Neil looked at the shelves which contained lot of scripts and martial arts. There were also many weapons and herbs stored neatly. There were boxes at side when neil opened it there were many gold coins. There was a small box which contained some spirit coins and a little box which contained inferior quality spirit stones. Neil looked at the center there were three small boxes which were the center of attraction and probably contained most valuable treasures. Neil opened the first box it had a jade container which had a pill. As neil opened the lid a fresh aroma of herbs spread which were pleasant. Neil put the lid back, he did not know what pill was that. He opened the second box which had an ancient scroll. As he opened it he had a cultivation technique named thunder blaze art. It was an thunder attributed cultivation art which are rare. the third box contained a map on some animal skin , which looked like a treasure map. After examining the map carefully it contain way to an ancient ruin.
There were also many martial skills and other cultivation arts and many books on alchemy, weapon refining, arrays, etc. There was a bag at the corner after looking at the bag Neil knew it was an storage bag. when neil looked inside it had an huge space about 10 cubic meter space and was empty. neil did some experiments with the bag and placed all the things inside the bag not leaving anything in the room. There was also land deed of the orphanage. he returned to the dormitory and started thinking about his future. First he needed to absorb all the knowledge from the books.
His next few days were uneventful. he spend all his time reading books about general knowledge about various professions. He found that all alchemist in this world are all separated into grade 1-9 alchemists where grade 9 being the lowest. Similarly weapons, pills, blacksmith masters, talisman masters are also divided into 9 different realms while each realm further divided into low, mid, top and peak grade.
Cultivation arts and martial skills are also divided into yellow grade , mortal grade , earth , heaven and saint tier arts. Thunder blaze art is low grade earth art and the other martial skills and cultivation arts are yellow grade. Three of them were low grade mortal grade. He calculated all his wealth he had about hundred thousand gold coins, 100 spirit coins and about 20 inferior grade low grade spirit stones.
Neil observed that he was very skilled in retaining and understanding books. his one time look he could understand and remember everything. For next few months he read all the basic information on various martial skills, cultivation arts , herbs , arrays, talismans . He went on the hill to hunt and collect some vegetables for his food. During this time he tried to cultivate but his absorption of spiritual energy was very slow and he was suprised despite being his spiritual roots being stolen he could absorb spiritual energy to refill his energy in body but could not use it to improve his cultivation because absorbed amount being too small.
His theoretical knowledge in arrays, alchemy, Talismans and blacksmithing was equivalent to grade 8. he did not want to waste time in all this auxillary occupations but as he could not cultivate he spend his time in all this occupations. he started training in three yellow ranked upper techniques in fist, sword and footwork namely iron fist, 3 slash strike and speedy steps. he started training these skills after learning 1 year ago after perfecting all basics. he knew basics are foundations and should not be neglected. Each martial skill has initial phase, completion phase and perfection phase. he was in completion phase in iron fist and speedy steps and in initial phase in 3 slash strike. he could strike first slash according to skill. After much thought he selected this three skills as they were mutually complementary and could increase their effectiveness. With speedy steps he could used it while performing iron fist and 3 slash strikes.
Town people knew that he was living alone but did not make trouble for him after he beat up a bunch of hooligans who came to occupy orphanage forcefully. Those who all stole things from orphanage were afraid that he will come after them.
