ALREADY FEW HOURS HAS PASSED

I sighed. "It's not even break time yet, but I'm here at the café just chilling."

Today's work was less than yesterday. Due to the incident yesterday, many guests left and no new guests came. The only thing I did today was to bring food for the guests that stayed and clean the room who left. Furthermore, the floor where the murder happened was empty, all the guests reside there left immediately. Now that I have nothing to do, I went to this café in the hotel to chill.

"Here's your Cappuccino."

While I'm chilling, a waitress brought me coffee.

I shout to thank Mr. Drew, the coffee brewer, and He waves his hand as a reply.

While sipping the coffee, the waitress spoke, "You had a hard time on your first day ha… Mr. Shin?"

"Yeah, to think that happ-- wait, what did you call me?"

"Mr. Shin?"

"H-how did you know my name?"

"Through gossip."

"Gossip?"

"The news about the incident and about you being the witness are already spread through the whole hotel."

"Already!? That was fast. It's just been a day."

I took a sip again of my coffee, but it was already gone.

"Oh, it's already gone. I may have drank it all while we were talking. Now that I think of it, this is my first time in a café."

After she left, someone talked to me.

It was the voice of a man.

"Can you tell me the details about the incident yesterday?" He said.

He's wearing the same uniform as me, which means he's a fellow staff member.

"Have you not yet heard it from others?" I asked.

"Then you know the gist of it."

Roland… I have not heard of it from Clara's backstory. I must ask Clara about him sometime.

"Then what will you do after I tell you the details?" I asked.

Just by looking at his eyes, I know what he's planning. It is an eye of revenge.

I told him what the guy looks like.

"That incident was the first time it happened here. And coincidentally you saw it on your first day of work. Really suspicious."

Now that this guy said it. I remember I awoke my ability when I killed the guy in a coat.

I sighed. "That's scary."

It's just the 2nd day of work and someone's already threatening me.

"Hey, are you alright?" Sana asked me.

"Yea."

"That guy looks mad. Did you do something?"

"Nah, it's just a friendly greeting."

"Greetings? His face looks like he wants to murder you."

"Haha."

She sighed. "You're just new here, and you have already gotten into a fight."

Sam enters the café and heads towards me.

"Shin!" Sam called me.

"Oh Sam. You want something from me?"

"Yeah..."

"What is it?"

"It's already break time, so… want to hang out?"

"Sure why not. Sana, you want to join?"

"Eh… you're asking some other girl…" Sam spoke.

"...sorry, I can't join. It's not my break time yet." Sana said.

"Oh, is that so? Then maybe next time."

"Sure, next time."

Sam pulled me aside and said, "Let's go already."

"Okay, okay. Then I have to go now, Sana."

"Bye. Make sure to visit the café again."

"Yea I will."

Then Sam and I left the café. Sam holds my hand as we walk.

While walking, She suddenly says, "Oh yea, Roland asked me where you're at, and then just a while ago I saw him exit the café while looking serious. What did you guys talk about?"

"He just asked me about the incident yesterday."

"Oh that."

"You know something?"

"Just a little."

"What is it?"

"Let's just say love."

"Love?"

"Enough minding that, let's go quickly."

She walks faster while holding my hand.

"Wait, Where are we going?" I asked.

"Where else? Then to my room."

Then we enter the elevator.

We had sex while we're in the elevator. When we reached the floor, we ran from the elevator to her room while our lower bodies were naked. Luckily no one saw that but to remember what the boss said there's CCTV on every floor, I felt uncomfortable until we reached the room. After reaching her room, we continued what we're doing back at the elevator.

Half of our break time has already passed. In those time we do nothing but s*x, but now she's sleeping. I decided to head back to my room to spend the rest of the break. So after putting my clothes on, I leave her room.

While walking, a door opened and Clara went out of that room.

"Feeling alright, Clara?" I said.

"Oh, Shin you there. Yea, I'm fine. But Claire seems not yet..."

"Is it okay to leave her?"

"No, I'm just going to get some food."

"Food?"

"Yeah. I heard food was helpful for depressed people."

"Sounds good."

"You, Shin."

"Me?"

"Yea. What are you doing here? This is the girl side."

"Ah, that… I had some business on this side."

"Is that so…? Then see you later." She turns around and starts walking away. But...

"Wait." I stopped her.

"What is it? Have something to say?"

"Yea."

"What?"

"You know Roland?"

"Yea. What about him?"

"Not long ago, he asked me about the incident yesterday."

"Hhmm… I know the gist of it."

"You know?"

"Yea. It's practically obvious."

"What is his relation with Lilith?"

"Lilith becomes friends with him in this hotel. Because of Lilith's kindness, after some long time, it seems Roland developed some feelings for her. I guess that makes him desperate to know what happened to her."

"Are you not going to stop him?"

"Let him be. It's his decision." She turns around after saying that, then starts walking.

But when she's not far yet, I said something.

"But it's dangerous." I said.

She stopped walking and said, "To be honest, I want to find and kill the murderer myself. But if Roland really killed that guy, then I'm really grateful to him." Then she continued walking.

When Clara is already gone, their door suddenly opens.

"Shin…"

"Claire?! How long have you been there?"

"When I heard your voice."

"...then you heard our conversation a while ago?"

"Yes… Shin…"

"Yea?..."

"Can you look at Clara?"

"Why?"

"I don't want something to happen to her. Can you do it, please?"

She's depending on me, I'm younger than them, so that's some big request I got. But…

"Sure I will." I replied.

She suddenly starts crying. "Thank you… really thank you." She said.

"Clara is the only I have."

Seeing her crying for Clara really showed how great their friendship is.

While she's crying, I pat her and say, "It's ok. Just take some rest. Leave it to me."

It's really weird patting someone that is older than me. But…
