.  Kevin ran to his room.  Picked up some tools to examine some of the components inside Aiko's body.  That's what Kevin had in mind right now, he hastily took some tools from the room, then positioned himself near Aiko who was lying down.

Kevin froze in his position as he managed to hold the screwdriver in one hand and looked at Aiko specifically.  He was confused when he started his work.  Kevin couldn't remember where the opening part was.  All of Aiko's body surfaces were like normal humans.  There were no signs of opening or open writing on his body.  Kevin was dazed for a moment.

Kevin put the tool held in annoyance to his side.  He again held Aiko's forehead to confirm once more.  Kevin judged a moment ago and concluded that it really was a fever.  Then, he thought of a way to reduce fever for humans, but then it occurred to him that if he put a compressed towel on Aiko's forehead, could a short circuit occur?  Kevin took a deep breath, he cursed his mind which he felt was not functioning as usual.

Kevin took a temperature gauge, the result was 38.9°C.  He panicked even more as Aiko started to shiver.  Kevin then took the antipyretic in the medicine box.  Forcefully opened Aiko's mouth, to help her swallow the medicine.  Succeed.  Aiko gave a response, she swallowed it.  In a semi-conscious state, Aiko started deliriously.

After four hours of Kevin taking care of her, finally, Aiko's body temperature returned to normal.  A faint smile graced Kevin's handsome face.  Aiko also started to regain consciousness.

"Are you feeling better?"  Kevin looked at her worriedly.

Aiko nodded slowly, then she held her stomach.  She looked at Kevin with a look of pity.

 "You hungry?"

 "Yes."

 "Hmm, what did you eat?"

Aiko's eyes immediately widened at Kevin's ridiculous question.  A naughty idea popped into her head.

 "You."

 "What?!"  Kevin was taken aback.

Aiko stifled a laugh, her still weak body making her unable to laugh at her master's stupidity.

 "No kidding."

 "I'm serious."

 "You scare me."

Aiko smiled but then held her head.  He massaged her slowly.

"Your head hurts?"  Kevin reached out his hand to help.

"Quick, feed me."  She asked softly.

"Are you eating like a human or electric? Some kind of charge?"  A stupid question came out of Kevin's mouth.

"You're so cute. I prefer human food that has flavor."  Aiko then brought her face closer to Kevin's ear.  "I replenish energy in other ways," Aiko said meaningfully.

"Stop. You must have the energy to bother me. Wait here, I will prepare food for you."

Aiko smiled at Kevin who was walking towards the kitchen.  The man began to take a few packets of instant food from the supply cupboard.  Then process it.

Ten minutes later He again approached Aiko with a bowl of food.  Kevin gave it to Aiko.  But the girl shook her head and asked Kevin to feed her.

Kevin was lazy but he didn't refuse.  With great care he fed Aiko.  There was a fear of loss when he saw Aiko lying limp.  The fear that has haunted Kevin for a long time.  He was afraid of the loss.  It was one of several reasons he didn't have many friends.  Kevin hates breakups.

"This is the last one," Kevin said as he took the last spoonful.

Aiko devoured it, chewed it quickly, and said, "I want more."

Kevin looked at Aiko seriously.  "Are you kidding? I already gave you a big bowl of food."

"That's not enough. I need two more."

 "What?!"
