The sect exchange is designed to be held every year to give chance to other sects, no one would like a single sect monopolizing the resources. Twin moon sect is aiming to the top five in order to let their disciples cultivate in the island. No spirit gathering array could compare to the quality of spirit qi there. 


This time yu xue'er couldn't go to cloud river city with them, after giving it some thought yu yue didn't brought lady shan shou, hua ling, and wang ling with her. She left them in the sect along with the forces under them just in case, it is not rare for sects to attack each other's territory.

It would be harder to escape if those death fog cultivators would appear again, if it's just a few of them then it's easier to escape. However, she also made an arrangement with hong mei and the others.
