Vindictus checked the clock in his status page and saw that by the time that he finished this dungeon it would be night and that would help him out when he left the dungeon. It would be great for the last two boss fights.
The group slowly moved through the first floor of the dungeon and Vindictus quickly wondered if the chest he got on the hard level would also be on the hell mode and if anyone had found it yet. As long as it was not a threat to the group he could go and check it out. The rewards in hell mode should kick the chest up a color to silver. He should be able to handle it once they were on the second floor.
The group moved through nice and steady and killed everything behind them so that they could not be surrounded. About the time they hit the middle do the first floor all four of them gave a soft glow that showed that they had leveled up. "Go ahead and level up I will keep watch."
The four of them quickly took care of their level ups and they all felt ready for the next few levels. The all looked over at Vindictus and saw that he was still showing the same level as the second time that they met him. Brick was about to say something and then just shook his head. There was no way that Vindictus was still this level but he was not going to pry since he was taking such good care of them.
"Okay, everyone good to go?" Without another word Vindictus started further down the path to the boss. It took them a lot longer to get to the boss this time but none of them were hurt. "So, from what my cousin said the biggest change to this boss is that now he will spawn four skeletons. Two will be beside him and two will pop up in close vicinity to the mages. So Ursi is going to take care of the ones that appear by the mages and I will take care of the ones beside it. Brick and Knocking, you will focus on the general and only the general. Frigid you will also focus on the general with an occasional check on Ursi to make sure they do not need any support. Wall Flower you are going to need to focus on Brick but keep an eye on Ursi as well."
"Will you and Knocking be, okay?"
"I will be fine. With Brick pulling agro and me, being the most likely to OT, Knocking Heads should be fine but pay attention to him as well."
"Okay Vindictus. I will do my best."
"By the way he will spawn the skeleton about every twenty percent of their health but that starts at ninety. That way it will summon four more at the exact same time is does into berserk mode."
"Remind me to send this cousin of you're a bottle of their favorite drink." Brick muttered as he started moving forward. It was time to fight the first boss. Brick charged forward and the boss bellowed and returned the charge. Right before the boss would have hit him with a charge Brick triggered the effects of his new boots, Immovable Mountain. This not only let him ignore the damage but also prevented him from being knocked back. Vindictus was happy with the timing of the skill usage and the growth he had seen from the Brick and the others. Now that agro was firmly established Knocking Heads and Vindictus both sprinted forward and attacked.
It did not take long before the boss dropped the first ten percent of his health and bellowed. "Come my minions." The four skeletons quickly grew out of the ground. Ursi went to work as soon as they were formed and slammed his huge paws down on the head of the one that was closest to it and the ground around them shook. Frigid kept looking over his shoulder to check on the bear but it was clearly in full control of the situation. Although it was slow going it was facing the skeletons with no issues.
Vindictus quickly cut the two skeletons down and then attacked the boss again. His cross cut was off of cool down and he used it without hesitation. The skeleton general screamed and then turned on Vindictus. The sword came tearing in and Vindictus used the parry skill and kept fighting. The skeleton general was about to attack again when Brick used his taunt skill again and forced the focus back on himself. "Nice timing Brick." It was not a hard fight but it was a tedious fight. The hell mode boss had a defense that made even Vindictus annoyed and more health that he should have had so they could only keep chipping away.
Finally, they finished it off and Vindictus harvested it like always. There was a huge pile of stuff and a lot of it was blue but almost none of it would be any good for them. Although he did pass out a few of the potions that it had a well as a few of the holy waters that he had left form his earlier run. After a short rest they headed down the stairs to the second floor.
"Okay Ursi move up to the front and we will keep it just like last time. The boss this time has an AoE of poison. It still only uses it four times and I will try to get it to attack me. If you do get hit with it use the holy water and it will wash it off and cure the low-level poison. When it hits berserk mode, it will release it in a ring and everyone will get hit. Like last time this one will also summon zombies in the exact same manner. So, Frigid I will need you to pour the holy water on Ursi when the berserk hits." He pulled out two extra holy waters.
"You can count on my Vindictus. I will make sure that he gets taken care of."
"Thanks. Also, when we hit the half way point I need to check something out. I heard that there is a hidden wall in here and it hides a chest but it is only for the first one to find it. I would like to take a look since we are here. I am not sure if anyone has found it yet but a chest is worth the look."
Wall Flower quickly spoke up. "You lead the way Vindictus, we will follow your orders."
Vindictus moved down the path and killed a few zombies as he led the others back for the group to handle. They used that strategy all the way to the middle of the floor. "Okay guys hold here for a second. There will probably be a few zombies show up but they will not be much of a threat if you hold formation."
Brick gave him a little shove. "Hurry up already. The faster you go and come back the better we will all be."
Vindictus ran towards the wall and killed the single zombie that was standing between him and his target. He reached out and felt that the wall was an illusion and stepped through it. He almost screamed when he saw that not only was the chest still there but it was not the silver that he expected but a gold chest. His heart was racing as he quickly put his hand on it and triggered it to open. This one was a three-minute open and he hoped that the group was okay without him. Three minutes might not seem like a lot but in a dungeon, it could be the difference in life and death.
The timer on the chest finally dinged and he pushed it open. There was a lot of blue items as well as an item that if he had to trade the life of the group over the item, he would take the item and pay them for their time. It was a purple item. Not only was it a purple item was it was an accessory item. No matter what happened this trip was now officially worth it. He did not check anything out he simply stuffed everything in his bag and then ran back to the group.
The group was finishing up the last zombie when he got there. Frigid saw the look on his face. "So, it was still there then?"
"Yeah, I did not take a good look at what I got but I have a feeling that we are going to start building sets for you guys soon. Okay now let's get the first clear of this bad boy."
