Chapter 16: Quest!

It was nighttime.

Initially, Ning was confident with her new strength. She wanted to make use of the time and hunt for a few zombies. However, she quickly changed her mind when she saw the color of the moon.

It was scarlet, redder than blood.

The alleyway's high wall had blocked out her sight the previous night. Hence this was the first time Ning has witnessed this scene.

She stood behind the glass window, appalled and terrified.

Such a thing couldn't be normal. No one in their right mind would choose to come out at this time. Ning was too familiar with this plot. As the saying goes, when the red moon rises, all the monsters will go wild, increasing their strength several times.

'The time is not right.'

Ditched the thought of going out, Ning went back to her sponge bed and yawned, falling asleep.

The next day— early morning.

Ning tirelessly chased after a few dumb-looking pigeons in front of the connivance store. For a while, the coo-coo cries rang about.

...

Looking at her status, Ning smiled.

Compared to before, she could felt that her body has improved in various aspects. Especially her strength, stamina, and speed have significantly improved. From 0 to 1, the standard improvement of 1 point in all the attributes has greatly benefited her.

'Okay, now there is only one thing left. To level up!'

With an "I can do this" expression Ning soon left the store, searching for wandering zombies.

Well, they are everywhere, but what she wanted was to find a solitary target.

Although the power of her Fireball has dramatically enhanced, she knows that it wasn't enough to one-shot a zombie. If a horde were to surround her while she was fighting, it wouldn't be good.

Suddenly, Eggie's voice sounded in Ning's mind.

A transparent blue screen appeared in front of her while she was strolling.

"Host, behold, your first quest has been generated!"

(Remark: How could you become stronger without killing? Don't want to get constipated in the worst way? Time's limited, Go! Go! Go!)

As Ning's eyes fell onto the penalty line, her legs and tummy trembled uncontrollably.

Frightened, she couldn't even begin to imagine— 'How dreadful!'

Woof!

'Eggie, let's be honest here. Is it you who decided on the penalty...?' Ning felt that this was very likely. The looks in her eyes were full of suspicion.

"Yes, it's me!"

Woof! Woof! (Then changed it to something else!)

"No way!"
